Those days most people hated the language and didn't know much of it which, of course, was understandable given the historical circumstances. For years my knowledge was very poor so were my marks but in the last year of primary school something clicked in me and I suddenly understood things which had been totally unclear to me for years!! From that time I only had mark 5s. I mean in secondary scool. Russian is not a very difficult language. You just have to learn the letters; that may take some time, but the rest is manageable.

Yes. The letters do look awfully complicated.

I'd join a Russian class if I could. Sadly enough I just don't have the time. And very inconvenient work hours on top of that too...

My sister-in-law's boyfriend is a history teacher and speaks very good Russian. He told me I would be welcomed in his group whenever I want. Unfortunately, I have other priorities these days. Maybe in a couple of years' time. Who knows.

Glasses aren't so bad. I was mortified when, last year in June, my doc told me I needed glasses too. I refused to wear them for almost two months until I finally realized that my eyes felt so much better when I wore them. Plus, no headaches. You will be fine.

Just make sure to pick a nice pair of glasses. A nice pair definitely boosts your self-esteem. Wink

Well I have had glasses since age 5 and likely needed them earlier than that! All the cool kids have glasses . . . What a Face
