Re: S6E03 "The Maggots in the Meathead"
So I have been reading the spoilers for the past 2 weeks and they did NOT make me happy at ALL..what happened to my favorite show. First of all this hannahbitch makes me depressed everytime I even read about it..it already invaded the world of fanfiction so thats ruined as well.
I been on a crossroad..to watch Bones from season opener or not and I have decided I will NOT watch. The whole storyline is crap, a disgrace to us fans and the whole previous season story. I can't even read the spoilers without a pit in my stomach.
So my time here will probably be cut in half of a half of a half, because I do intend to catch up during Xmas if my eyes see a sentence similair to this ''Booth's GF set on fire by Bones fans''. And I do not want to be spoiled on any case storylines so ye.
and I can state for a FACT I will not be watching the 3rd episode EVER, in fact I will not even download it. Hannah can sink to the bottom of the sea for all I care.
So I will be browsing the forum for a few thread titles to see if it's anything I need to know but otherwise you will see me popping up around Xmas...

Beliskner WAY OFF TOPIC...Gotta share that on finale night while I was in the shadows on this forum I saw your banner before I was able to catch the episode, and it clued me that I might be doing this while watching: [Only admins are allowed to see this image]

@ Morweb - I was a "Scarecrow and Mrs. King" kid, too. But hey, no Michaela and Sully from "Dr. Quinn, Medicine Woman." ??? Now, THAT Sully, was HOT. OMG!
All of these shows have a similar built in dynamic, but none of then with a character as compelling as Brennan. Booth and Sully are pretty close - and not just because they are hot. They both worked within a framework of goodness and nobility, while still being outside of their mainstream "box." Well...that WAS true of Booth - until recently.

I haven't checked out anything for them yet. I love that show, cause Nathan Fillion is just grand. But I don't feel like I have as much invested in their relationship yet.
Not the same way as I generally feel with B&B. Probably just because of the time difference, because the chemistry is there for both shows.

Re: S6E03 "The Maggots in the Meathead"
I keep hearing about this "Castle" - what's the premise? During the. school year I pick three shows max to watch. It's been House, Bones, and a freebie, but then last year was Glee. (No, I did not. pick up the insanity that was Lost. Too many people to keep track of. ) I've been watching Criminal Minds reruns, this summer. Really good, but a bit too dark for when my schedule is really tight. I wish Leverage or Burn Notice were fall shows. Anyway, I'm looking for something to replace Bones - at least through through the fiasco of Raghag. Honestly, Emily and David are awesome, but. ! the core character damage is pretty bad. All I can think of is Booth has had a MAJOR brain issue - I suppose there is some brain problem that can change your major personality traits and basic knowledge of the people in your life....I think it's called amnesia.
This would at LEAST give some relavence to that stupid ending in season 4. He never DID remember who she was...oh, wait, that would cancel out most of season fine - lines like, "I know you, bones, I can tell when you're upset." (the chicken EP) ...yeah. Clearly he must have developed amnesia during the 100th.
Anyway, as I was saying, looking for a show to replace Bones this fall...(I shouldn't think about these things walking home...just shouldn't. Life goes on.)

Re: S6E03 "The Maggots in the Meathead"
C'mon guys...I feel just like you about thes storylines...but I'm still going to give it a try and hope with all my heart that there is more to this raghag girl that meets the eye, and that she's there for a major purpose.
I just can't see them actually throwing away the show. They have so much invested in it. I think that if we go into it with the attitude that there's a purpose to this...and knowing that it won't last forever...then we can stand it. Just close your eyes and don't look when the awful scene happens.
I'm really beginning to believe that she is some kind of bad girl, working with the big bad. I asked Hart point blank on twitter...and he usually says something in return...and this time...He said nothing...not even a teasing remark about him not spoiling...which gives me the feeling that maybe I hit the nail on the head.
I'm just going to hope...and meanwhile get over hoping for them in a relationship anytime soon. Just hope and pray that at least we get a really good storyline with a really big bad...and a complex web of continuing storyline. Then it might just be worth it.

If you're looking for a show to replace Bones, Castle is your best bet, although you could end up in the same situation with that show ( season 2 ended with a serious SO for the male lead) .
Premise is that a mystery author/single dad of a teenage daughter teams up with a police officer to solve crimes ( and to research for his books) there's the "team" at the precinct and the leads (Stana Katic and Nathan Fillion) have oodles of sexual tension. It's a pretty well written show, I had avoided it for a long time because people kept comparing it to Bones, but I think the only things in common are the crime solving and sexual tension

I think so far that it can be interpreted that possibly Hannah has some ulterior motives, but I'm not gonna get my hopes up and then find out that she's simply a girl that Booth likes. I'd rather prepare for the worst possible scenarios and then I'll be happy with how it plays out.

