Ok so I was going through to find my old stories on the Boneyard so I could update them and it turns out that they deleted them. So I am a little pissed right now. So here is Emily and Temperance and I am writing the next chapter after I post these
******************************************************

"Hey Bones pack your bags we are going to LA,"said Booth barging into his partner's office. Seeley Booth was Temperance Brennan's wonderful and quite frankly annoying partner. He always seemed to get on her nerves and he was darn good at it.

"You know the last time you said that we wound up arresting a prostitute who murdered another prostitute for a guy,"said Brennan keeping her eye on her work.

"Hey I know what happened, but this is different. We have been asked to come down to LA by the FBI down in California,"said Booth holding out a white piece of paper with their names written on it.

"Why exactly have they asked us to come?"asked Brennan.

"Apparently there is this weird FBI gala thing and they thought we would make friends with a lot of the important people there. Besides most of the agents down there are big fans of what you do, including the ones who work in homicide," said Booth taking a seat in front of Temperance's beautiful office. As the greatest forensic anthropologist anywhere near the area she had an amazing office. With a wall of books and a mummy in a case in the back corner. Also she had a nice desk with about 3 extremely high tech computers. Her office was one of the best in the lab, not including her best friend Angela's whose office held a very rare holographic computer program called the Anglator in the back. Yeah, this place was home for her and her "squint squad" or "squints" as Booth liked to call them. She didn’t like leaving the lab because if she did that would mean being away from her comfort zone. Away from her friends. Even though she left her friends, she still had Booth. She and Booth had a strange relationship. He is her friend, her confidant. Because of her lack of social skill, Temperance didn’t know if that is the definition of a boyfriend or not. According to Angela that is the definition of a boyfriend. But Booth isn’t her boyfriend. He is just a friend. Isn’t he?

“Bones, hello did you hear me?” asked Booth who snapped her out of her crazy thoughts.

“Huh, Oh yeah um a gala huh. Seems like a good excuse just to get us to LA,”said Brennan.

“Why would they want us there?” asked Booth.

“Well, we’ll get there and a murder will so happen to show up. Then they will say ‘hey since you are her why don’t you solve the murder’. And then we will be stuck with a homicide case,” said Brennan.

“Hey you’re the one who always says not to jump to conclusions,” said Booth.

“Yeah, well I guess just don’t like to go on vacation,”said Brennan looking down.

“Ok what human being doesn’t want to go on a vacation,”asked Booth.

Brennan just looked up at Booth with a nasty look.

“Oh that’s right you’re not human, you’re an extremely smart test subject from Planet Vulcan,”said Booth.

She just gave him an even nastier look and that stopped Booth from saying anything else.

“Okay just pack your bags, we are leaving tonight. Oh and remember to pack a nice dress,” said Booth and with that he was out the door.

***************************************************
It had been a long day at the FBI in LA. Emily Lehman had just gotten back from trying to negociate with an HT who had three hostages in an airplane that he threatened to blow up. Her partner and boyfriend, Matthew Flanery, was somewhere in Montana for who knows what.

At that moment her boss, Cheryl Carrera, had stopped by her desk. Every time she did that they usually had a case.*Oh great we just had a case. What could she possibly want now*Emily thought.

“Here is your invitation to the National Federal Bureau of Investigation Gala,”said Cheryl handing Emily a very nice letter.

“The national what?”asked Emily taking another look at the white letter.

“It is and FBI gala that they hold every five years for agents across the country,”said Cheryl.

“Where is it?” asked Emily.

“The Los Angelas International Convention Center,” said Cheryl giving an invitation to Lia who had just passed by.

“Wait a gala filled to the top with FBI agents from around the country, count me in,” said Lia.

“So do you know who all is coming,”asked Emily.

“Well mostly every agent from LA plus some from Bureaus all over the nation,”said Cheryl.

“Alright I’ll go I guess if I have to,” said Emily.

“Well actually you do have to. It is completely mandatory for anyone who is invited,” said Cheryl.

“What is this girl pow wow about,” asked Frank Rogers.

“The FBI gala,” said Lia.

“Wait we have to go to a gala, that sucks,” said Frank.

“You all need to stop complaining and start shopping. The gala is tommorow. Oh and there is an orientation later today at 6 for the agents coming to LA and I expect you all to be there,” and with that she off to her office.

“First, we have to go to this gala thing, and now we have to go to orientation. What is this jail?” asked Frank.
As Emily opened her mouth to speak a familiar face walked in the door. He was talking to a woman. No wait scratch that, he was arguing with this woman.

“Bones I don’t care what you think. In order to save money they gave us one room. Just relax it has two bedrooms so we can sleep in different rooms,” said Booth to his partner at the doorway.

“Wait I know him,” said Emily observing their new visitors.

“Who that guy. He’s cute,” said Lia turning her attention to Booth.

“Yeah, like I have seen him before. He is pretty cute,” said Emily.

“Well if you know him then go introduce yourself,” said Frank.

“No, I mean what if he doesn’t recognize me at first,” said Emily cowering behind her desk.

“Well if you won’t then I will,” said Frank who started his way towards the pair.

“It is not that it’s just I like my privacy. It shows anthropological dominance in a small subculture,”said Brennan.

“What the he11 are you talking about Bones,” said Booth. But before she could respond, Frank Rogers cut in.

“Um Excuse me. Hi, I’m Frank Rogers. I work here at the Bureau,” said Frank.

“Well obviously,”said Brennan.

“Bones could try to show some kindness to people,” suggested Booth.

“Sorry about my partner, she has very low people skills,” said Booth.

“Hey,” said Brennan.

“Hi I’m Special Agent Seeley Booth and this is my partner, Dr. Temperance Brennan. We work at the Bureau in D.C.,” said Booth outstretching his hand to Frank.

“Well you do. I work at the Jeffersonian Institute in D.C. I am forensic anthropologist,” said Brennan.

“Aw, a squint,” said Frank.

“Does every cop call scientist “squints”,”said Brennan emphazing on the word squint.

“Well I want you to meet some of my friends,”said Frank leading them to Emily and Lia.
“Hi, I am Lia Mathers. I am a computer specialist here,”said Lia.

“You know I was doing an examination on a computer specialist the other day. Course he was dead,” said Brennan.

“I’m Special Agent Seeley Booth and this is my partner, Dr. Temperance Brennan. She is a forensic anthropologist,” said Booth.

“Wait did you say your name was Seeley Booth,” asked Emily from behind.

“Uh yeah,” said Booth.

“It’s me Seeley, Emily Lehman,” said Emily.

“Emily, wow is it good to see you,” said Booth giving Emily a hug.

