new idea that just came to me... more later tonite, hope you like!!! =)
Chinese carry out boxes littered the coffee table in front of Dr. Temperance Brennan’s couch where she was stationed with her partner Special Agent Seeley Booth. Both partners were slumped sleepily against the couch, content and very full. After finally finishing a case full of drug dealers and an innocent bystander, they had decided that finishing the mountain of paperwork Friday night instead of stalling until Monday was the best plan. Now, the paperwork was in a neat stack on Bones’ desk, and both were very glad that it was.
Booth looked at his watch; 2:31 am. Bones was falling in and out of sleep next to him, her head teetering over his shoulder.
“Bones,” Booth said softly. Her eyes fluttered open drowsily.
“Hmmm?” She asked without moving her mouth.
“We should probably go home,” Booth said quietly.
“What…what time is it?” She asked, giving in to her exhaustion, letting her head fall against his shoulder.
“Just after 2:30,” Booth answered as he dropped his arm over her shoulders.
“In the morning?” She asked in a tired way that struck Booth as cute. He didn’t dare say it, though, smart enough to know his head would get chopped off if he did.
“Yes,” he decided on a simple answer.
“Huh…” Bones said, starting to become more coherent. She pushed herself up and Booth’s arm fell down from its resting spot on her shoulders. She started to stand up and fell back down onto the couch.
“Stood up too fast,” she said, laughing and rubbing her head. Booth laughed along with her and stood up, offering her his hand. She took it and slowly stood up. Together, they cleaned up the mess that was sprawled across her coffee table. Once everything was cleaned off, Bones turned off her computer and walked to Booth who was standing at her door with her coat. He helped her slip into it and she thanked him as she turned off the lights and they headed out to their cars. Bones had walked close enough to her partner that he’d rested his arm once again across her shoulders, and she very gladly let him. Booth liked her when she was sleepy.
“You okay to drive home?” He asked her.
“Yeah,” Bones answered, much more awake.
“See you Monday,” Booth kissed her forehead softly, surprising himself slightly, but glad that she didn’t seem to care. She simply hugged him quickly and casually and headed off to her car. Booth watched her for a second before heading to his oversized SUV.
......
Bones arrived at her home not five minutes later, still slightly dazed by sleepiness, but alive with how comfortable she felt with her partner. She got out of her car and walked up the steps to her door. She opened the door to darkness and turned on the light just as something caught her eye in the corner of her kitchen. Before she could react, a black figure had run over to her and hit her over the head with some metal item…her vision growing hazy and dark, she stumbled to the ground and felt herself go unconscious.
……
Booth drove home with a buzzing happiness. His attraction to his amazingly tantalizing and challenging partner grew every day, and he was glad to see that she at least felt comfortable around him, much more comfortable then she’d used to be. The weekends were funny for him, because he wanted to do something with her but was always awkwardly nervous to ask during the week…however many weekends they somehow managed to see each other anyway, so he never ended up worrying about it. But tonight he felt more adventurous. He’d drop by her house tomorrow…surprise her…see what she wanted to do…
……
Bones blinked groggily, and instantly felt the blood trickling down her forehead. Whoever’d hit her had nailed the left side of her head, luckily, it seemed pretty superficial, but it was pounding with pain, and she could almost feel it bruising. Her vision finally focused, and she could see that the black dressed person was still in her home, standing over her.
“Why Dr. Brennan, I’m so glad you’ve awoken,” the person said…she thought they were male, and it sounded like a masked British accent but she wasn’t sure…it could be Australian.
“Who? Why?” She mumbled short words.
“I work with Justin Long, ring a bell?” Bones made the connection…Booth and she had just convicted Justin Long for drug dealing and killing Haley Baker, the innocent bystander who’d watched a deal.
“All making sense, huh?” The person asked in a menacing, cruel tone. Bones grimaced in pain, and touched a hand to her forehead. She tried to sit up, finally coming to her senses and realizing she COULD fight the person.
“Ah ah ah!” The person stated, kicking her on the head with a heavy black boot. She yelped in pain, but flipped over so that she was standing. The person lunged at her and she blocked a punch but watched with fear as she realized the person had a syringe concealed in their left hand. She blocked punches as best she could but after throwing one herself became vulnerable on her left side. The black garbed person took advantage and thrust the needle into her arm, pressing the clear liquid into her veins. Bones winced more with the thought that the drug inside her could be fatal than the pain of the needle wrenching into her skin. The person laughed manically and Bones’ vision started to teeter back and forth. Her head started to pound with intense pain and her knees gave out from under her. **Booth, I need you!** Her mind screamed as she fell onto the hard floor, reaching for the door in front of her but knowing it helped none. She fought to stay awake and watched hopelessly as the person escaped out her garage door. Then the drug took over and everything went black.