Re: S6E03 "The Maggots in the Meathead"
joybrennan "Dr. Quinn, Medicine Woman" was an excellent show with the added bonus that I found the actor who played Sully to be entirely delicious as Jake on One Life to Live. Unfortunately I could never really get into it because I was never at home on Saturday nights, and the few times I saw it while it was originally airing I kept seeing the same episode over & over again [Only admins are allowed to see this image] ...Am I the only one that happens to? [Only admins are allowed to see this image] The experience of hearing good things about a show, but every chance you get to sit down for an episode it ends up being a repeat of an episode you've already seen? [Only admins are allowed to see this image] Back on topic...IA alot of shows have been formulaic over the years, but Brennan is a much more compelling heroine that anyone else has presented! Your mention of web leaves me feeling a bit giddy. [Only admins are allowed to see this image] I'm with you though! [Only admins are allowed to see this image] So long as the payoff is good & the web of the storyline not too snarled then I can put up with a lot of pain moving through the process. [Only admins are allowed to see this image]...and a complex web of continuing storyline.

Re: S6E03 "The Maggots in the Meathead"
I keep hearing about this "Castle" - what's the premise?
Castle is about a mystery writer who has been shadowing a NYPD detecitve to do "research" for his books. Him and Beckett (the cop lady) met because in the first episode the murders she was investigating came from his books. And she knew this because she's secretly a fan of his. He had just been very bold and killed off his beloved, very popular main character in his last book. Now he's using Beckett as the basis of his new series of books...Niki Heat. Which by the way...you can actually buy. LOL! The new "Richard Castle" book, Naked Heat, comes out the end of September I think. (I sure wish Fox would pick up on this and publish Dr. Brennan's novels...because I want to know what's on Page 187 and also decide for myself whether Andy is based on Booth HAHA)
No matter what, Bones is still #1 for me....although I wanted to throw a shoe at the TV when Castle showed up at the precint with his ex-wife just as Beckett was going to tell Castle that she liked him. ARGH.

no matter what you are most likely always going to end up in a scenario where you are unhappy with the storylines/writing/character development at some point. I've been on message boards for several fandoms and I've heard the same themes over and over in terms of people being displeased. I was actually surprised because I would have thought each one would be dramatically different....but...it turns out...not so much.

@ treble21 -This is pretty much what I'm doing - can't you tell? The hard part for me is if she is a "bad" girl, HH basically f**ked around with our beloved Booth's character for a plot point. Sigh. I will survive.

That would be awesome!!!!, but probably will never ever happen, there would probably be huge copyright and marketing issues with that, cause there is already a series of "Bones" books out there.

Maybe because network tv, no matter how well they start off all seem to shift to the same default formula that we complain about but keep watching. Pretty much hits somewhere season five. They can't seem to get that being in love is just as interesting as falling. Except for The Closer. - oh, wait, they aren't network. You are right about the fact that we do seem to play Charlie Brown to network TV's Lucy. "They won't. screw it up this time, this show is too imaginative, too creative, the characters are so interesting and really compelling, this time - " Flat on our backs like Charlie Brown. Guess we just like running for the ball.
Castle's folks are complaining about S.O.'s in season two?
Really? The characters don't really KNOW each other yet - hence, she's JUST meeting his ex-wife. . Wait until they've gone to hell and back a few times - THEN start complaining.

I believe this is the second of his ex wives to make an appearance.... and it was at the very end of season 2 so the actual storyline about their relationship will be season 3 I guess. I don't know that too many people are complaining about it at this point, at least not to the point that the Bones fandom is.

For my money, Castle will never be Booth. He's not tough enough or unselfish enough. I like Beckett though. She says snappy things to Castle but never the cuttingly hurtful things Brennan has said to Booth.

Castle pretty much the same as Bones, except the girl is the cop and the guy is the best selling author. They have same "will they/won't they" dynamic and the same banter dialogue between characters and now it seems like they are copying Bones' SO storyline.

Re: S6E03 "The Maggots in the Meathead"
Oooooh, I LOVE The Closer!!!! (Did you see how he was hovering over her chair and kissing her in the last aired ep?! Oh my... the scene was absolutely perfect. ) James Duff, the creator of The Closer, could do master class for another TV show creators, something like "How to handle properly a happily commited / married couple and not to ruin your ratings." For HH it should be mandatory.joybrennan wrote:Maybe because network tv, no matter how well they start off all seem to shift to the same default formula that we complain about but keep watching. Pretty much hits somewhere season five. They can't seem to get that being in love is just as interesting as falling. Except for The Closer. - oh, wait, they aren't network.

Say What You Want : I'm frustrated and very annoyed by HH's 'brilliant ideas'.
