i was forced to do a GSCE is statistics.... urgh.... it wasn't that hard though, which was a relief as i had paid NO attention... it was a 2.5hr paper and we were all done after an hour....sadhbh wrote:queen bess wrote:probability should go die! and i liked trig... a set of things you know that you have to play around with until those few things can tell you everything...sadhbh wrote:Ah trigonometry! I remember that! It was a part of maths I actually really really liked. It was so logical and sensible. none of this chance associated with probability. I hated probablity. So much.
Yes!! In the end I didn't even learn probability for my Leaving Cert. It left me with no options but I was happier to spend lots of time studying the stuff I could do thatn spend any time studying the stuff that made NO SENSE!!!!

Makes it so much harder to learn something when you can't stand it. i've been there! Just make an attempt to grasp the basics, and hopefully the rest won't be so bad.

Re: I Hart Booth Fan Club
I went a little mental in argos (catalogue shop) this evening. We now have a kettle that doesn't drip and scald you when you pour, a coat rack and I have a little electric heater for my room, but best of al,l a daylight, screws onto the side of your desk and adjustable at many angles lamp!!
And two new books (that I really don't have time to read).
I only went out to buy sticky-back hooks to hang jewellery and towels off! (we're not allowed make holes in the walls so I just have to stick things to them). I did buy the hooks. Unfortunately they were the cheapest of what I bought!!

I got the hooks in a big hardware shop, and they had lights that I was looking at, but not the same as what I'd seen in argos. So I went there for the light. And then remembered the kettle and the coat hook. And found the heater on the way towards the till. And then it was definitely time to leave. Dangerous!!