“Uh you know each other,” asked Brennan.

“Yeah Seeley is my old boyfriend,” said Emily.

“Uh-oh,” said Frank and Lia at the same time.

“Wait you were her boyfriend,”asked Brennan to Booth.

“Well yeah, but relax Bones we aren’t anymore,” said Booth.

“Mmm-hmmm,” said Lia and Frank at the same time.

“Hey Seeley would you like to have dinner with me tonight. You know , to catch up” said Emily.

“NO,” said Frank, Lia, and Brennan all at the same time.

Both Emily and Booth looked at their friends with suprised expressions on their faces. Both of them saw no harm in a casual dinner, but their friends knew better. Brennan knew all about how Booth liked to relive old times with his ex-girlfriends. And Lia and Frank knew that when Emily was in the presence of a hot guy, some thing is bound to happen.

“No. Your not our parents or anything,” said Booth who said they but really was referring to Bones.

“Yeah it is just a casual dinner between two old friends,” said Emily obviously annoyed with her collegues reactions.

“Yeah excuse us for one second,” said Frank who pulled the two girls, Lia and Brennan, apart into a little huddle.

“Ok I know you just met us and everything, but Emily already has a boyfriend. He is very protective of her. And we know that Emily is not really that resistent to hot men,” said Lia to Brennan. Frank nodded his head in aggrement.

“Yeah, Booth has the same problem with sexy women,” said Brennan.

“Well is he your boyfriend,” asked Lia.

“What, No we are just partners,” said Brennan.

“Well I thought you said that he doesn’t have a good resistenst with hot women. And well let’s face it, you are real pretty,” said Frank smiling at Brennan.

“Oh well thank you,” said Brennan blushing.

“Hey you two let’s focus,” said Lia snapping the two out of their moment.

“Right well what do we do. I mean we can’t just say no. They’re right we aren’t their parents,” said Brennan.

“Well we need an excuse to get them out of their work,” said Frank.

“Um excuse me Dr. Brennan. There has been a development,” said an agent who had been eavesdropping on their little conversation.

“What kind of development are we talking about,” said Brennan who spotted a manila folder in his right hand. That only meant one thing.

“Well sorry to bother you but a body was found in a ravine,” said the agent who handed the folder over to Brennan.

“Well that’ll work,” said Lia.

“This is the exact thing that we need,” said Frank grabbing the file out of Brennan’s hands.

“Hey give that back,” said Brennan snatching it back from him. “You are not a part of homicide I take it, so you can’t look at it,” she said.

“Fine but as long as it keeps this guy out of Emily’s pants tonight, I’m fine,” he said causing Brennan to sharply turn her head towards Booth at the mention of sex.

“Booth,” said Brennan running over to him and interrupting the conversation that Emily and Booth were having.

“Bones what was that all about,” asked Booth.

“What was what about,” she asked back.

“You three discussing if me and Emily should go out to dinner tonight. I mean what is the big deal. It is just a dinner. You know me and you go out to dinner almost every night,” said Booth with his hands on his hips.

“You and I Booth not me an you,” Brennan said matter-of-factly.

“Bones,” said Booth who was very annoyed at Brennan’s smart a** comments.

“Ok ok, but that is different,” she said.

“How exactly is that different Bones. Just like you and I we are just two colleagues going to get something to eat,” said Booth.

“Yeah but I am not your ex-girlfriend,” said Brennan.

“Oh so that is what this is about. Bones that was a long time and we weren’t even that crazy about each other. We were just friends,” he explained.

“Friends with benefits,” she added.

“What are you...wait a second. Bones are you jealous?” asked Booth.

“What, no I just know what you tend to do with your ex-girlfriends,” said Brennan referring to Rebecca.

“Me and Rebecca that is different,” he said.

“Ok what about dating colleagues,” she said.

“Like who?” he asked.

“Cam,” Brennan said.

“Ok know you are going to wave the Cam thing in my face,” said Booth.

“Yeah because you always tend to date your colleagues or ex’s and you know what Emily is both. So now you have the double package,” Brennan was starting to scream.

“Just face it Bones, you’re jealous,” he said smiling.

“I am not,” she said.

“Yes you are,” he said.

“Am not.”

“Are too.”

“Am not.”

“Are too.”

“Excuse me,” Emily said. Apparently both of them hadn’t realized that Emily was standing right in front of them the whole time. “I don’t mean to butt in but Dr. Brennan has a case file in her hand,” she said.

“Yeah so you aren’t going on the date because we have a case,” Brennan said holding the file that she was about to slap Booth with if he didn’t shut up about her being jealous.

“Wait why did we have this whole conversation if you knew I wasn’t going anyway,” he asked her remembering the time he had put her through the whole gun application process even though he knew he wasn’t going to give the gun to her anyway.

“Well you started it,” she said.

“I did not,” he said.

“Maybe you two should just go to the crime scene so you don’t end up in another wrestling match,” said Emily breaking up there little “wrestling match”.

Brennan stood there with a confused look on her face. She was never good with expressions. Then Booth pulled her downstairs and to the parking structure so they could leave to go to the crime scene.

Back at the FBI building it was Emily’s turn to get mad at her friends.

“What do you guys think you were doing. He’s right we were just friends and we still are. I mean he is just friends with Dr. Brennan and she is a woman,” Emily said.

“Oh come on those two claim to be friends but you can cut the sexual tension between them with a butter knife,” Frank said.

“Well then if he has her, then there is nothing to worry about,” said Emily.

“Um no. They do seem perfect for each other but he won’t make a move. You can still get wrapped up in his charm,” said Lia.

“Yeah and you have a boyfriend that would be pi$$ed if he found out you went on a date with another guy,” Frank said.

“It is not a date. He says he goes out to dinner with her all the time,” Emily said.

“Yeah but they don’t realize that it really is a date,” said Lia.

“So what are you saying that I am not allowed to go to dinner with him ever,” she said.

“Yeah,” they both said.

“You can’t do that. You not in charge of what I do or who I do it with,” Emily said.

Emily then walked off to go discuss the ball with Cheryl.

“Maybe we can’t,” said Frank.

“But her boyfriend can,” said Lia with a devious smile.

********************************************
Their case had been nothing more than an old lady dying from a heart attack when she was in her car. The car had been stolen and the body was left to rot.

Booth and Brennan were left driving back to their hotel late at night. They were both very quiet due to their “disagreement” as Brennan would have liked to call it. Brennan sat in the passenger side fiddling with her jumpsuit that was designed for her usage in the field. Booth was driving and was tapping his fingers to the rock music on the radio.

