OMG! Brennan better be able to explain this one.....thats so sad...poor Booth...i want them to be happy...but i love your cliffies sooo much! lol

Here it is. It's short, I know, but the next chapter I am going to have to put a mature rating on I believe. If anyone could tell me procedure on that I would be grateful. I just didn't want to post anything before I knew how it works.

Brennan continued to speak, her eyes focused on anything but Booth, completely missing his heartbroken expression. “It was easier then, when I didn’t have to feel like this.”

“Is that what you really want?” he managed to ask one last time, giving her the chance to change her mind, to choose HIM.

“Yes, it is. But…” she took a deep breath, “I could never give up the way I feel about you.”

Booth immediately perked up, tilting his head as if he had misunderstood what she had just said.

Panicked by her own statement, Brennan began to pace frantically, not waiting for any response from Booth. “My brain and my heart are telling me two different things. My brain says to ignore how empty I feel when you aren’t near me, how jealous I feel when you give your charm smile to any other woman but me, how wonderfully taken care of I feel when you call me before bed or how much longing I feel when you use your “guy hug” excuses.”

“Bones,” he reached out and grabbed her wrist, stopping her ramblings, turning her to face him.

His own eyes fought to stay dry staring into hers. They both mirrored each other’s fear.

“What about your heart Temperance?” He stepped closer, bringing his voice to a whisper. “What does your heart want?”

Shakily she turned his hand over in hers and without speaking pulled the collar of her shirt aside, placing it on bare skin over her heart. Booth could feel its rapid beating, the warmth underneath his palm where her chest rose and fell deeply.

“My heart...” he reached up as she spoke with his free hand and wiped a stray tear from her cheek, “My heart wants you Booth. It’s yours to have. I’m yours to have.”

One idea as far as the M rated chapter is to post it in a seperate thread. Body Under Guard M Rated Chapter. And maybe post a milder version of it with the rest of the story here. I've seen things like that done elsewhere. As soon as I finish up my continuing stories I'm going to tone down a few of the M rated things I wrote at ff.net and post them elsewhere and maybe tone up the PG 13 rated ones and post them there if that makes sense.

I love this story by the way.

So, I live in Florida, in the Gulf Coast area right on the coast. The power has flickered off a few times now because of the tropical storm. So I am going to wait until the storm passes to post the next chapter. I am using the internet on my blackberry to do this. Will post the next chapter possibly tomorrow night, most likely, Wednesday night. Sorry for the hold up.

As for the change in rating, you can handle that pretty much any way you'd like here. If you want to put it in the topic title just do an edit on the first post in the thread. You can make it "The Body Under Guard (Rating Changed to M)" or something like that. Or if it's just a single chapter and you want to write it both ways then you could make a posting of each rating and let folks decide which one they'll read.

So besides last night, Tropical Storm Ida was pretty much a bust. Which is definitely good news, not that is was going to be oh so horrible as the Weather Channel tried to depict it. But I will definitely be posting the newest chapter tonight. But I am specifically going to change the title to add Rating M to the post for the chapter.

Which can only mean good things!! Haha!! Can't wait!

I am not comfortable with writing a completely smutty scene because it is always weird when there are actual people playing the parts we write i.e. Emily and David. But this is still a love scene that while not explicit still probably needs the rating change. Read at your own risk.

Brennan’s breathing suspended as she watched Booth’s face,
waiting for him to react to her confession.

Silence ticked away with the seconds, and he still looked to
be in processing.

“Booth please say something.” She urged, hoping she hadn’t just
made a huge mistake.

Suddenly his hand snaked around her waist, closing the gap
between their bodies. Startled, Brennan grasped his shoulders.


He lowered his lips to just hover above hers, a smile
twitching up the side of his mouth as Brennan’s eyes flickered shut in
anticipation of the contact.

“I think you’ve said enough for the both of us Bones,” Booth
waited for her to open her eyes back up before he went any further.


Brennan took his pause to mean that he wanted a reply, “I
don’t knmph,” But the well worn phrase was muffled as their lips finally
collided. What started out slow and tentative quickly shifted as their previously
restrained desires bubbled to the surface.


Sliding her hands from his shoulders to cradle his neck in
both hands, Brennan gave entrance to his begging mouth, parting her lips in a
sigh. Once the need for air became too great they pulled back from one another.


After the haze settled slightly, a thought occurred to
Brennan. One that she had mulled over ever since she had heard it. Seeing the
wheels turning, Booth stroked her cheek, “Penny for your thoughts?”


“Rebecca.” She answered, understanding the metaphor.


“What?” Booth’s face dropped immediately.


“Something she said a few years ago. Something about a
moment that two people have where they can catch fire....I believe this to be
ours.”


She kissed him quickly chuckling at the slack jaw look he
still carried, having his ex mentioned during such an intimate time.


Recovering quickly, Booth reached out a crooked grin
flashing and began unbuttoning her shirt, with each button open a question was
answered. They both wanted this, needed this and there was no going back. This
was their moment.


Pushing the shirt away from Brennan’s torso Booth’s eyes
darkened at the creamy expanse of skin that was revealed, a black lace bra the
only thing separating him from all of her.


Not one to be outdone, Brennan found the hem of his shirt
and made quick work of pulling it over his head and tossing it to the floor.
Taking another step forward, she closed the gap between them, purposely
pressing her own bare skin to his. The contrast of his heated tan flesh to her
cool made her shudder.

Booth immediately encircled her waist with his arms, his
hands resting on her back pulling her tighter against him before leaning down
to graze his lips over her porcelain collarbone.


He reveled in her reaction, Brennan’s hands clutched at his
back, her nails lightly scraping down the expertly sculpted muscles.


“Bed.” Brennan demanded breathlessly.


In enthusiastic response, Booth’s hands dived from her back to the pockets of her jeans cupping her bottom and pulling her up so that she
could wrap her long legs around his waist.


Making their way to the makeshift bedroom, Booth trailed
kisses along her throat earning pleasured whimpers from his partner.


Neither could believe that this was actually happening even
as their bodies reacted fiercely to the intimate contact.


Booth had to remind himself of what this truly meant for
them to keep from loosing control. Tempted to take her fast and rough, making
her scream his name as they came together. There would be time for that later,
yes there would be a later. Tonight and in this situation he needed to show her
what it felt like to be with somebody you truly loved.


Reaching the bed, he knelt down laying her gently across the
mattress.


Brennan watched him as he stood back, undoing his belt and
freeing himself of his pants. Even though they hadn’t gone that far she knew
beyond a doubt that this was different then anything else she had ever
experienced. She could feel his eyes back on her, almost black with desire he came
down hovering over her own jeans.


Twisting her hips, she signaled him and he began to unbutton
her pants, sliding them down and throwing them to the side. “Making me do all
the work are you?” he teased, mesmerized by sight of her toned silky curves.


As if it was a challenge, she sat up and pulled him by his
hand to lie beside her. “We’re partners Booth. We split all of the work evenly.”
