Yeah, she's 14. She's been cooking since she was 11 or 12...just easy stuff, mostly. But she does make oatmeal cookies from scratch...

It's called The Red Pyramid...it's by the same author who wrote the Percy Jackson series. Technically, I suppose they are teenage books, but he can really tell a story and it pulled me in, lol. I took Allie to see the Percy Jackson movie and decided I wanted to read the book...and that led me to the second book, and the third, and so on, lol. Kind of like Harry Potter did.

And the Percy Jackson series is about the Greek gods, and PJ is a son of one of them from a mortal woman. Turns out there are many kids like him, and they have adventures. It really is very good. I never heard of it until the movie came out, though. This new series is about ancient Egypt, and kids that are descended from Egyptian gods. So far, it's just as good.