Finally after a long silence Brennan, being the nonsocial one, spoke, “What exactly happened back then.”

“What the h*ll are you talking about?” asked Booth jolted out of his thoughts by her sudden outburst. *Why does she always do that?* he asked himself.

“You know, you and Emily. What happened when you guys were dating. Why did she break up with you?” asked Brennan.

“What makes you think that she broke up with me,”he asked taken aback by her accusation.

“No offense but you just aren’t the guy who breaks up with girls like Emily and Rebecca and Tessa,” said Brennan.

“Why do you always want to talk about my girlfriends,” said Booth. *I bet she is jealous* thought Booth mentally teasing her for her consistent questions.

“I am an anthropologist. I am an observer. I enjoy observing your sexual relationships,” said Brennan. Booth looked at Brennan at the mention of the last statement. It, of course, took her a minute to realize what she had she just said. “Not like that. I just mean it is kinda of what I do. I enjoy it,” said Brennan who mentally kicked herself for saying that she enjoyed observing Booth’s sexual relationships. *I have got to stop rabbling on* she thought.

“You know what it could be,” said Booth giving Brennan one of his famous charm smiles.

“What,” she said not really sure is she wanted to hear the answer.

“You’re jealous of Emily. You know she is stealing my time with you,” said Booth who smiled even more.

“WHAT! No that is not it. I like Emily. She is nice and obviously a good negotiator. Plus she has got a great name,” she said.

“What does her name have to do with anything?” asked Booth.

“I don’t know I just have always liked the name Emily,” said Brennan.

“Ok, well I still think you’re jealous,” said Booth.

“I’m not and you still haven’t answered my question,” said Brennan.

“What question?” he asked her.

“You know about you and Emily’s relationship past,” said Brennan using the word “past” the way Angela used it. Angela told her it meant something about two people’s sexual relationship a long time ago.

“Fine I’ll tell you. I met Emily when I was just beginning my training as an army ranger. I was in New York for a month,”

“Why?” asked Brennan.

“Because they asked me. You know what you need to stop interrupting me,” said Booth getting on to her for her very rude interruption.

“Ok sorry,” said Brennan.

“As I was saying, I met her in an old coffee shop we then talked awhile. Eventually we got together, we were then together for 2 years,” said Booth.

“2 yeas!” exclaimed Brennan.

“Yeah, we were really close. I actually thought about marrying her at one point in time. I was pretty sure she wanted to marry me too. Then one day she said she was moving to Los Angeles to further pursue her career in negotiating,” Booth explained.

“Couldn’t you just go with her. I mean couldn’t she just go to DC or you go to L.A. with her?,” she asked.

“No I was assigned to DC and she was better off in LA. We continued to communicate via email and telephone, but after awhile our relationship dissipated into nothing,” said Booth.

“I’m sorry it didn’t work out,” said Brennan.

“Na, it’s ok. She has a boyfriend she seems pretty happy with and I am ok with that,” said Booth trying to hide the hurt not evident to Brennan in his voice.

“So you’re ok with having no girlfriend,” said Brennan.

“You know what Bones, it doesn’t really matter if I have a girlfriend or not. You know I am happy the way I am and if I need someone else in my life then I’ll know it when I see them(yeah right, um hello Brennan. Oh yeah I am the one writing this),” said Booth.

“So you believe in love at first sight,” asked Brennan.

“No, I believe that if two people are made for each other then fate will pull them together,” said Booth getting a tad uncomfortable *Why does she always ask these questions.*

“Fate is not a rational belief,” said Brennan warping into her weird anthropologist mode.

“Whatever Bones. Oh, hey this is the hotel,” said Booth pulling his SUV into the hotel parking garage. The hotel was a large white building obviously made for the movie star type. “The Coronado. This looks like a pretty upscale place to house a hundred FBI agents,” said Booth instinctively grabbing Brennan’s bag and taking the luggage to the lobby.

The lobby was filled with many people wearing black suits or business skirts and blazers. Booth led her over to the long wait at the check in desk. Finally when it was their turn the women at the counter looked very disheveled by the mass of FBI agents checking in.

“May I help you,” the check-in lady said.

“Uh yes, Special Agent Seeley Booth and Dr. Temperance Brennan,” Booth said to the woman.

“Um yes, was that one or two beds,” asked the woman.

“Two,” they both answered at the same time.

“Ok, your room number is 340. Here is your key and here is the number to call if you need anything,” said the woman handing Booth the key and number.

They made their way up to their room and slid the key into the door. The room was small but quaint and homey. Not to mention beautifully decorated. The two beds were to the left with small night stands by each one. There was a small kitchen area with a small table. There was an are with a desk and chair in the back. But the furnishings and layout didn’t compare to the beautiful view from their terrace.

It was late but the lights of the surrounding land made it look like lights on a Christmas tree. Brennan stood their observing the California coast. Booth motioned for her to help him unpack but she was too busy looking at the dark ocean.

“Um Bones we should probably unpack. We have a long day tomorrow,” said Booth stepping on to the terrace to talk to his partner.

“Yeah, we should. You know when I was little my parents took me and Russ to California. We stayed at this exact hotel. You know what’s crazy,” Booth nodded his head, “We stayed in room 340,” said Brennan letting a single tear drop from her fragile face.

“Oh Bones I am so sorry,” said Booth. He knew how hard it was for her and he tried to comfort her the best he could.

“I remember learning what the sunset was after standing on this exact terrace, listening to the ocean waves and watching my mom and my dad look at it. I thought it was a picture a big giant had drawn. Now it seems silly,” said Brennan. Booth came and stood by her lightly putting a hand on her shoulder and letting her know that he was there for her. But how, he had his old girlfriend to charm. He shouldn’t care about her. Should he?

As her mind was racing, her body was growing tired. “We should get some sleep. I am getting tired,” said Brennan stepping back into the room.

“Bones are you ok?” Booth asked kindly.

“Yeah I’m fine Booth just a little, I’m fine,” said Brennan grabbing her suitcase and searching for some shampoo. “I’m gonna take a shower,” she said.

Booth was worried about her. First this mess about her wanting to know about him and Emily and now she was staying in the same room where her family had once stayed on vacation. He always hated seeing her think about the parents that abandoned her and the brother that left her twice. It just wasn’t right. This wonderful woman didn’t deserve to be abandoned and by her own family. Booth swore that he would never leave her no matter what happened. He would be there for her.

