With news pouring in about Bones finishing up its production schedule, I felt it pertinent to create a space for Bones fans to help the writer's strike in any way they can. Although it doesn't seem to matter alot right now, come January there will be one or two, or perhaps zero, episodes left.

Fox is moving Bones reruns to Friday and let's hope they move them back when the strike is over.

The best news is to have the strike come to a resolution as soon as possible, the worst is that these 12 eps will make up the season.

Here are the things you, as a fan, can do to help the strike. (Feel free to add more!)

1. If you are in the L.A. or New York area, visit the strikers, bring 'em donuts, etc.

2. Write to the newspapers, etc in your town. Maybe they are looking for a fan perspective on the strike. Try writing to Entertainment Weekly and other magazines like that.

3. Recruit some new viewers. Now is the time to lend out your Season One or Season Two DVD's and get a new viewer hooked! We, the loyal fans, will follow the show where ever it goes, even if it goes to Friday's. But some people won't and Bones will lose viewership.

4. If you are a Fanfic Writer, then WRITE! I saw on another fansite that people were suggesting that in support of the strike, fanfic writers should stop writing. I hugely disagree. I think its up to the fanfic writers to continue writing, even when there's no new Bones material. This will keep fans interested and engaged in the show!

5. Continue to visit fansites like these to get all the news and to share your love of Bones!

That's all I can think of for now, but if you've got more ideas, please post them! And post what you've done as well!

I don't know a whole lot about the official FOX Bones website, but do you think they keep track of hits to the show sites at all? Would it help anything to hit the site several times a day to show interest?
And is there any place online to submit letters? I'm not one to sit down and write longhand... isn't technology great at making us utter lazy slobs??

I live in germany, therefor i canīt help! But i think, itīs maybe helpful, when all fans from Bones write letters with signatures or one big letter with signature and send these to those responsibles persons. The idea from spacekid77 is very good. Maybe the Admins from Bones Sites can together open up a site for this. Then can fans from other countries join in for a letter. Sorry my English is not very good!

Hey Space, Hey Filou.

There are definately ways to submit things online. I'm working on a list and I will get back to you!

We have to assume that the official site belongs to the management - so chances are - they won't encourage such efforts (I admit I haven't been there lately, so, if I'm wrong on this one, I'll be happy to be corrected). Other fan sites such as this, the garden Patch and others should start this as a grass roots effort - I'll happily join in any such initiative.
Still, personally, I believe in boycotting reality shows, downloading episodes during the strike and any other ways of affecting the ratings in a meaningful way.
One more thing: this video is required viewing for anyone wondering what this is about:

well i dont live near LA....in fact i live in argentina so unfortunately i cant go and offer donuts to the writers, which i'd love to.
BUT (there's always a but..) as a huge fan of bones that i am i felt the responsibility of informing the other bones fans here in argentina what it's going on out there. So in my forum i made a thread about it and i'm always uploading news and stuff. of course everything in spanish.
And i'm planning to send a e-mail to the news networks here to inform them as well cause till now they havent made any comment about this issue and i think it's pretty important not to tell anything.
hope this helps. though i don't know how.
