The AU - Brennan writing vs Booth dreaming

And the whole twitter post thing: I think Hart DOES know when Bones will end 'cuz he said "now we know WHEN."

I know it's fuzzy, but that's Booth's hand when Brennan is on top of him. Why oh WHY would he NOT have his wedding ring on if they are married (in AU)?!?! I haven't had time yet and now I have to go to bed, but maybe someone else can find out: what does Brennan's wedding ring look like in the AU? I will take a look tomorrow, but I *think* from what I remember that she has BOTH an engagement ring AND a wedding ring on during the AU.

Im up for the first scene being a flash forward to the future, but the whole lack of a wedding ring on booths finger throws me a bit..

I think the the narrating was brennans book but the AU was all in booths head (why he doesnt remember her face i still havent figured)

@i_heart_bones: my theory fixes the whole "Booth-not-having-a-wedding-ring-on"...they aren't married, they're engaged. Hence Brennan wearing an engagement ring and Booth not wearing a wedding ring.

Am I wrong or Brennan's ring in the first scene is different from the one in the AU? It would be another sign that the first scene represents the future and is not part of the AU...

I totally read it! And I agree. I can imagine them coming to a joint conclusion: engagement, not marriage. Booth wants to show his love in a physical way (not sexual of course... although... ) whereas Brennan doesn't need a piece of paper or a ring to show her commitment. HOWEVER, they've always met in the middle in their relationship. This is the perfect solution, I think.

Which ring is which? Is the smaller one from the sex scene and the bigger one from the rest of the "dream"? I was thinking that if that's so, that in wedding rings, two rings interlock making a bigger one (such as the one with three diamonds). That would be so B/B to be engaged and "meet in the middle".

Well... it's GREAT seeing there are 2 rings!
but again, I'm afraid we're nor agreeing on its meaning to me, it fits with the idea of little signals being a mix of how B&B each see things...

I think I'll have to post a theory 2.0. there are some things I have to add to it... an interpretation of the title of the ep included.

I cannot but be amazed at these little details, though.

The one with 3 diamonds is the one in the AU. Good theory though, Mama!

Wow, that's some interesting news. So, it sounds like maybe we can possibly, kinda sorta, come to an inconclusive conclusion that Booth's "amnesia" was over Wife-Bren vs. Bones-Bren, then, right? I mean, slightly inconclusively.

Hi everyone...new to this blog, but really enjoying reading everyone's theories about the finale. At first I was really disappointed that the episode was an AU. I kept thinking that Hart lied to the fans and I was pretty upset...BUT I wanted to give the episode another chance so I watched the finale a couple of more times and now think there are a lot of little details that are important to consider. First of all, what's up with the clock changing from standard time when Brennan first comes into the bedroom to military time when Cam knocks on the door. That has GOT to mean something. My idea is that the sex scene is a flash to their future (which would explain the title of the ep, "The End in the Beginning") and not at all part of Booth's dream, which actually begins after that flash of light and as Cam knocks on the door. What do you guys think? Brilliant pick-up on the different rings on Brennan's finger...definitely significant. I am sure there are tons more that I have not yet picked up on but I love reading everyone else's ideas and predictions. Thanks for all the thought-provoking chatter, everyone!

I'm leaning towards the "meeting of the minds," obviously they are both creating this one. Maybe Brennan is writing a new book, decides to tell Booth while he's in a coma, and he thinks she's filling him in the case they are on. What I am forever interested, even though the case is actually meh, is that we got a peak on what's going on inside their heads. Solving a case takes chemistry indeed, but we never really got to see their innermost longings, intentions and motives.

maybe the whole amnesia-thing will be solved in between the seasons......they often do things like that and the viewers will only get to know what happend, because they talk about it

Yeah maybe. i kind of wish it wasnt though. i want it to be a continuation, no wait i just changed my mind..hehe. but i am hoping that the "who are you" is over quickly, cuase he was still all groggy from the coma...

I wish that it will be covered in the first episode of season 5.....whether they tell us how he overcame his amnesia or we can actually see it happen is another question though