Brennan turned on the water and let the water trickle down her body like a small stream running down a large mountain. The steam from the hot water felt good. She just had to relax. Relax. That was the pathetic excuse for ignoring her troubles. She had never really wanted to think much about her childhood. It just reminded her more of her parents and Russ and what they did to her. She just wanted to erase it out of her mind. But she knew that that was impossible. As her hair got more wet and her body released the pressure she let out a small breath. She would get through this. It was just a hotel room. What did it matter? But deep down Brennan knew that it mattered. It mattered a lot.

After her shower she dressed and got ready for bed. When she got out of the bathroom Booth was already dressed in his pajamas and was watching TV on his bed.

“Hey Bones you feel better,” asked Booth, concern etched in his deep brown eyes.

“Yes Booth I am and it doesn’t matter how I feel to you,” said Brennan trying to ignore those beautiful eyes stuck on her.

“Right, sorry,” said Booth trying not to annoy her because she was in a fragile place now and he didn’t want to make it harder on her.

“Goodnight Booth,” said Brennan getting into her bed and pulling the covers over her.

“‘Night Bones,” said Booth the concern now very evident in his voice. He really did care for her and he wanted her to know that he was always there for her. But he didn’t know how to let her know. Little did he know that he would have the opportunity to tell her very soon.

****************************************
Brennan stood, alone, on a rooftop. She didn’t know where she was or what had taken her there. All she knew was that she was very high up and it was quiet. More quiet than anything that she had heard. It was as if everything and everyone in the universe had dissipated and the only thing left was the building and her.

Then someone grabbed her and turned her around to face her. To Brennan’s surprise, it was her mother. How? Her mother was dead. Was she dead? Was this heaven? Brennan didn’t know. She didn’t want to know. All she wanted to do was hug her mother.

Then her father appeared, then her brother, then Angela, then the rest of the squints, then Sully, then all her previous boyfriends, or friends or other people important in her life, and then there was Booth. She didn’t know why but the only people she was really happy to see was her mother, and to her surprise, Booth.

She was so happy. Everyone she has loved or cared about was right there in front of her. If this was heaven, then did they all die? What was going on? Brennan was in a mixture between happiness and confusion. She didn’t know which emotion she wanted to feel. She just didn’t know.

Then the mood changed. It all of sudden shifted like two plates in an earthquake. Instead of people smiling at her, they all looked, well what was the word? Evil. They all looked evil. Why? They were the ones that loved her? Why did they look like that?

Brennan all of sudden, instead of feeling happy and secure while she was in the presence of the people she loved, she felt scared. Then her mother grabbed her. This time it wasn’t a gentle touch, it was a forceful and angry touch. She was fighting to get away. Why? She loved her mother. Didn’t her mother love her back? What scared her even more was that everyone else started to grab her. Even Booth. Booth was supposed to be there for her. Why was he grabbing her. Fighting her. Everyone was fighting her.

Then they picked her up. Took her to the side of the building. They were swaying her. Why? Why? WHY? They were the ones who loved her. Did everyone in her life hate her? What was going on. She knew they were going to drop her. They were o kill her. “No, no, NO,” she screamed, but they wouldn’t listen. Tears began to fall.

Then it happened they let go. It was as if they were letting go of there love for her. Then she screamed. She screamed like she had never screamed before. As she fell she didn’t realize that her name was being called off in the distance. “Bones, bones, TEMPERANCE!” it screamed.

As the ground neared and her and her near death was coming closer, and closer, and closer until...

“AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH,” Temperance screamed as she woke up out of one of the worst nightmares she has ever had. Her body was covered in sweat and Booth was standing over her with a worried expression on his face.

He had heard her stirring in her bed earlier. Then he heard her crying. That was when he started to worry. She started to scream and her arms and legs started flailing. She was probably having a nightmare, but by her behavior it was a bad one.

He got out of his bed and tried to wake her up. He was scared she was having a spaz or something. He was just scared that she would be mentally scarred because she seemed to be very scared.

She was relieved that it was a dream. But did it mean something? Did everyone in her life really not care about her? She was so scared. What the h*ll was wrong with her? She didn’t normally have these emotional moments. Why did she have it now?

“Bones are you okay?” Booth asked. He didn’t expect her to answer, but her response he did get surprised him.

Brennan was scared, and emotionally fragile. She did the only thing that she could think of. She needed help right now. She needed care and support. Even though Booth was one of the people who “killed her” in her dream she hugged him.

She felt safe in his arms. She felt like she belonged there. She just cried into his shoulder for what seemed like an eternity but what was really an hour. Maybe she was wrong. Maybe Booth really did care about her.

“It’s ok. It was just a dream. I’m here now. It’s ok,” he repeatedly said to her. He didn’t know what that dream was about but he knew that for her to be irrational like this, it must have been a one that she will never forget.

After awhile he heard her sobbing die down and thought it would be a good time to discuss what happened.

“Booth,” her voice was scratchy. She sounded afraid. And he didn’t know why. “Booth does everyone I have ever loved in my life hate me,” she said.

“What...what do you mean?” he asked

“Does everyone I have ever loved just not care about me and just leave me?” she asked again. By then Booth was even more confused. What was she talking about? Although he thought it had something to do with her parents and Russ leaving her twice and Sully and every other boyfriend she had leave her.

“Bones are you going to tell me about your dream?” he asked.

“I was in the middle of nowhere on top of a building. Then my mom appeared, and at first I was happy. Everyone I ever loved, just as a friend or more, was there. I was so happy. I felt safe. Then all of a sudden... I just... then you... then I,” but before she could finish she broke down crying.

Booth saw her cry and he knew that he had to be there for her. He had to comfort her. He took his emotionally fragile partner into his arms. She started to sob into his shirt and stain it. She just cried and cried and cried until she had cried herself to sleep.

“Bones, Bones, are you asleep?” he realized she was asleep and gently laid her down on her bead. He was about to pull the covers over her petite body when he noticed a gold locket linked around her neck. *I have never seen that before* he thought reaching out and undoing the necklace from her neck.

He pried it open and noticed a very beautiful picture of Bones and her mother back when she was about 3 or 4. *Wow poor thing wears this thing around all the time. And it probably reminds her of when she was little. No wonder she was so spooked about this dream.

He couldn’t take his eyes off of her. She was so vulnerable. She was probably scared of her vulnerability. He eventually went back to his bead, her locket in hand, and fell asleep just admiring the beauty of his partner.

Temperance awoke with a jolt. She had never felt that scared in a while. What was she thinking, giving herself to Booth like that. She knew it was irrational to cry like that, especially in front of a man. Especially in front of Booth.

She reached up to her neckline and noticed that a very important asset was missing. Where was it? She ran around the room looking. Flipping up cushions. Throwing clothes. Looking through papers. She could not have lost her favorite artifact from her past! Where was it?

