he is 21 now so we have had him for 15 years hes done so much for us he deserves a nice place and he is practicly a member of the family

My guy is 20 and I'm still showing him. I just did 2'6"-2'9" jumpers at this last show and we'll do the 3'0" at the next show, maaaaybe some 3'3". He's better at the bigger fences.

He didn't TOUCH a rail the other day when they were all 2'9", but at 2'6", he was like ignoring them and smacking into them.

We used to do the 3'6"-3'9", but I don't want to push him now that he's older.

yea there are several little girls that show him in local shows hes a busy boy he would not be happy retired he likes to work plus they all spoil him bring him lots of treats and he has the most toys in the stable the manager leaves his door open all day with only a stall guard up so he greets everyone and is also the babysiter for the new weanlings

yea my girl does that too 2'6'' she hits but give her 3' and shes happy

That's cool. Yeah, I find that if Volcano doesn't get ridden for a while, he gets bored. He *couldn't* retire yet, he would be depressed.

Exactly. The trainer who was schooling me the other day said this "he doesn't really respect the 2'6" " and I thought that that was the perfect way to put it.

Blossom gets depressed if we leave her over 2 days then she trys to get you off when you get back on her we have to have another girl ride her if we want to go on vacation

Volcano tends to get quite grumpy when you get back on him after a long while. Like when I got back from California, he had been semi-retired while I was gone, he kept throwing his head in the air for the bridle and he would move sideways when I tried to get on him.

He tried to get away with not wanting to move forward and throwing a fit by thrusting his head in the air...but it didn't work with me as it had worked with the lesson kids. He learned that quite quickly.

Blossom is a pushy little brat if things change she is put out for a week and she is mad everyone in the barnmust know no matter if they are horse or human

He LOVES to compete. I can't stand him by the in-gate before a class, he won't sit still...keeps pawing and shaking his head.

yea I have to get on the little guy (woody) every once in a while as he gets away with things with the lesson kids and needs to be reminded to behave

yea she loves to go to shows hates being left home she tries to get on any trailer that pulls into the barn

I am getting ready to move my horse to another barn, one that's a lot closer.
