Fanfic poll

I'm trying to get an idea of what types of stories most of you guys read.

Can't really make a selection above, not even to pick a favorite. I have an attraction to an M rating on a story, but the truth is that if it's a good story it doesn't matter what rating it is.

I think for me, it really kind of depends. If it's all angst, I'd prefer it be a oneshot or at the least a mini-fic rather than the whole story. I love fluff too, but I think if I really had to choose, I'd pick something that has a bit of both. Life isn't perfect and neither is what we see on TV, so I think it's only fair that fanfic represents that. That and well, I love angst as long as there's some of of resolving of it eventually.

I don't know, like I like the angst cause y ou never know what'll happen next, it adds drama, and then a happy resolved ending of course is best. But i get a lot of people telling me that they only want to read fluff stories. But Don't you think if the story is only fluff it will get boring?

I pretty much like them all, as long as they are well written and well developed stories. You write, we shall read!

I like any well written story, but like DBC I find myself drawn more to M and T rated stories for some realism (smut is a factor in most). I prefer angst and fluff mixed, like life, and I tend to write angst & fluff or angst & smuff. The key things for me are characterization, plot, and dialogue. If Booth and Brennan are written too one dimensionally or OoC (and its not an OoC peice) you've lost me. If the plot sucks, you've lost me. If the dialogue is painfully bad you'll probably lose me. That said, now I feel the need to read a little and maybe even start on working on that writer's block peice for DB *inside joke*.

I couldn't vote. I'll read almost anything. I might prefer a happy ending, but there are a few stories that simply don't go that way and slapping one on is a jarring note and I prefer some consistency. I like smut (yes, Rob, yours is up there with a few others that I enjoy, and I'm looking forward to you posting that piece), even PWP. (Intelligent) fluff is good. I have a lot of smut and fluff in my favorites, but there's humor and drama and angst, too, and I certainly have alerts in every category.

It really is about the quality of the writing, not the rating nor the category.

I consider intelligent fluff to be fluff with a good plot, good dialogue, basically fluff that fits the characters and makes you go 'Aww' instead of 'Huh?'. The [Only admins are allowed to see this link] fic is a perfect example of IF, even if it was a cruel joke on us shippers at the end *glares at ScienceGeek2587*. In that story we've got a lovely setup leading to good clean fun fluff that just makes a shipper's heart sing, until the bitter end of course.
