when someone says art.........i think of actual pictures......not a bunch of lines

that's totally fair, and i can appreciate where you're coming from. as an abstract artist myself, there is more to it than lines. abstract art is about the thought and process of art- the creation of it... the mood you were in when you made the art.

personally, my stuff is visual depictions of music. so i listen to a song, then i try to paint what is sounded like. i can do the realistic stuff, but honestly, the abstract stuff takes me longer and i find it a lot more satisfying. for me its also more difficult because there is a line between crap and something that looks really good. its a hard line to find.

then there is the utter crap that is just an artist pushing the bounds of 'what is art?' and totally finding the 'not art' category

and thats what i am talking about...............i get all the feelings and thoughts and moods........but pushing the bounds............that is what frustrates me.......i mean.....when i look at any art.......i can kind of get a feeling of what is going on........but when its really out of control..........(pushing the bounds).........in my mind..........its like what the fuck??????????????
