Does anyone know?
If there's any public outtakes from the "Wannabe in the weeds" episode when Emily is singing, I really want to see David singing to her.

I'd imagine there are plenty more outtakes out there that were not included with the dvd but they are probably in some storage room at the studio. ;(

My hope was to have those posted somewhere. They do me no good in a studio storage room.

Re: Does anyone know?
I'd love some outtakes of Em singing - she's really got a beautiful voice. David, on the other hand, I like the man but he couldn't carry a tune in a bucket. Seriously the dude is TONE DEAF. OMG, I loved it when he got up on Angel to sing, he'd butcher Barry Manilow songs...okay, I've changed my mind. I'd love some outtakes of David singing too. Too damned funny!

Re: Does anyone know?
I think he intentionally butchered the song. He did well when he sang Swing low sweet chariot. Considering it's low register. She is a good singer, she sings from the throat though, I can see why she said she had nodules, she doesn't sing properly. She needs to bring it down into her chest and open up more. I take voice lessons and thats one of the things with me too, I had to get over that to continue on without hurting myself.

Re: Does anyone know?
I was in choir and I sang in a band, and you're right - singing from your throat is hard on it and the old vocal chords. I sing from my diaphragm (and yes, it took years to learn <-- a big no-prize to the person who can spot that comedic reference), they also taught us how to change the architecture of your throat to alter how deep or high you could go and how to project your voice without straining it, I can range from second tenor to the edge of first base when I'm in practice, though right now I'd probably only be able to manage say first and second baritone. David, he did okay with the gospel song, but tonally those are the easiest to sing, it's just drop your range and get the rhythm, and he still sounded rough to me. Em needs vocal coaching and I bet she'd be a singer up there with her sister.

Re: Does anyone know?
she used to take voice lessons, I don't know how serious she did them. She definitely could take a lesson or two from her sister. Also it wouldn't hurt to pick up an instrument, I recommend the guitar, minus the finger ripping part it's really easy to learn in comparison to the piano. But knowing piano for voice is also good.
I don't remember how vast my range is? Maybe 2 octaves? I don't remember. I sing mostly Alto and second soprano. But I sing for fun, I do singing at pageants and festivals and stuff, so I'm mostly playing guitar and singing something. Recently I sang "The Climb" and "Crazier" At a festival, a few other songs too. Also I do sing at church.
I'd be willing to give Emi a few lessons.

Re: Does anyone know?
I'd rather she not learn guitar because of the hurt it would put on her delicate little fingers, plus I play some (acoustic and bass), and if she learns she doesn't need me for accompaniment (just company).RGPageantqueen wrote:she used to take voice lessons, I don't know how serious she did them. Two octaves is nothing to sneeze at, that's pretty good in fact. Alto an second soprano, if I sing second tenor/first baritone we'd hang together perfectly in melody. Now we just need a some backup singers...I don't remember how vast my range is? Maybe 2 octaves? I don't remember. I sing mostly Alto and second soprano. Heh, yeah I'd like to show Em a thing or three myself...are we still talking about music now? 'Cause I'm good either way.I'd be willing to give Emi a few lessons.

Re: Does anyone know?
Aside from my choir teacher hounding it at us, no I didn't get the diaphragm reference. Sorry.
So are you saying I don't have delicate fingers cause I play the guitar? It's not so bad. I mean I know a lot of girls who rock the guitar who don't have scaly hands. Either way she has to cut her nails off. I like to have nails, especially for scratching itches, and my left hand is completely nail free. But my right hand has long nails. So i'm uneven.
I wasn't saying my range was bad. Definitely not an 8 octave range like Celine Dion. But not many people do.
I didn't know you were into music. thats awesome!

Re: Does anyone know?
That's okay. It's an old, old Steve Martin routine about how dirty the singing coach is because he wanted a girl to sing from her diaphragm (and in Steve's case he was referencing her contraceptive device, not the muscles) and the punchline was "That would take years to learn, wouldn't it?"RGPageantqueen wrote:Aside from my choir teacher hounding it at us, no I didn't get the diaphragm reference. Okay, as a man who can recognize a trap when he sees one I'm going to simply say no. In fact I'm know that you are a beautiful, fragile flower of young womanhood who's fingers are nothing if not dainty and delicate like the rest of her. Now I'm going to run far away and hide.So are you saying I don't have delicate fingers cause I play the guitar? It's not so bad. True dat, then again not many folks feel the need to beat themselves on the chest while they sing either - what the hell Celine? I mean really, what the freakin' hell?I wasn't saying my range was bad. Definitely not an 8 octave range like Celine Dion. But not many people do.
Yeah, I am pretty into it but that's really more my brother's thing. He's still in a band and he can play anything or write lyrics about anything. This past weekend we were joking around and somehow got on the topic of midgets and donkeys (don't ask) and he came up with a song combining the two that would do the Bob & Tom show proud. Hilarious.I didn't know you were into music. thats awesome!

And I didn't stop reading your story, I've been out for like a week+ and I'm still going through personal email and trying to get caught up. I'll get there sweetie, I swear I will.

Re: Does anyone know?
Since when did Celine Dion start beating on her chest? Maybe it was a tarzan sort of thing. Was she wearing a lion cloth too?
I love music, it's my second biggest passion outside of my work and gymnastics (which is my work) lol. I don't really write songs though, I don't think I'm that good of a writer. So I steer clear of that.

Re: Does anyone know?
Nope, I've seen clips of her in concert singing away just beating her fist against her chest as she sings, like she's beating the high note out of herself. It's wierd.RGPageantqueen wrote:Since when did Celine Dion start beating on her chest? Maybe it was a tarzan sort of thing. Was she wearing a lion cloth too?
My brother is the musical one, I dabble. I can sing well enough, but playing is purely something to pass the time and I can't write lyrics to save my life. I've tried, believe me I've tried, it's just not my thing.I love music, it's my second biggest passion outside of my work and gymnastics (which is my work) lol. My big passions are reading/writing, film and Emily (my gf fits in there too of course).

I'm being mean, my bad. I'm sure he's really nice and treats her well, but looks gotta have a place in there somewhere...