more more more!! thanks for the reviews!! Keep them coming, I live for them!! =)
Booth arrived at his partner’s home at ten forty-two, excitedly awaiting the day ahead of him. He stepped out of his car into the freezing weather and ran up to her front door, juggling his keys until he found the one she’d made for him, and fitting the key in the slot. He swung the door open and heard a thud as he hit something. He squeezed in through the door and almost fell backwards when he realized the thing was his Bones.
She was lying on the ground, her hand close to her head where a significant wound was covered with dry blood. Her eyes were closed and her legs were bent slightly as she lay on her side. Booth bent down next to her, scared to death that she wasn’t alive. She always said not to jump to conclusions, though, so he tried not to. He turned her over slowly and reached up to her neck to check her pulse. He almost fainted with relief upon finding one. Realizing he needed to do something, he reached into his pocket and called 911. He reported what had happened and where he was. Once off the phone, he carefully picked up his partner and cradled her in his lap as he waited for the ambulance.
“Bones, come on, Bones, please?” He pleaded for her consciousness. Her head rested limply on his shoulder, and her arms were slack at her sides. Booth prayed silently and waited…
……
“She suffered a blow to the head that caused a severe concussion…it probably knocked her out for a few minutes. As for the drug that put her under…we are running a tox screen, the results should be back soon,” a dark haired doctor informed Booth as he paced in the waiting room.
“She’ll…be okay?” He prompted.
“Depends on the drug, the amount of the drug…you know, how dangerous it is to the system,” the doctor replied.
“She’s okay now, though,” Booth asked and said at the same time.
“Yes, stable neural activity, cardiac activity is good, as well as her breathing. We’re monitoring everything we can think of right now. All you have to do now is wait,” the doctor said quietly. Booth kicked the wall absent mindedly.
“I’m sorry Mr. Booth, this is the best I have to tell you.”
“Can I see her?”
“Yes, you can stay in her room as long as you like…since her family is absent due to jail and death, you are the next in line of importance, so you have all the rights a family member would,” the doctor stated. It felt good to hear that.
“Thanks.”
“I’ll take you to her room,” the doctor exited the waiting room and led Booth to a cubicle at the end of the hallway.
Booth sauntered into the room and tried not to wince. His partner’s forehead was black and blue surrounding a three to four inch stitched gash and the rest of her face was ghastly pale. The monitors beeped rhythmically, but they annoyed Booth. Booth sat down in a chair in front of the crisp white bed she laid in and sighed…it was going to be a long next few days.
……
Booth typed away quickly and softly on his laptop, finishing his report on how he’d found Bones. He looked up over the screen at her, and was sad to find her still in a coma-like state. It was late at night…or early in the morning as she would normally correct him when they stayed up filling out paperwork. He checked the clock…2:29. It had only been twenty-four hours before when he’d been dragging her out to her car and kissing her forehead in the exact spot that now adorned an ugly, painful gash. Booth grimaced in anger. He felt guilty, almost as if there was some way he could have kept her safe. He was supposed to, anyway.
“Come on, Bones,” he thought as he returned to the report, finishing it and saving it. He was closing the laptop when she shifted to her side. The slight movement, although she’d been doing it all day, caught Booth’s attention and he watched her hopefully. He scooted his chair even further up, so he was inches away from the bed. She rolled over completely and so her head was facing him. Her eyes slowly fluttered open and she frowned. Booth froze, in a state of extreme happiness and somewhat shock.
“Booth?” She said after a few seconds, then her face relaxed as though she’d remembered something. “Did you come? When? I was so scared, I couldn’t call you…I needed you Booth.” Overcome by her sudden outpour, Booth smiled without words and reached up to push a stray strand of hair away from her face. She caught his hand.
“Did you catch him?” Booth looked at the floor, then caught her gaze again.
“No, Bones, I came in the morning to see you and found you on the ground,” he answered.
“Why?” She asked, her grip on his hand tightening.
“I wanted to see if you wanted to do something over the weekend…I didn’t expect spending the weekend in the hospital with you,” he flashed a charming smile over his joke.
“What day is it?” She asked with a deeper frown.
“Saturday, I’m assuming you got attacked right after you got home,” Booth answered.
