Veteran's Day, November 11th

Today, November 11th, is Veteran's Day in the United States. It's a national holiday honoring those who have served our country in the military.

I just wanted to say Thank You to those of you here who have served our country in its military ranks.



It's one of the very, very few holidays that is celebrated on the day it is recognized, instead of being moved to a Monday so the masses can enjoy a 3-day weekend. It's a small thing, but somehow, in my mind at least, it conveys a token of the respect and gratitude due our veterans.

also would like to take this time to remember my dad...he served in world war 2...he was in the army.....and was stationed in new guinea....he rocked...and was the best dad ever.......

Was in a train station today at 11 am, where they blew two whistles and everyone just stopped where they were for two minutes. Bags down, head bowed.

I do not believe in war, but I have so much respect for and am so grateful to those who risk their lives and for those that have lost them to keep people safe.
