A Trip to the Bones Set! Empty A Trip to the Bones Set!

Post by Alexa Fri Feb 20, 2009 6:22 pm

FEBRUARY 19TH, 2009. (I don't know if this topic should go here silent )

My Experience At The Bones Set!

My family and I got to visit the Bones set through my cousin, who is the production sound mixer for Bones. We got to the studio and met up with my cousin. She handed us off to a tour guide, Cory. I think he is the stage manager, I’m not too sure, but his job is awesome.

He gave us a tour around the FBI set first. We first got a tour of Booth’s apartment, which was really cool. The fridge in his apartment seemed like it had David’s Son’s drawings on it. The apartment was very Philadelphia-like. We then went through the back door to Booth’s FBI office. I got to sit in Booth’s chair and I even looked on the calendar paper in front of it! I saw little notes here and there. It was very cool.

He then took us to the village (the area where all of the actors, directors, producers, etc are. He then took us to the interrogation room where we stayed before we met David Boreanaz. Cory asked David if he could take pictures and sign stuff. Being the fabulous and nice guy that he is, David was more than happy to take a couple pictures and sign most of my stuff. He signed my Bones T-Shirt and Dvd sets. He is actually a lot skinnier in person than on television. I guess the camera really does add 10 pounds!

We then got to get Emily Deschanel to take some pictures and sign the stuff that David signed. She was really nice, she will sign anything and take a picture whenever she can. Emily is a very, very nice person (and so is David). My mom actually told her than I wanted her and Booth to get together. She was like, “I don’t knooooow, we’ll seeee!”. I completely nervously smiled.

They were actually shooting scenes from the episode “Cinderella in the Cardboard” or something like that. So Cory took us to the Jeffersonian set. The FBI set and Jeffersonian set are at two different studios. At the Jeffersonian we met T.J. Thyne first. He had to go but he said hello and how-de-doo.

We first went to Brennan’s office, where I sat in her chair, and then we went to the Autopsy room. We then went to Zack and Hodgins’ Ookie room (where they did all of those experiments). After the Ookie room we met Tamara Taylor and Michaela Colin. I didn’t get to take pictures of them because they had to get to work but they were so nice. They’re a lot skinnier in person, too!

We then made our way back to the FBI set. Cory dropped us off there with my Cousin and we talked a little. We took some pictures and my family decided they wanted to go eat and what not. I decided to stay back. Cory allowed me to stay with the crew and watch them film a couple scenes. I got to sit in a casting chair near David and Emily’s chair. In between takes, David and Emily would be on their blackberries, typing away, in their chairs. I sat there and read the sides for that day, it was really cool. Emily was really nice. She was talking with one of the guest stars about dogs and then she asked me if I had a dog. I said yes and we started talking.

They had to go back to filming so we stopped talking and they went back to filming. Once they got back, Emily asked what grade I was in. We talked and talked and then came up the SATs. We were talking about the SATs while David was clicking away on his blackberry.

Emily and I kept on talking about the SATs and one of the directors/producers got in with us. David then got into the conversation, too. He talked about his SAT and school days. They were really nice.

They went off to go film a scene and once they got back, I was finish texting a couple of my friends. I was reading the sides again and suddenly David asks me if I wanted to read one of the episode scripts. Being the shy girl that I am, I gladly and nervously say sure. He gave me the script of the episode “Mayhem on the Cross” or something like that. It was really cool, it had his name on it and everything. I read most of the script PLUS THE END because I wanted to see what the B&B moment was like.

David actually wanted to give me the script but one of the directors said that he couldn’t because they won’t let scripts go out unless it’s already been aired. So David felt bad about this and he told the director (with his o-so-cute charm smile), “Wow, you’re killing her hopes and dreams. Shot down like a bald eagle.” He kept on saying how the director killed my hopes and dreams so the director decided to give me one of the other scripts.

They gave me an Emily and David personally signed “The Perfect Pieces in the Purple Pond” script. They also gave me a picture of Emily and David, signed as well. They also gave me numerous photos of the cast at the Royal Diner and they gave me a personal picture of Emily and David! They weren’t signed though. (The pictures were ones that could be seen on the web but the ones they gave me were very personal and FOX issued).

At this point, I hung around a bit. Emily left because she wasn’t needed anymore at the FBI set, I think she went to the Jeffersonian set. Anyways, I had a great time with the cast and crew. Some of the Camera men let me use their equipment for a few seconds before they were going to film. I got to sit near David who is pretty amazing considering how funny and nice he is.

I had wonderful time at the set. I wish I got the chance to thank everyone there for their kindness and hospitality.

Thanks for confirming it - I always wondered why he's so skinny on the pics and quite a bit chubbier in the episodes (at least in some scenes).

I am pretty jealous too. But it's nice to read that they are as nice as one always imagines them to be.
Someday I'll be rich and go there as well. Hope the show lasts as long *knock on wood*

Wow, sounds like you had a really great time. Thanks for the links for the photos, and the description of how your day went. Something I'd never forget for sure. And I love hearing how nice they are, on some shows there are those people who seem really nice onscreen, but really aren't when they're in person. But Bones has an awesome cast, I only hope that one day I'll meet them too.

Alright, Alexa, you have me beat! Now I am jealous too! Welcome to the ABY and thank you SO MUCH for sharing your experience. I got to film a walk-on role and while it was amazing, I didn't get quiet the experience you did. The only person I got to meet was Emily, whom I had already met anyway. Of course, it was fabulous sitting and talking to her. And you got to see all of the sets! I filmed on location, so I missed all of the sets.

Anywho, that is awesome! I bet you're just as thrilled as you can be! Thanks again for sharing! Smile
