I don't scare easily, but if you manage to startle me, then it's ugly... I really start to ... well, hyperventilate and need at least ten minutes to regain composure... my hands are still shaking.

Poor you! For me the aftermath doesn't really stay for long but the immediate effect freezes both my body and mind. All that means I wouldn't be able to run for my life if I had to. What a Face

my fiancé once startled me that bad, it took me over an hour to feel almost normal again. had to drink hot tea and wrap myself into a blanket, because the shock made me feel ice-cold.... horrible
