Actually, if you have a dvr, regardless of your carrier - TIVO, Cable, Satellite - then your watching does matter. Which is why I DVR everything I care about.

Check out tv by the numbers [Only admins are allowed to see this link] they do a good job of explaining how even though you aren't "a neilsen family" your dvr numbers count as "time shift" for the first week. Or "same day" if you watch it before the same day cut off

Just wanted to say thank you for providing the links to this episode! Very annoying they've not been available immediately after the Canada airing - hope it won't be the same every week! Still, I'm getting to see the episodes several weeks before they're aired in the UK, so can't complain! Thanks again!

True, but I don't have a dvr, therefore no matter when I watch it, my view does not count, which is why I feel no guilt in watching it early.

Yes, it is the quickest video stream for me too. Especially zshare.
