magic: yup..I agree my Dad taught but he never had ANY academic credentials...he was a Mariner for 20 yrs and they hired him as a teacher based on that *nod* he was there for 20 more yrs before he passed away.

it is so true fran...i was working in my field before i had taken any formal qualifications...when i did do it i learnt pretty much nothing..i already knew most of it and the bits i didn't weren't worth remembering as they weren't even relevant really...essays about some child phsycologist from 1954 or something..in russia...coming up with theories that have no relevance today....i learnt everything that was important hands on actually doing the job...

I'm stilll here, sorta..........

magic: EXACTLY!!! *nod* my Dad went to sea when he was 18...in 1980 (he was 42) he got hired on as an instructor for Nautical Science...he was there and went to sea until 2004...he went back to get his Bachelor of Maritime Studies once but stopped due to principle...lol...he was MADE to pay a fee for a place he would NEVER use so he quit uni

sometimes i think the qualifications are more to show if you can handle the workload..determination and such..rather than building on knowledge..some of the things they get you to do are ridiculous and teach you nothing at all...

same here...the only reason I went back to get my Diploma was to get my creds...and it gives me about a $5.00 pay rate increase at some places...lol

yup me too..and i can now go on and do a teaching degree if i want...haven't decided yet...

nice *nod* what I actually got was a Technical Diploma...so while I make half decent at McGill...I go to a College or a School Board and they classify me as a Library Technician...it's all about scholarity in my field...

well in my search for a new job i have stumble upon one that i am not sure about...........its helping people do their daily chores........such as errands....making dinner.....taking them to the movies....stuff like that...it pays waaaaaaaaaaaaaay more than i make right now......not sure about the benefits package...but a whole hell of a lot better than housekeeping...............i clean up after peeps all the time.....so why not get paid better for it............and these peeps will actually appreciate it more........more money............means a2b hopefully gets to move out soon..........but thats jumping way ahead.......have to get the job first and see if i like it..................no more deals on rooms at best western..........although the rooms i got were really bad anyway................

i have been fine pimp.....thanks for asking.........and they are miniature poodles............very cute.......and very hard to sit on..............lol magic................

i dont sit on them for very long........so they are alright..............lol