Booth had heard her get up. And he had heard her messing up the room. She sounded like she was searching for something. He felt something in his hand and that is when he realized what she was searching for. He got up and walked over to her and gently placed his arms on her shoulders to calm her down.

She felt big, firm hands on her shoulders. She felt like she needed to be comforted. She had lost one of her most valuable items. “Booth I...,” she stopped when she realized what he was holding in his hands. Relief had washed out of her. Where did he find that?

He saw her face light up when she saw the necklace. *God she looks so beautiful when she is happy*

“I found it,” he said undoing the necklace and slowly hooking the necklace around her neck. After he hooked it he traced the train down her neck all the way down to the locket. He knew how hard this was for her.

She looked up at him. His chocolate brown eyes had so much concern etched into them. She knew he would never leave her. He would be there for her. They looked into each other’s eyes and just inched their faces closer together. In her more logical side of her head she was telling herself that it was completely irrational and the other side of her head just wanted to yank that head of beautiful black hair and kiss him for eternity. She knew that the irrational side would win so she just came closer to his face until...

“RINNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNG,” the familiar ring tone of Booth’s phone rang through their hotel room. Brennan’s more rational side was starting to take over. Brennan grabbed her clothes and slipped into the bathroom to change.

When she was finished changing she came out only to meet Booth already dressed in his usual suit and tie.

“Hey Bones, we are going to meet Emily and the rest of her friends for brunch,” said Booth picking up Brennan’s purse and forcing her out the door. For some reason Brennan thought that she wouldn’t be getting that kiss anytime soon because of a certain FBI agent named Emily.

Emily and Temperance -- posted by Glug Glug Woohoo [14/10/2007] Empty Re: Emily and Temperance -- posted by Glug Glug Woohoo [14/10/2007]

******************************************
The car ride was quiet again. She could tell that Booth wasn’t paying much attention to her; his mind was elsewhere. His mind was with Emily.

They arrived at a fairly nice restaurant entitled “The Summit”. They passed through the large, wooden doors and into a beautifully decorated room probably used often for wedding receptions or business conventions and lunches. There were about 30 round tables with fine table cloths and nice, silver silverware. It seemed like a quaint place to eat.

Emily, Cheryl, Lia, and Frank were seated at a round table in the middle of the room. Emily stood up, once she saw Booth and Bones, and waved them over to their table.

“Seeley, I am so glad to see you,” Emily said hugging Booth and showing him her gorgeous smile.

“Yeah, same here. Sorry we didn’t get to have our dinner last night. We were there for awhile and I was exhausted by the time I got back to the hotel,” said Booth returning her smile with his handsome ‘charm smile’.

*Oh please. He was not tired last night. He couldn’t wait to get something to eat at the hotel. And I believe that that ‘I’ should be changed to a ‘we’* Brennan thought as she mentally corrected his irrational facts.

“Brennan you can sit by me,” said Lia gesturing Brennan over to an empty seat reserved for her. Lia knew that Brennan was jealous by the look she gave Booth and Emily. Everyone could tell that. Lia and Frank vowed that they would be a friend to Brennan, even if Booth wasn’t.

“Thanks,” Brennan quietly replied back, forcing a fake smile to flash across her lips.

Everyone got up to grab their food from the buffet, laughing and talking about nothing in particular, that is, everyone except Brennan.

Booth didn’t notice that Brennan wasn’t even touching her food, like he always does. She missed that. She wasn’t jealous of Booth flirting with Emily and not her, no; she was in a time of emotional hurt. She had had a dream that made it seem like everyone she had ever loved, always left her. By past the series of past events, it had proven that dream right. She missed his comfort, his warm arms wrapped around her in a firm hold, his loving words to her, telling her that she would be alright. That was what she missed.

“Excuse me,” said Brennan slipping off to the bathroom. No one, except Lia, noticed her quiet and unknown exit.

Brennan sat down on a bench outside the bathroom door and just let the tears fall. She was always a rational person. She was a forensic anthropologist who believed that the truth is more important that what she felt. But now, for the first time since she was young, she let her feelings overpower the truth. Deep down she knew that it was right, despite what her extremely smart anthropologist side said was irrational. She had to vent. She had to let it all out.

After a couple minutes of ‘Brennan time’ a strange man approached her. He was no doubt handsome. He was well groomed, and he smelled nice. He was definitely a ladies man. He came up to her a put a hand on her shoulder. Brennan was worried. Should she except this gesture as a threat and take his arm and flip him on the ground? Or should she accept it as a way of showing compassion and understanding.

“Are you ok?” asked the stranger. He seemed kind enough to not be threat, but if there is one thing that she learned in her two years of law enforcement, it was to never trust anyone.

“Sorry, I haven’t introduced myself properly. Hi I am Special Agent Mathew Flanery,” Matt said sticking his hand out to her.

“Your Emily Lehman’s boyfriend,” Brennan blurted because of her lack of social skill.

“Nice to meet you too,” said Matthew.

“Sorry, hi my name is Dr. Temperance Brennan,” said Brennan shaking his hand.

“So how do you know Emily,” asked Matt, led by his curiosity.

“Oh well I just met her yesterday. I work at the Jeffersonian in D.C. with my partner, Special Agent Seeley Booth. Apparently he and Emily were a pretty close couple,” said Brennan informing Matt of the situation.

“Oh I get it. So you are jealous of Emily ‘cause you’re his girlfriend,” accused Matt.

“What no we are just partners,” said Brennan. *God, he hasn’t even met Booth and he is already accusing. Why does everyone think that* Brennan thought to herself. “You know what, I think I am going to go back and finish my meal,” said Brennan standing up.

“Here let me go with you,” said Matthew offering his hand. Brennan being Brennan didn’t accept it and walked past him.

“Hey! Emily Matt is here,” shouted Lia from the table spotting Temperance and Matthew walking in.

“Huh, Oh hey Matt! Glad to see you back, and walking along side Dr. Brennan, together, very close,” stated Emily spotting the pair come in.

“Hey Emily,” said Matthew, giving Emily a kiss and hug.

“Hi I’m Special Agent Seeley Booth and I see you have already met my partner, Dr. Brennan.” said Booth stretching out his hand to Matt. Matt wasn’t too happy about this man, but because he had to be polite in front of his girlfriend, took it and shook it giving Booth a fake smile. Matt also didn’t like the fact that he was leaving this other girl, Dr. Brennan, in the sand. He could tell that she was jealous and he didn’t like any guy that would do that to a girl.

“Booth you know you should try the pie. It’s great,” said Brennan wanting to get a minute alone with him without making a big deal.

