There was (is?) a bat in the attic. Where my bedroom is.
(we will now pause for all bat in the belfry jokes to be made amngst yourselves--I've made them all already on my end
) I started upstairs and this brown blur swoops over my head!
No, I did not go completely girly, but it was close. I practically jumped back down the stairs when I realized what it was.
And while waiting for animal control to come (and they were not able to do much--attic's got too many hiding places), my grandma's dr called and wants her to come in about some regular test she had earlier in the week. NOT what you want to hear! I'll be tagging along for moral support whether she needs it or not.

Okay, bats are basically rats with wings - you totally have my sympathy there. Of course the last time I had to deal with one in my folks attic I did it in true 80's comedy style. Aye, many. I decided to say screw the doctor's orders and doubled up on the Anti-biotics, then magically the pain went away later this afternoon. Interestingly enough, the Animal Control guy say they aren't as bothered by lights as we think. Hmmm. I remain somewhat skeptical, but believe you me, I wasn't going up in the dark anyway!

Oh, please, let's keep it singular right now! All I need is a flock or school or herd or whatever they're called to have taken up residence outside my bedroom door! I just saw one. But we're apparently on some listing of good places to hang out, for this is not the 1st ever to be inside.
