How the Writer's Strike Affects Bones

So, there are a whole bunch of articles about the writer's strike in the news section, but people were asking so here are some specifics about how it will affect Bones.

So here's the deal. As of today, the writer's are officially on strike. What this means for Bones. The shows will continue at least until December, since they have already filmed/wrote some of the episodes. We will start getting burned in January.

The last strike was in 1988 and it lasted about 22 weeks. Any questions, comments, thoughts about the strike, please feel free to talk about. Either in here or the News thread!

My only hope is that if the well starts to run dry in January, that they will continue to run reruns of Bones in order to keep interest up!

Yes, we are fortunate in the UK in that we are a month or so behind, so it won't affect us until later I assume.

I have to say that having read all the bumf I am sympathetic to the writers, but very worried about the possible ramifications of all this on my viewing habits. Fingers crossed something gets sorted soon. Though with the bile and vitriol which is flying between the parties concerned, I won't hold my breath.

OMG!!! i never heard about this untill now! Oh gee did yall know that they were planning on well I can't say it never mind. But geez I am so MADDDDDD! I am off to read one of those episodes!

Just as an update: 12 episodes to be shot, the awful schedule for January - but at least for now - Friday are only reruns. My hope is, they'll settle this before the end of the year and that schedule will go back in the trash where it belongs.

ok, so on some Boneyard post (I know...sorry I had to bring it up) I was reading it and they were talking about how 1) The scrïpts have been written through episode 12, thus how we have spoilers through 12, but that 2) There had only been filming done through episode 9, and that beacuse of the strike, they werent going to use the scrïpts to film the last 3 episodes.

hmmm, that's strange. I'm peeking on the boneyard as we speak. From my understanding they were filming the 12th episode and shutting it down. Weird.

Was it Kizmet who mentioned it? Because she's fairly reliable with the strike news.

As for the Boneyard, its totally okay to bring it up. You can mention it whenever you want.

yeah i dont think it was Kizmet, so it could've been an unreliable source, which I figured earlier was the case. However...yet another question...I thought the kiss was going to be most likely in the last episode before January which was most likely the Christmas episode... at least I got that impression. But are they seriously going to show a Christmas episode later in the year? Or will they just add it in with another episode...I understand it probably not factualy explainable yet...I guess right now I'm looking for opinion...
((as for the newbie status:I joined a long time ago i just got so busy I never had time go actually sign in so all I've done is read and not post...I've been on more than the Newbie says...lol))

Ok so right after I posted this question, I went to the Boneyard and there was a post saying that they switched it and that the Xmas episodes is going to air...but that Wannabe in the Weeds will be held until after the strike...this also said that supposing Ausiello's report was going by this schedule change that the kiss might not be in the Xmas episode as some people assumed, but rather in Wannabe...I don't know...It's all ideas as far as I know....

Thanks for the report! Fox keeps changing their mind, so its hard to keep up!

According to their latest press release, on December 4 we get a rerun: man in the Mansion.
Why would they leave anything for January? Trash it for Friday that is?

ugh Fox is so annoying! Oh well...I guess we just get through the writer's strike happy that it's not as bad as it could be (as of what it looks like now) and get used to Fox's bipolar nature...although it's still annoying!!
