I was overdue for a visit - especially since I spare MOST people on FB. It's only fair to come back here where I've long ago burned that bridge!

The last time it snowed, about 18 inches, I made it in to work both days, though no one else in administration, besides the Administrator who slept over, did. Now I come to find out that they are paying everyone that didn't make it in for those days, and they don't have to use their vacation days for it. How is that fair to the people that actually made it in? It gives you no incentive to make it in to do your job the next time, does it? I should have just stayed home in my jammies and relaxed.

don't remind me of snow......we had some again yesterday......

but we are supposed to get warmer temperatures now

Wow. That is the most abusive system I've heard about in quite some time. They should offer you compensation.

Wow. That is the most abusive system I've heard about in quite some time. They should offer you compensation.

No kidding. I mean, I work in healthcare...everyone should be encouraged to come in. And then the accounting office told me they were told not to come in because they aren't essential personnel...I'm not either, why didn't they tell me that? And they knew that I was going to try to make it in, because I told them I would. It just really pisses me off.

Anyway, I think they should at least give us an extra vacation day...but I'm not holding my breath.

Ha, I work for a non profit organization...that's never going to happen. Hell, they give us $50 for Christmas and we get the luxury tax penalty on it.

I admit to being spoiled by years of owning a car and coming and going as I pleased - but, it is so hard to get motivated to spend hours on a bus for a destination only a short distance away to schlep bags home from the stop.

I have food here, I just don't feel like making anything. Add that to the fact that the last 2 times I ate something, I got heartburn...well, I'm almost afraid to eat...
