but yes... i liked it. But more, i have just really liked this season.

just recovered after the Brennan undressing Booth scene... that was hotter than the AU sex scene in the season 4 finale!

Last I heard, the 1st or 2nd Thurs in Jan. There's some confusion...

I meant to post my thoughts last night, but half of one of teh other fandoms I support was kind of in upheaval so I was perhaps improperly focused.

Anyway, considering the giant promo that was the gist of last week's ep, this one was pretty good. As far as Christmas episodes go it was alright, but considering the fact that is Christmas episodes past we've gotten high!Booth and the BB kiss, well...I guess I had higher expectations than I should have.

Zooey was great, IMO, but I wish they could have fleshed out her part more. I get why she was constantly quoting Benjamin Franklin and all, and it definitely does seem like the quirky type of part that Zooey would play, but yeah. I hope if her schedule permits we can get to see her again.

Also, it was good to see Max again. That being said, while I don't necessarily follow his career or anything, I haven't heard of any new projects from Loren Dean lately. I mean, come on, we haven't seen Russ since season three. I get that he's off and he's busy (and maybe I'm missing something, but this was the first I heard of referring to Amy's parents as "in laws", so I'm assuming he and Amy got married at some point we weren't privileged enough to see.)--I guess my point here is that I wish we could have seen him, too. Even if now I have the urge to go to Orlando (seeing as I live in FL ) to try and find him.

Okay, Booth. The undressing scene was pretty hot. His poor Cocky belt buckles just keep getting blown up or covered in evidence, don't they? Anyway, the one thing that kind of bugged me about him isn't really all that important. He and Brennan were talking about family and friends or whatever, and I forget what the actual quote was, but he said something about family being one way and then friends were another, which is when he looked at Brennan. Maybe I took that the wrong way, but we all know he's kind of suggested he thinks of her as family before. It was Hodgins I believe that used the "There's more than one kind of family" quote tonight. I don't know.

The look at the end WAS really cute though. That smirk was full of so much squeefulness.

I'll toss this in here but it's really just a casual observation - since the talk with Gordon Wyatt and Hank's visit, Booth has been more open in his affection toward Brennan. Not just more open but casually flirtatious in his interraction.

For example, looking back at THE SCENE: can anyone imagine the Booth of season's past allowing Brennan to undress him? He'd have insisted on gloves so he could do it himself or, at the very least, he'd have nervously commented and wise-cracked all the way through it. Yet here he is, not only allowing her to take her own sweet time to "collect" the evidence but not even hiding the effect her proximity has on him. I mean, he's in love with her and getting undressed by her? Seeing her kneeling before him like that? You know that's serious fantasy material for Booth.

Speaking of fantasy material who else thought that Brennan was going a lot slower than she had to in undressing him? Sure she'd probably declare that it was all in the interest of preserving evidence but the manner in which she undressed him, and the slow, almost sensual way the clothes came off? She was definitely taking her own sweet time and you could see her cataloging every facet of his body as she did so. She was building up her own library of fantasy material.

These two are so oblivious that I swear, Angela's idea of locking them in a closet is looking better and better.

I saw someone somewhere ask what Bones said to Booth during evidence collection, "You have a perfect ..." Now I can't find the question, but I watched the subtitles to catch it for myself. She said "acromion". I kept hearing chromium!

Um, that's not where my attention was focused during that scene...

I agree. I had to watch it a second time to realize Daisy was there, too!

Margaret: I found the Brennan/Margaret storyline satisfying. At first I wasn't sure about Margaret's weird Ben Franklin quirk, but when I realized how that made her similar in some ways to Brennan (who uses logic to relate to people instead) I was intrigued. I hope Zooey comes back and we see these two interact again.

Max: he kind of got on my nerves last night - too clingy, whiny or something. Since he (the actor) lost Farrah Fawcett recently, I'm going to let it slide.

Michelle/Cam: Michelle is silly, Cam is lovely and enduring. Lucky teenaged girl!

B/B: Awesomeness - more sweetness than I expected. They didn't make the undressing scene silly with a lot of awkward antics (which I wholeheartedly appreciated). Instead, it had a level of tenderness and anticipation that made me wish she wheeled Booth into her office, locked the door and forgot the evidence! The ending was nice, too, even though I'm at the point when they need to stop looking at each other and start touching each other!

All in all, a delightful episode, and one that I will be re-watching over my Christmas holiday many times (and perhaps pausing and admiring once or twice!).

Well, I did watch that clip a sinful amount of times, so I was bound to notice something else eventually.

Somebody mentioned something recently about similarities this season with The End in the Beginning and that somebody is tracking this kind of stuff. Anybody remember about that, who it was, where it was?

I'm wondering because I watched tEitB over the weekend and I heard the narrative line about "... doesn't begin with a thunderclap but a knock". I'd forgotten that and then I realized it's in somebody's sig but as "Anok". Yes, I am a bit slo[Only admins are allowed to see this link] Anyway they mentioned "math" last week and this week too, and there was something about math in tEitB. Now I'm a bit intrigued by all this. Now I want to go look and try and track some of this stuff and see if I can spot anything.

Anybody follow what I'm jabbering about and where I can find it?

Did anyone catch it last night when Hodgins asked Booth where his hair was and Brennan pipes in with "His pubic extension is quite ..." and Booth cuts her off! That line makes me giggle. I never heard such a thing until I was reading the spoilers!

I would like to add the etymology of the word "acromion". It's a combination of the greek words "akros" (highest) & "omos" (shoulder). In "Bones", when it comes to terminology, the majority of the words are either of greek or latin origin.

Rewatching the episode again.

It totally catches me when Angela tells Bren how she feels bad for making all the jokes about Santa ruining Christmas, and then asks her is she thinks sometimes they forget that the bones are people.

To me, that line was brilliant. Angela was so concerned with the bones being people in season one, and she seems more and more removed with time. It was nice to have that little glimpse back into her.

And then the Bones/Booth conversation about heart crushing. I had a few tears. On ads at the moment but I am sure the speech over the radio and the funeral will catch me again.

I really really loved this episode. REally.

*edited to say, that Cam was, as always, beyond brilliant. She stole every scene with Michelle in it. So much emotion in her features. Love Tamara Taylor.