“No thanks, I am kind of full,” said Booth.

“Try the pie,” said Brennan through gritted teeth and nodding her head to the left.

“Oh but I can make room for some dessert,” Booth standing up and following Brennan over to the dessert table.

“Booth we need to talk,” said Brennan once they had reached their desired rendezvous point.

“Well obviously, or else you wouldn’t have rudely asked me over here,” Booth said obnoxiously.

“I’m serious Booth,” said Brennan who was already very agitated with him.

“Ok, ok. What do want to talk about,” Booth said trying to act concerned but failing miserably.

“Booth you’re acting well…different,” said Brennan said Brennan shifting slightly.

“Different. What do you mean different. I don’t feel different,” said Booth oblivious to his recent behavior.

“Yeah, well you have been acting different. You know that I haven’t eaten a thing since we were on the plane yesterday,” said Brennan crossing her arms.

“Yeah, so?” asked Booth.

“So! You always care about how much I eat or how late I stay at the lab. You always force me to eat breakfast, lunch, and dinner. And last night, when I had my nightmare, you comforted me. I felt less scared because of you. Then this morning I almost fell for you. I can’t believe I almost…you know what, I am never making that mistake again,” she said walking back to the table.

“Hey Lia, you want to get out of her. We could do some shopping. You know, get our hair and nails done. We could get ready for the ball,” asked Brennan leaving Booth dumbfounded at the dessert table.

“Yeah sure. Let’s leave this place,” said Lia grabbing her purse and standing up. They both left all their friends, including Booth, dumbstruck at their table.

Hey guys sorry for the long wait but here is the next chapter!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
*****************************************************************
Lia and Brennan had left the banquet and went to the mall. Brennan was still a little shaken from the recent discussion with Booth. They had gone all around the mall. Lia was still trying to get Brennan to tell her what she had talked to Booth about. Lia knew that it had been serious. She saw the look on both of their faces.

They were currently at a nail salon getting manicures and pedicures. Lia was just dying to know what Brennan was thinking about so she struck up a conversation.

“Brennan, I know this is like the fifteenth time I’ve said this but are you ok?” asked Lia from her massage chair in the middle of her pedicure.

Brennan placed the National Geographic she was reading down and turned to face Lia. “Lia, I will answer for the fifteenth time, yes.”

“No Brennan I know you’re not alright. You have been acting all down in the dumps ever since we left everyone at the banquet,” Lia said trying to squeeze the truth out of her new found friend.

“I don’t know what that means,” said Brennan.

“It means that you have been acting down and sad ever since we got here. I think it has to do with what you said to Booth before we left,” said Lia.

“What! Of course not. And even if it did, that is none of your business Lia,” said Brennan turning back to her magazine, if that’s what you want to call it.

“Yes it is my business because you are all my friends and I want to help you.”

“I don’t need help. I hate psychology,” said Brennan.

“This isn’t psychology. This is one woman trying to comfort another woman,” said Lia laying a hand on Brennan’s arm.

“Fine. I told Booth that he wasn’t acting the same.”

“What do you mean,” asked Lia.

“I mean ever since he reunited with his old girlfriend he hasn’t been paying attention to me like he used to,” said Brennan.

“Oh I see.”

“Last night I had this nightmare and since we were in the same room, he comforted me. I liked that. Then this morning we almost kissed until Emily called Booth inviting us to the banquet. After that it was like I was just pushed into the “used” pile,” Brennan sighed.

“Hey, don’t let this guy get the better of you,” said the woman doing Lia’s pedicure.

“Excuse me,” said Brennan caught off guard by the statement.

“I’m sorry that I butted in but really if this guy just wants to brush you off like you were a pile of dust then what’s the use,” said the lady.

“But you don’t know Booth. He has been my partner for two and a half years and I just…I don’t know,” said Brennan.

“Well then if you really want him, give him a piece of his own medicine,” the woman said.

“I don’t understand,” said Brennan.

“Lia here says that yall have a ball, correct,” asked the woman.

“Yeah but, Crystal, what does that have to do with getting back at him,” asked Lia.

“Well, do you have a sexy dress,” asked Crystal.

“Well yeah. My friend Angela bought it but I was just going to get a less revealing one when I got here,” said Brennan.

“No, keep it. Get your hair done, put on a sexy perfume, put on a bunch of makeup, and just do whatever you can to get this guy’s mouth to drop to the floor,” said Crystal.

“I don’t understand,” said Brennan.

“Oy, Lia do you think you can help this poor girl,” said Crystal, looking towards Lia.

“I’m on it,” said Lia grabbing Brennan and running out of the store to the nearest salon.

“Put it on my bill Crystal,” said Lia as they exited the store.

“You got it and make that girl beautiful,” said Crystal.
****************************Later that night
“OH. MY. GOD,” Lia exclaimed as Brennan walked out of the bathroom reluctantly.

“Well what do you think?” asked Brennan as she walked further out the door.

“Two words: Muy caliente!” exclaimed Lia.

“I’m changing,” Brennan said.

“Oh no you’re not. You look amazing. This is exactly what Crystal was saying. No matter how hot Emily looks, Booth’s jaw will drop,” said Lia jumping up and down with excitement.

“I hope so,” said Brennan grabbing her purse.

“Alright we have a ball to get to,” said Lia as they walked out the door to meet the limo.

LET'S GO TO THE BALL!!!!!!

It is wonderful that Brennan has an "Ange" on each coast to help her out. With that "I hope so." from Brennan I'm guessing she is finally admitting that she wants Booth for herself.

Great job! You have my interest once again. Please don't wait so long to update. I need to know what Booth does when he sees her

Hey so I really just wanted to do this chapter. The story is almost over but I am planning on doing a sequel to it! So here it is!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
*************************************************************
Lia and Brennan rented a private limo so they could “go to the ball in style” Lia had said. They pretty much talked about Booth’s reaction to her gorgeous evening gown the entire way. Lia kept spouting out all these different scenarios of when Booth sees Brennan. All Brennan could do was sigh and roll her eyes, but on the inside she was really nervous.

She was scared that if Emily came looking better than her, would Booth even care? Would Booth go all googly eyes on Emily and completely brush Brennan into the shadows. She told Lia this but Lia assured her that he would love it.

Brennan pulled out her cell phone. She was still nervous about the whole thing and even though Lia was a good friend and all she still needed some extra reassurance.

“Angela?” Brennan said as Angela picked up the phone.

“Bren? Is that you?” asked Angela.

“Yeah it’s me,” said Brennan.

“So how’s L.A.?” Angela asked eagerly.

