FIND A FAN CAMPAIGN Empty FIND A FAN CAMPAIGN

Post by willgirl Fri Jun 13, 2008 12:52 pm

I'm restarting the find a fan campaign on the new board here!

We have 145! Let's keep going!

My original post:

Are you sad that Bones isn't on until May? Put down the Kleenex and get ready to spread the love with the Find-A-Fan Campaign!

We all know that the writer's strike will have an affect on the ratings, not just for this year, but next year as well. Fans don't know when the show is on anymore!

But you can make a difference! Get out there are start getting some new fans!

Going to get a haircut? Tell your hairdresser all about dimameatous earth!

Picking up the mail? I'm sure your postal worker would love to hear a 10 minute analysis of why Brennan is so closed off from the world!

Then come back here and tell us about the new fan you hooked! There's a counter on the main page that will indicate how many fans everyone's got! And for every ten fans you get, you get a special icon to show off how good you are!

Now this campaign starts today (Sat. Jan. 5th, 2008), so you can't use people you've converted in the past as part of your tally.

And watch the main page for the Find-A-Fan tip of the week!

Don't get caught in Limbo until May! Find-A-Fan instead!

I, sadly, have not recruited anybody. I tried with my horse trainer, but she said it was too "soap opera-y." WTF? Ah well.

I think I finally sealed the deal with my mother and sister... My mom asked me the other day if I'd recorded Bones and could she watch it... and my sister was telling me she's been watching my dvds while I'm at work... so I'm thinking they are hooked now...

Apparently. But like you said, he's good looking, but not amazing. I think you, tears and I are the only 3 who feel this way...at least of the women and face it, we're mostly women on here! Smile LOL

Tivo IS great! I don't know what I'd do without it! Well, I recruited my daughter, but she's only 12 so I don't know if that counts Smile I have been talking about it ALL THE TIME at work so I guess I'm gonna have to resort to calling everyone at 5 til 8pm and remind them. hehehe!

TiVo hasn't made it this far, although I did see an add for it when I bounced through Australia. It was a really strange add too, if that makes a difference.

I've converted a few people, I've lost count though! Mum's become an addict, she was politely yelling at the TV during Wannabe and Pain.

FIND A FAN CAMPAIGN Empty Re: FIND A FAN CAMPAIGN

Post by Illyria Tue Sep 02, 2008 2:30 am

I recruited my husband, who then put the first season on his iPod to catch up. He lent the iPod to his brother at work, who watched four straight eps and got hooked.

Then during the strike, I recruited my mother, who can't get over the fact that a man as hot as DB existed without her knowing it.

And finally, my dad was just in town. I put on Wannabe in the Weeds, saying, "You know, you don't watch anything on Wednesdays, this is on Wednesday, hint hint." He said sarcastically, "Yeah, I've got all the time in the world." Then when Booth blacked out at end of the episode, he was like, "What?! Is that it?" Same thing when he watched aPitH next...he was left wanting more....so there is hope for him yet!
So that's 3 for me - 4 if dad comes aboard!

Post by squirtandmilo Tue Sep 02, 2008 7:22 pm

Oh ho ho. My whole family so sat down and watched Bones last night, even after I left the room to go and try and get some homework done, the watched the whole thing and I could even hear dad laughing. So have them hooked.

That and I caught my sister with my Bones DVDs stashed in her room. I threw a hissy at her cause she wasn't looking after them right. She thought I was mad, but she still took them back. Haha. Busted. And after she said it was crap. Laughing

3 more for the tally.

The middle school psychologist and her husband, who live in my town and who I babysit for sometimes (all the parts of my life are very interconnected). So 2 new fans. Rock on, Bones fans!
An amusing, vaguely related anecdote: As I was dropping off the season 2 DVDs, I passed a history teacher in the halls. When she spotted them, she told me that she LOVES the show and does dancing phalanges to her baby.

FIND A FAN CAMPAIGN Empty Re: FIND A FAN CAMPAIGN

Post by DBCrazy Fri Nov 07, 2008 2:40 am

Hello all, I'm not so much reporting that I found a new fan of the show, as I am reporting Myself as a new fan of the show!

I'd seen the commercials in the past and had been interested, but hadn't watched for who-knows-what-reason (I think I just didn't watch FOX). Then this summer I found Angel (way not my genre!), and from there I've just been looking and finding more and more about DB - TV, internet, movies, fanfic! I've watched the first season, and asked the video store to get the next two. And of course I've been watching everything this season. It's a great show, I like the whole of it!

And if I may, I'd like to reply to a comment made much earlier in this thread
by Meegs82 about DB "... But like you said, he's good looking, but not amazing ..."
Objectively I'd have to agree that he's not amazing. He's good, but not amazing.
But Subjectively ... I can almost swoon at the mere thought of him, let alone watching him ply his trade!
-- And that makes it even Oh.So.Much.Better!

I'm too old for this!
