'Cause she doesn't like the wizarding aspects of them. She told me it was my decision if I wanted to read the first one for school, cause if your parents didn't want you to read it they had to sign a slip. But my teacher was like well since it is your descision I don't need the slip.

So I read it. The only thing was that I couldn't read it at home. So I had to do it all it study halls.

many schools banned the books from the library.......which i thought was soooooooooooooo sad.......they are soooooooooo good............and if it helps my child read............then all the more better...........

My school doesn't really care lol. They have the Temperance Brennan series which I think is cool

well jay its not okay.............with me anyway..........they are books.......and sparking ones imagination and creativity is a wonderful thing.........and to take that away from children and adults is nonsense.....people have to open their minds.............now i am done.....................

Didn't you see that whole convo with fly? I only have two more to go. lol

The part that really irritates me is that the same parents will let their children watch things on tv that are just awful or get into things on the web with no redeaming value. There is so much out there that is really not good. Personally, I really dislike the whole Harry Potter thing, but I wouldn't prevent other people from enjoying it.

I think it's sad when people lash out against things that actually promote reading and creativity. A book that actually encourages children to use their imagination is a good thing.