“Terrible,” said Brennan sadly.

“Why what’s going on?” asked Angela.

“Well it’s Booth. You see we went to the FBI and Booth reunited with this old long lost girlfriend of his. Apparently this was some serious relationship. So he just has been ignoring me and it’s starting to bug me,” said Brennan.

“Are you serious,” asked Angela in disbelief.

“Yes. Me and Lia are on our way to the ball,” said Brennan as Lia reached over and grabbed the phone away from her.

“Hi my name is Lia Mathers and I was appointed to job of beautifying your friend here and let me tell you this: She looks so sexy,” said Lia.

“Lia,” exclaimed Brennan.

“Oh don’t worry sweetie. That will definitely make Booth go nuts about you,” said Angela on the other line.

“We got to go. The convention center is approaching. She’ll call you later to tell you all about it,” said Lia happily.

The driver pulled to a stop as Lia hung Brennan’s phone up. The driver walked over to their side and opened the door to let them out. Agents were pouring into the doors at the front of the convention center.

“I feel like I’m at the red carpet,” said Lia smiling for all the agents coming in.

“I don’t know what that means,” said Brennan.

“Ugh never mind. Let’s go!” said Lia pulling Brennan into the center.

They looked around for any sign of the rest of the gang and saw none. So, they decided to walk to their table. No one was there.

“Where is everyone,” Lia said scanning the room for their friends.

“The fact that they’re not here is just making me more nervous,” said Brennan who began to fiddle with her napkin.

“Stop that. Don’t be nervous. You’re the one who is serving the medicine not the patient,” said Lia.

“Oh there they are,” said Brennan spotting there friends. Lia stood up and waved them over.

“Look he is putting his hand in the small of her back. He always did that to me,” said Brennan.

“Remember you’re the pharmacist not the patient,” said Lia.

“Hey everyone,” Rogers said as he gave a hug to Lia and one to Brennan as well.

“Hey Bon…,” he stopped mid-sentence. She looked amazing. Her dress was a silky base color. It had a low cut and he could see most of her cleavage. The dress flowed down to the floor. She looked truly gorgeous. He remembered his expression and reaction when he saw Emily, but this was way better.

“You look…really…hot. I mean you look…nice…yeah nice,” Booth stuttered and stammered which brought a devious smile to Brennan’s lips. She had won. He thought she looked hot. She had truly won.

“Well let’s all sit down and eat,” said Cheryl as they all sat down to eat. Booth never took his eyes off of Brennan the entire time they ate. He knew he was slipping. He couldn’t give in to her. He had drawn the line. The only reason he had continued to flirt with Emily was because he didn’t want to fall for Brennan.

“Hey Emily. Can I have this dance,” said Booth as Emily quickly said yes. This caused the green monster of jealousy to attack both Brennan and Matt. Booth and Emily were laughing as they danced and looked like they were having a good time. Then Booth placed a small peck on her lip, but small or not it was a kiss. And this kiss had caused Brennan to go over the edge.

She politely excused herself and ran outside to the well-groomed gardens. She found a comfortable bench to sit at and cried. She was being so irrational. She told herself that over and over but she couldn’t help it. Booth had broken her heart.

Brennan stood up to leave and walked for awhile. She had regained most of her composure and decided to go back inside when a forceful hand was placed over mouth. Before she had time to fight, three burly men wearing ski masks tied her up and forced her into a black van. While all this was happening, Booth was off dancing with the second best girl of his dreams.
**************************************************
Oooooooooooooooooo cliffe. You hate me don’t you? Aw well I am the writer. So will Brennan die? Or will Booth realize his mistake? Find out after these reviews!

Pst! That’s your cue!

Hey guys. My musie just woke up again so I was inspired to writer this next chapter. I pretty much have an idea of the next couple of chapters so it won’t be too long between each chapter. Enjoy!
**********************************************
“Where’s Bones,” said Booth as he and Emily from their dance. Matt was eyeing Booth intently.

“She excused herself and went outside and into the garden,” said Lia with a bit of an attitude because she knew why Brennan had went outside. Little did she know though, that Brennan wasn’t in the gardens?

“Why,” asked Booth sitting down.

“I don’t know,” said Lia sarcastically.

They talked and conversed over drinks for a little bit longer when Booth realized that Brennan hadn’t come back. It had been thirty minutes and he began to get worried. Why had Bones just run off like that? He scanned the room to see if he could see her but saw no sign of her. He excused himself and walked outside. He walked over the entire expanse of the gardens and still didn’t see her.

He stopped and sat down on a bench. He then reached into his pocket and pulled his cell phone. He opened it and dialed the number one speed dial. He waited a minute when he started to hear the familiar sound of her ring tone.

“Bones,” he called but heard no response. He got up walked further into the bushes. The sound began to get louder.

“Bones, is that you,” he called again but got nothing in reply. He felt something under his foot. That’s when he saw Bones’ purse laying on the ground. There was her cell phone, still ringing. Booth hung up his phone and noticed a small note in the purse. “Your Bones are gone,” it read.

Booth almost screamed. How could this have happened? He thought that since it was an FBI banquet that there would be security. His emotions were spinning around in his head. He was first mad at the lack of security. Then he was mad at himself for letting her just leave. Then he became ashamed of how he treated her.

He knew that the only reason that she was gone was because of him. He had treated her so badly that she was kidnapped. She was taken from him. He sat back down on the bench and cried. He had never cried like that in a long time. It was his fault. It was his entire fault.

Then he realized that he wasn’t helping by sitting and crying. He had to find her. But he had to get the help of Emily’s friends. This is what they did. This was their jobs and he was determined that they would find Bones and bring her back to him.
*****************************************************
Brennan awoke with a jolt. Her head was pounding and she ached all over. She tried to sit up, but when she did her stomach and chest area hurt. She felt around her stomach and realized that she had some broken ribs. She looked at her arms and noticed scratches all over. She was bleeding everywhere and her dress was ripped in several places.

Brennan sat up as far as she could and tried to recognize where she was. It was a dark warehouse. She was sitting among many boxes and was in the corner. It was too dark to notice any other details. That’s when a large man wearing all black came up to her and kicked her hard in the stomach.

She screamed in pain. He then began to tie her to a chair. She was in agonizing pain. Then another man looking very much like the first man came up and slapped her face. Brennan, again, screamed in pain. After that another man came and started to hit her with a pipe.

“Stop,” a voice from the dark shouted at the men. A man who looked much more cleaned up then the other men walked up to Brennan and stared her right in the eyes.

