Hmmm noone seemed to like this episode. But I really enjoyed it. Especially the Cam/Bones bits. Cam is quickly becoming my favourite character.

I agree... I think that's a reason why I didn't like it.flyersfan35 wrote:I could've handled it better if they had given a reason for Bones' regression, but they didn't. Re: The Salt in the Wounds – SHOW DISCUSSION
I actually liked this episode.
I don't approve of the whole a bunch of teens having babies and making a pact and all...but the other things were good.
What Brennan said....to be honest, I was glad to actually SEE Brennan talking to Angela, even if it was regressive for her character or it was bad advice. We've had like zero Bren/Ange interaction basically within the past few episodes, so to see them out to lunch, talking about Hodgins and the Roxie break-up. Doing friend things. I love that.
The end scene was perfect, and I love that Booth is...okay, I just love him. And the end shot from Bren's POV was perfect.
I...don't know. The sudden openly stated competition between Bren and Cam just seemed odd. Of course it's always been there, but it was just kind of weird. I like Cam more now, I do. I just don't get why they have to go all "Cam's the boss and Brennan isn't" all of the time.

Re: The Salt in the Wounds – SHOW DISCUSSION
I actually liked the epi. There were sceens of Brennan observing faith practices, (Booth) 'parenting', and looking at reasons why people would decide to have children which are all going to factor into decisions made by Brennan in later epi's IMO. Also her discussion w/Angela gives her food for thought as well. While not outstanding on its own, as an epi that lays the groundwork for Brennan growth I enjoyed it.
p.s. Goodbye practically non-existant girlfriend Roxie *waves* now comeon Hodgins!

Re: The Salt in the Wounds – SHOW DISCUSSION
I really enjoyed this episode.
I honestly do not see how Brennan's behavior could be construed as regressive...like, at all. She and Cam have always been competitive, so I think it was good to see that friction between them. And her facial expression when Cam uses her "freebie decline" was priceless. She can also be quite--as others have put it--"bitchy" at times. I wouldn't call it that, I would call it "colorful," but still, I don't see how her acting this way is a regression.
THE best scene was the Angela/Brennan lunch. As people have already said, we haven't seen them have some serious girl time in a while. It was perfect.
On the note of religion, Brennan wasn't being intolerant by any means. She just wanted to get work done and she felt that the intern's praying might interfere with things getting done in a timely fashion. That's completely in character for her, IMO. Plus, towards the end, there is the shot of the intern (agh, I can't remember his name) praying and Brennan observing. She *is* tolerant and it looks like she is trying to understand him in that scene.
Agnerka, I agree with you. This episode is really laying the groundwork for Brennan's character. I think this is yet another "building block" episode and it really shows us how Brennan thinks. The final shot of her watching Booth with Clinton was absolutely perfect. I could think of quite a few things that could have been going through her mind at that moment. I also loved how she "got it" when Booth had to go talk to Clinton: "It's a guy thing." Shows that her intuition (at least with Booth) is working quite well.

Re: The Salt in the Wounds – SHOW DISCUSSION
I missed the show on account of taking my parents out for their anniversary, so I had to wait for it to end to watch it afterwards.
I LOVED this episode! There have been several this season that almost made me want to cry I was so disappointed. Last week was fun, but this week was wonderful!
I liked the science
I liked the humor
(I admit that Ange & Roxie's breakup was pffft but they never had any screen time anyway so how could it be anything else!)
I liked everything surrounding the Muslim (pc & pi)
I liked Booth's confrontation with Clinton about getting the girls,
I liked Brennan asking Cam for one of her freebees (I hadn't noticed her try that before!)
I liked Angela and Hodgins roll in the Egyptian(?) room
I liked Sweets advice to Angela (and that they got to go undercover!)
... I'm sure I'm drawing a blank on so much more,
but I didn't forget ...
I LOVED LOVED LOVED the ending ... Booth and Bones, Booth and Clinton, and Bones watching from outside
The only thing bad about tonight is feeling the momentum starting to build ... and knowing that we're knocked off next week! D-mn!

Re: The Salt in the Wounds – SHOW DISCUSSION
Absolutely. Brennan is not being intolerant, and just as she said in the episode, she thinks all religions are equally ridiculous. Christian, Muslim, Buddhist, Catholic... she'll insult you all the same lol. And it should never be taken personally because THAT IS BRENNAN. She doesn't mean to, she just doesn't know the meaning of delicacy. She tells overweight people to lose weight, she tells Booth that Jesus is a zombie, she tells Angela that she approves of her love life, she tells Mr. Visiri that he shouldn't waste time in the lab. She never means to be cruel. She is just staying honest to her character.
And I loved the episode. Loved the Brennan/Angela interaction. LOVED that Angela realized it's a bad thing when Brennan approves of her love life. LOVED the speech Booth gave the boy. Loved Brennan observing everyone and the viewer is left to wonder what she's thinking... is she feeling lonely? Is she taking in everything? Is she putting life into context. It was a great episode IMO.

Re: The Salt in the Wounds – SHOW DISCUSSION
I loved that they tied this episode to two past episodes, like you reminded me DBCrazy...
1. The Egyptian Room
2. Brennan wanting a freebie, Cam turning down her freebie.
