There's people on Twitter suggesting the possibility Fox has threatened online upload sites to not post the episode before it officially airs here in the US. I don't know if that's true, but it's a possibility...

Very good possibility. The ratings would be//could be affected (on FOX) if the episode was on line before the official airing. And without the ratings, BONES could be .... nah, they would NEVER cancel Booth and Brennan. Nope. Never. Their great-great-great grand children will be solving murders

That's along the lines of what I was thinking too Boo... then they shouldn't air it in Canada first... (no offense to you wonderful Canadians) I really appreciate the play by play

I'm thinking some legal action is involved. Over on the BY, the mods are shooting down any post that even hints at links. They shot down the Canadian thread before the ep had even aired- though they did make another one.

Fox was pretty quick to pull the lawyer card when that Key art got leaked, so I really wouldn't put it past them. Even though, up to this point, they've sworn up and down that it hasn't affected ratings.

What Key art? I didn't hear this story.

The thing is the people that would watch and download online are the same people who make sure to watch on Thursday to protect the ratings...

There was Key art- promo stuff- the noir poster for one, that was released to members of Project Fox for review. PPl took it from the site and leaked it to the world, which apparently was a big no no and Fox pulled the lawyer card b/c of a confidentiality clause that you agree to when you sign up. Didn't make sense because now you can get most of it on the official site for free.

I'm thinking the links have something to do with the tight race that's been going down Thurs nights. You figure with Bones placing 2nd and 3rd behind Survivor and FlashForward(these two tied last week) now in overall viewership, the gloves are off and they are going after the almighty demo #s. B/c demo more than overall translates into adverting money.

So yeah, the ones who download might also watch, but they might not and Fox isn't gonna take that risk; or is tired of taking it. Two weeks ago, the BY was full of people flaunting the fact that they were watching on Wednesday online from the US. Not saying I wasn't watching too, but I wasn't going to go advertising that to the world The very next week we get shut out and now another shut out. If that's not Fox protecting its ASSets...I don't know what is!

And I just find it hard to believe that they have the power to control links on the Internet... There are just SO many places!

Really? I watch it twice, or three times sometimes. I will watch it when I first get it, watch it during work (or at least listen to it) and then watch it again at night after I get out of class.

It surprises me that others who are searching for it on Wednesday night only watch it once (but then I am easily surprised )

Yes, me too! Not to protect th ratings, but I like watching it over and over again! lol My grandpa and uncle like watching it too, so I get the TV at that time! lol

I only watch it once and I watch it Wednesday, but that has no reflection on the ratings. Rating are done through the Nielson Company and only people with Nielson boxes represent who is watching what on television. Nielson uses the samples from what people watched and applies them to make ratings.

I do not have a Nielson box, ergo it does not matter when I watch the show.
