The Hershey Bears win their league leading 11th Calder Cup, and second one in a row! Woo hoo, Go Bears!
Of course, they are the Caps farm team...but I can overlook that, lol.

Also, I was extremely happy to see that I wasn't bombarded with the cocky little shit's name and face on NHL.com when I got home last night. It was great to see a lot of good hockey players get recognized with awards last night for their efforts, and Crosby wasn't one of them. It's about time people realized there are more than 2 players and 2 teams in the NHL.
On another note...is it October yet? lol

ha, I got an email, the Sens open their season at home against Buffalo on Oct 9th or something like that.
Here's hopping our team's make good picks tomorrow!!!!!!! I think NY has the 10th pick in the first round. I have no idea where the Sens are picking in any round.

Re: Hockey [Discussion Thread]
Yay draft day tomorrow! Some very interesting trades are rumored to be happening in the next few weeks, starting tomorrow at the Draft.
I heard Spezza wouldn't mind a trade outta Ottawa...
As for the Rangers, I was hoping to get "El Nino," that Swiss junior kid that tore up the World Juniors, but he's been so good that he's more than likely to go earlier. I eagerly await tomorrow, especially because it means that free agency starts really soon, like next week!!

But he's not....he's amazing, and he's not a whiner, or a douche or anything, he is definitely worth first overall....
PS, I don't think Sid is a bitch at all actually.

Hall may not be a bitch, I'm just judging a book by its cover. I'll have to see him play more...
As for Crosby, I believe we may always have differing opinions on that matter...
As for the draft, I'm already in love with the pick we made.

He might be a little bitch douchey though...I just saw an interview....haha, probably just draft day insanity, he usually speaks well. I may think differently of Sid if he played on a western conference team, but the fact is, we've known about him from the time he was about 13 and that kid has handled himself so well and he has never had a asshole embarrassing moment(Patrick Kane....I think that's his name, or Danny Heatly). I think the same thing happened with Wayne Gretzky, people either loved him or hated him, there was no grey area....and he's the best there ever was.
I'm not sure who we took, but we made a trade, and we traded Steve Bernier and Michael Grabner away, and I don't recognize either of the names we got back....I'm not too impressed.....son of a bitch!!

Re: Hockey [Discussion Thread]
I probably wouldn't have hated Crosby if the NHL didn't try to shove him down the throats of the people. But every time I *try* to give him the benefit of the doubt he just does something that I can't still, including diving (which I have seen him do, and he does get the benefit of the doubt of the refs, but that's not up to him), doing some bitchy things in a game such as sneaky bitchy hits or punches. I mean many players might do that, but it's because he does it that annoys me I suppose.
Ballard is a decent defender, however you may remember him from this incident:
I can't wait for next week for free agency to start, and then after that I hope for October to arrive mucho fasto.

Maybe in recent years, but lest we forget:
2004 - Al Montoya
2003 - Hugh Jessiman
1999 - Pavel Brendl
I mean I can keep going...
Besides, look who you've drafted: Sbisa (who you traded for Captain Douchebag), JVR, Giroux, Steve Downie, Bartulis, Carter, Richards, and Sharp to name a few from the last few years... I mean those are some big names, and whether or not they are on your team now, they've played a pivotal role in obtaining the team that took you within two games of Lord Stanley's Cup.

Re: Hockey [Discussion Thread]
True. But I still think you've got some pretty great young players the last few years. I have a feeling you'll have a pretty good run next season.
And just for the record...I still miss Sbisa. And Sharp, of course...though that goes without saying....

I knew I recognized the name, but now that I see the incident, I remember...well let's hope he doesn't take out Bobby Lou, although the guy seems to fold like a cheap chair every playoff, so I know we aren't winning the cup anytime soon, but I am sad to see Bernier go, he has great eyes.....