“Well well. Look who decided to wake up. You know you’re friends are true enemies of me. I kidnapped a couple of people one time but your friends caught me. They threw me in jail. Then I escaped from jail and started to hunt them down. That’s when I saw you with that Lia Mathers chick. I hadn’t seen you before. That’s when I made you my target. So who are you and what are you doing with the team,” said the man.

Brennan said nothing. No matter how much it hurt, she wasn’t going to give this man what he wanted. She just stared him in the eye as hard as she could until the man punched her in the eye.

“So you’re not going to talk are you? That’s good because now I get to practice my new torturing techniques. Boys, bring me that cigarette lighter and that knife,” the man said to the other men. They walked off into the darkness and the well-groomed man began to laugh.
************************************************************
Booth ran into the main room and quickly ran over to his table where the team was laughing happily. *Not for long* Booth thought as he sat down.

“Seeley you look like you have just seen a ghost,” said Emily as she stopped laughing and noticed Booth’s expression.

“Bones has been kidnapped,” said Booth bluntly.

“What!? What are you talking about Booth,” Lia said losing her happy expression.

“I found this in her purse just sitting on the ground out side,” said Booth handing Emily the note that Booth had found in her purse.

“Oh my God,” said Lia as she looked at the note.

“How did this happen,” said Cheryl.

“I don’t know. I don’t want to know. I just want to find her and I am going to need your help,” said Booth.

“Of course. We’ll do anything to help,” said Emily.

“Ok where do we start,” Booth said.

“Lia I want you to go and access the security tapes and try to pull anything you can from them,” said Emily pointing towards Lia.

“Yeah, of course,” said Lia who was shaken from this whole thing.

“Cheryl, I know you’re the boss but I want you to interrogate all the security personal or anyone who was out in the garden with Booth,” said Emily.

“Got it,” Cheryl and Booth said.

“Frank I want you to assemble your team. Once we find this guy we want you there ASAP,” said Emily.

“Yeah no problem,” said Frank.

“Matt you and I are going to go to where she was kidnapped from and see if we can’t find anymore clues or evidence or something,” said Emily.

“Alright,” said Matt in reply.

“And Booth,” said Emily turning towards Booth, “we are going to find her. We always do.”

“Thanks Emily. Thank you all,” said Booth. They all nodded their heads in agreement.

“Alright people, let’s get to work,” Cheryl said as they all stood up and went to do their respected jobs.

I hope Booth now realizes how much she means to him, and get rid of that damn line. And your right, you are "keeping it pretty angst"

I have a question. Sometimes in the middle of your classes or during your day do you come on hear. My science teacher last year used to do that. She would just surf the internet for no reason while we were taking a test or doing our homework.

I do sometimes come online during the school day and check this site, but most of my time is spent doing lab work, or assisting students (even during my plan time).

Hey guys I have a bunch of built up chapters. I guess it's your treat!
**********************************
Booth grouchily walked down stairs to the security desk alongside Cheryl. The two hadn’t really talked a lot ever since they got there but Cheryl had real sympathy towards him. He had lost his partner. The partner that had been with him for almost three years. Loosing someone like that was a tragedy in his life.

They walked up to the man at the front desk and they both pulled out their badges and asked to talk to the security personnel that were on duty at the moment. The man directed them to a room where laughing was heard from inside. They opened the door to reveal several man who were lazily stretched out on chairs and eating donuts. Their attention was entirely not focused on the monitors which made Booth fairly mad.

“What are you doing in here,” one of the men asked Booth and Cheryl.

“Yeah, Freddy, why’d you let them in here,” another said.

“Look guys they’re FBI and they are here about the woman who was just kidnapped,” said Freddy causing all the men to stand up quickly and brush off the donut crumbs.

“What kidnapping?” asked one of the men more politely this time.

“What do you mean what kidnapping? Aren’t you supposed to be watching the monitors? It happened in the garden,” screamed Booth. Their laziness was making Booth outraged. While Bones was being kidnapped, these men were lounging about drinking coffee and eating donuts.

All the men turned towards the monitors that held the few garden angles. They were in trouble, but it wasn’t entirely their fault. Where the guards standing guard at this point in time?

“Look we’re sorry about this, but you should probably question Joe, Tom, Hernando, and Jacob. They were the ones standing guard by the garden. Ask them if they saw anyone,” said one of the guards.

Meanwhile Lia and Frank drove back to the FBI headquarters. Lia ran straight upstairs to the computer room to start scanning the security tapes one of the personnel had given her while Frank to collect his team. Lia pressed the button on her keyboard to start the tapes.

All was well. There were agents talking and passing the taped area with not a care to worry about. She waited about five minutes when she saw Brennan’s sad, gloomy body walk over to the area and sit down on a nearby bench. *The kidnappers want to get caught or else they wouldn’t try to kidnap her in a camera’s most perfect angle. They have got to be smarter than that* thought Lia as she typed furiously on her keyboard.

That’s when she saw a black van pull up and just when Brennan stood to get up three very large men wearing ski masks ran out and attacked Brennan. This was the part that Lia had been afraid of watching. She had befriended Brennan and it pained her to see her being captured and tied up before she even had time to fight back. Tears slowly streamed down Lia’s face. This was the most personal case that she had done. She wanted to look away but she couldn’t because of the purpose of the tape.

Brennan was forced into the black van when Lia saw it. She rewind the tape and slowed it down. She still couldn’t get a good grasp of it. She zoomed in but when she did the pixels began to come apart. The picture began to degrade. LLia pushed a couple of buttons and the picture began to become clearer. There on the computer screen was the face of the kidnapper. And the worst part of it all was that Lia knew exactly who it was.
***************************************
Brennan woke up again. She felt even worse than she did when she woke up the first time. She was among some large boxes and was in a pool of her own blood. On her arms were scratches like tiny blades of grass. She ached more. She cried more. And she felt lonelier then ever before. A scary thought came to her mind. What if Booth doesn’t even know? What if he doesn’t even care? These ongoing thoughts brought more tears to her. But not tears of pain, tears of sadness.

The man that was calling the shots walked slowly up to her and stood there watching her. He circled her bloody body with satisfaction, but he didn’t pick her up to hit some more. He didn’t even touch her. He didn’t want her dead when they figured out that she was held here. And he was doing everything he could to make sure that they would find her. He put all the evidence it in place.

“Why aren’t you hurting me?” asked Brennan.

“Because I want your little friends to find you. And I am going to make them suffer by killing you when they get here. You see when your friends find out you’re here they will try to negotiate me out of doing it, but this time I am not going to give in, no matter what. I am going to kill you and they are going to think that it is their entire fault,” said the man laughing an evil laugh.
