Haha, she agrees...they just fucked it up. lolKasper wrote:flyersfan35 wrote:That's the only part I didn't like at all...she's not stupid, why on earth would she walk in there so easily, with no suspicions? And she's a freakin' doctor, wouldn't she know better than to pull the scalpel out? I mean, that's what I always thought...though I suppose there are circumstances. And then she walks right into the psychic's place without a thought, once again. It just didn't make sense.Kasper wrote:Something about the whole doctor scene was so off... why would she lock the door behind her BEFORE the doctor even mentioned it. Why would she go talk to someone, alone, at night, without Booth. Why would she then go back to someone who still wasn't technically cleared again alone in almost a similar fashion... something SCREAMS problem...
And then with the clowns, Booth knew that he was supposed to hate them, wasn't that one of the questions that Sweets asked Booth in the beginning?
Something smells like pyridine...
And Isie says that her fighting was pretty weak, even though she can take down a gang leader...
She like thrust her arm into the knife, rather than pushing away the attacking hand. I don't know... somethingwas weird yet.

Re: The Harbingers in the Fountain ~ (S5 PREMIER) ~ SHOW DISCUSSION
Just finished watching for 2nd time and read reviews and comments here. I think Mary M. and THX1138 captured the episode spot on. I aboslutely loved it. I was happy with Sweets analysis, as Booth has been in love with Bones since mid-season two, just won't admit it (my opinion). Not sure why Hanson wrote the scene that way......but was cute that Sweets and Cam are watching out for Bones. Yea....it is out in the open now for Booth....just need to get Bones on board, which I am sure will happen. Just loved the episode, can't wait to see more unfold in the upcoming episodes. Booth is not quite back to his usual cocky self yet.

Something that bugs me about the Sweets/Booth scene and the PET scans ... why is it that nobody thinks that the brain tumor was suppressing his feelings before the surgery and now that it's gone things are the way they really are? After all, it's abnormal behavior that led them to figure something was wrong in the first place??

Exactly! See Sherry, this is why we get along so well, we're both frickin' geniuses! I had the exact same thought and I'm like, helloooo McFly! The tumor's placement would put it near the dorsal caudate body and the ventral tegementum - now assuming it's placement put pressure on those areas it is likely that it surpressed dopamine production which is why the PET scans didn't show him 'in love'. It's also why, once the tumor was removed, that the scans were lit up like a Christmas tree - if anything Booth's feelings for Brennan are now more pronounced because the tumor was surpressing his emotions - and we all know how gaga he was for her then, so he'll be totally out of control in love with her now.DBCrazy wrote:Something that bugs me about the Sweets/Booth scene and the PET scans ... why is it that nobody thinks that the brain tumor was suppressing his feelings before the surgery and now that it's gone things are the way they really are? I think that was an indication that maybe Booth was lying to Sweets( and himself) in order to get his badge back. He knows he's supposed to hate clowns but apparently doesn't and then when he realized that he actually wasn't back to himself yet, he second guessed his feelings for Bones, which is why he back tracked and added the "in an atta girl way" to his ILY. It probably didn't help that Bones preluded the whole conversation with her ramblings about how the heart is not the origin of feelings, those come from the brain.

I love the clippings! I always did wonder about publicity for them, and there it is.
The pic is, I think, from Verdict in the Story, the scene where they're taunting Sweets outside.

So wouldn't the news articles and photos make their undercover operations pretty risky? It was already risky with Brennan being a famous writer and all, with a huge photo on the back covers.queen bess wrote:AWWW BOOTH!!! CLIPPINGS!!!

This is true, but most of their undercover operations that we have seen have been out of state, and it didn't say the title of the paper so it's possible it was a local one or something? *shrugs*
I just like the fact he kept them.

I think Brennan's notoriety as a best-selling author is sometimes overplayed, anyweay. If my favorite author was to walk past me, even in her own town, I don't know that I would recognize her, even though I've looked at her picture several times. And if those articles aren't front page, it's not as though everybody and their brother have seen them. And what's the last publicity we've heard of that Brennan's done for her books? (I know she could be doing more than we've seen, but I would think the FBI might discourage excessive exposure)

Re: The Harbingers in the Fountain ~ (S5 PREMIER) ~ SHOW DISCUSSION
Ok, I liked that epi, just made me feel like back in season 1, showing how they work and stuff, and I think Cyndi`s Fearless was just perfect choice. Suprisingly Cyndi did great job in that epi, really liked her. I liked it we got some figitng and shooting, its FBI after all, but I would expect a bit more from Bren`s martial art training than letting the guy stab her In my opinion everyone made Booth more confused about what he thinks and feels thatn he was before xD But cards say it all works out eventualy so lets hope thats true

I agree completely. But as it is overplayed, I feel they should at least address it when they're going undercover. They made their bed; they should lie in it. I mean, this is the FBI we're talking about, they shouldn't take chances like that even if the risk is not too great.dawnsfire wrote:I think Brennan's notoriety as a best-selling author is sometimes overplayed, anyweay.
But that would be lame because then we'd never get to see them undercover =P

I don't know. Authors, even famous authors, get little face time. Besides, most people, I think, don't pay too much attention to the faces on the back cover of their books (or on the front cover for that matter. Skip Gates, anyone?).
And even if you do pay attention... I'm used to seeing Gabriel Garcia Marquez' picture and I'd easily recognize him on tv or on mags. I've even heard him speak enough that I have a decent grasp on the timbre of his voice. But would I know if he was sitting next to me in a restaurant? Who knows -maybe. Now, would I make the connection (name-face), if I met him in a completely different context and under a different name? Doubtful. Probably not. And Brennan doesn't have a Nobel prize, so...

Re: The Harbingers in the Fountain ~ (S5 PREMIER) ~ SHOW DISCUSSION
I finally got a chance to rewatch it--can anyone tell me what Brennan says following the fight scene when Booth is cradling her? She says "thank you" and there is some sort of sibilance--hiss of pain or Seeley? Fox does not CC every word (grr!) so I can't be sure. First pass sounded like Seeley; I went back and listened to it a few times and couldn't make it out.
I'm such a romantic, sometimes... I know what I want it to be!

Yes, again I agree, but the writers decided to establish Brennan as quite recognisable, so they should face the consequences of that, or at least acknowledge it. The FBI wouldn't take a risk like that would they? It's a small chance but we're talking about life or death situations. I'm happy with them going undercover, but I'd like it if they'd mentioned just once that Brennan's exposure (and certainly Booth's) could be an issue, and then just brush it off or whatever floats their boat.