“Yes, he was in there when I got home…” She dwindled off, “Do I need to explain it all?”
“Not now,” Booth answered sweetly. She smiled for the first time since she’d been awake. She closed her eyes and held his hand against her face. Booth shifted so he was slightly closer to her and her eyes shot open.
“You’re not leaving are you?” Fear riddled her face. Booth felt a surge of extreme care.
“No, Bones, I’m not leaving until you do.”
“Good,” she said happily.

yay! more! And thank you SOOOO Much for all your replies!! I live for reviews people!!
Booth sat in the rough canvas chair, slumped over and asleep on part of his partners’ hospital bed. She too was asleep when Angela walked in. Angela smiled very happily seeing the two so close and comfortable. Booth’s head was very close to the curve of Bones’ waist and Bones’ arm was misplaced across the back of Booth’s torso as he leaned against the bed, very much asleep. Angela laughed and rummaged for her camera in her oversized purse. Upon finding it, she snapped a quick picture and grinned evilly…blackmail.
“I’m sorry, they both seem to be…asleep,” the kind nurse behind Angela stated. Angela nodded sweetly.
“Do you want to come back another time?” The nurse continued. Angela nodded with a grin and left the two to their business.
……
Bones woke up slowly. Her mind awoke and she started to roll over when she hit something and was forced to open her eyes. She looked down and found her torso covering her partner’s head.
“Booth?” She mumbled, still half asleep. Booth rolled slightly under her, and she twisted back so she wasn’t crushing him. His hair spiked in every odd angle imaginable, he looked up at her with puffy, sleepy eyes.
“Bones?” They both looked at each other for an awkward moment and then started laughing.
“I don’t remember anything, really,” Bones said. Booth nodded agreement.
“We both must’ve been tired enough to just drop dead.” Bones frowned. “It’s a figure of speech, Bones…fall asleep very quickly,” Booth explained to her oblivion. She released her frown.
“Not the best choice of words after what just happened to me, Booth,” she said with a smile. Booth couldn’t resist smiling back at her and he collapsed on the bed again.
“I don’t want to wake up,” he groaned.
“Neither do I,” Bones agreed.
“Wait did you just agree with me?” Booth looked up momentarily. She hit his shoulder and laughed.
The nurse walked in to find her straightening his slept on hair as best she could with her hands.
“Need a brush?” The young nurse asked with a glint in her eye. Ever since the fine looking FBI agent had set up camp in the beautiful woman’s room, the two had been the gossip of the third floor. Everyone did their fair share of spying on the contradictory pair, all of them amazed at how close the two seemed. Furthermore, they were all shocked when Angela came in and clarified that they were not dating and never had been. Through a myriad of stories told very quickly by Angela, the nurses on the third floor had learned of two hard-working independent partner’s helplessly in love and hopelessly unable to admit it. In some odd way it was hard to avoid and addictive.
The nurse watched as the so called partners both stopped and turned to where she was. The FBI agent leaned back from the bed, but kept his folded arms on the very edge. The forensic anthro-something looked like she’d been caught with her hand in the cookie jar. The nurse smiled sweetly.
“I was just kidding. Agent Booth, can I speak with you outside?” She watched as the agent’s eyes connected with the woman’s and exchanged something. Then the agent stood up and followed her outside.
“We figured out what the drug was,” Booth didn’t pay attention as the lady said an extremely long, confusing string of words.
“You can treat it, though?” He asked eagerly.
“Yes, I just need you to sign here for her and we can flush it out of her system and get her back to normal within two to three days.” Booth smiled and signed the paper hastily then returned to Bones. She had sat up and was rubbing her eyes sleepily.
“What was that about? I’m not going to die am I?” She asked bluntly. Booth, caught off guard by her stark, scary question, paused for a moment then realized the pause might be scaring her.
“Of course not, why would you say something like that Bones?” Booth watched her shoulders dip down as she visibly relaxed.
“You should be out in two to three days,” Booth continued as he sat back down in his chair. The nurse bustled in and hooked up a new IV, then scurried out.
“Good,” Bones relaxed more, “Wait, do I have to stay in bed all three days?” Booth laughed. This is one of the reasons why he loved her. Stubborn, crazy, and in perpetual motion. She seriously never stopped.
“I might be able to get you out for a little while. A LITTLE while,” he emphasized. She sighed and looked more content than Booth thought he’d ever seen her.
“Thanks, Booth. This is great.” Booth leaned in towards her.
“It’s what I’m here for.”

yay!
