Founding Fathers Bar—At night

Booth and Brennan are done with their meals and are prepared to leave.

Booth: Just give me ten

Brennan says softly: But you had most of the potato—

Booth: Okay just give me half the, okay?... Alright.

Brennan sits there with a sad expression on her face. She looks down at their empty plates. Booth gets up and looks at her, wondering if she’s ready.

Booth: Bones you ready?

Brennan: You haven’t said anything about my interrogation.

Booth, gently talking to her: Okay… you know what… you did great. Okay, better than I thought.

Brennan, feeling sad: I was terrible… everybody’s right, I—I lack empathy.

Booth, trying to comfort/reassure her: You’ve got empathy… you’re awkward… it’s different.

Brennan: My stuff is bones, yours is people.

Booth, with a slight smile: Right, so you’re admitting that I’m better at something than you are?

Brennan: N—No— (She smiles)…Yes. A lot better.

Booth: Thanks Bones. (Charm smile)—(Happy like a little kid going to the candy store) So, Hey. Can we go now?

Brennan: Yes (nods).

Booth, excited: Yes! Wait till you see what’s outside.

The two leave the bar and shove themselves out the door at the same time, making both of them arrive outside at once.

Booth, excited and feeling manly: (He points to the very nice car) So, whatdaya think? Hey, huh? Buddy let me borrow it.

Brennan more excited : Can I drive it?

Booth, putting on his jacket: Whoa Whoa, wait a second, this is a very powerful machine.

Brennan, trying to convince him: Well, I can handle it.

Booth takes his keys out of his pocket and holds them up in front of her face: Okay, look, once around the block… (Brennan tries to grab them but fails) uh, maybe. (She grabs the keys) Okay—okay, driving a machine like this is like making love, you’ve gotta go gently!

Brennan smiling: I got more for passionate and uninhibited rather than gentle. (She jumps into the car and starts it)

Booth, worried and frightened: Bones… gentle. Gentle Bones, Gentle! (Brennan rubs the engine) Bones easy on the gas… (Booth jumps into the car; She starts to ease her way away from the curb and into traffic) easy…Whoa Whoa, stop! Brake!

(The car stops abruptly)

Brennan, shocked and confused: The car broke!

Booth, fed up: Okay Let me drive.

Brennan: No!

Booth gets out of the car: Okay, fine, you know what, just do it without me. Okay?

Brennan gets out of the car too: Wait, no, it’s no fun by myself! Booth! At least help me get into first gear.

Booth talks to her with the car in between them: First gear? You’re a scientist, you can figure it out, right?!

Brennan: I’m a scientist not a mechanic!

Booth: A mechanic? What’d I say, drive it gently! But no you don’t listen to me! I’m done, forget it. (He walks towards the Taxi cab)

Brennan, yelling after him: No, c’mon Booth, come back! I’m an excellent driver! B-B-Buddy will be very upset that you’re leaving it here without me!

Booth, standing behind the taxi cab’s door: Well Buddy will be completely understanding because the way that you drove that car! You know I said gently! Everybody back out! Back out, back out! I’m out of here!

Brennan, yelling after him: It doesn’t work… how could it be okay, god…[FADES TO BLACK] C’mon Booth!!

a) Hydrogen gas DOES NOT burn with a blue flame.

b) The foaming bones grossed me out.

c) I want Nigel to stay as a squint.

d) Was I the only one who laughed inappropriately at:

Brennan: What? It's no fun by myself.

OMG! So I was not the only one sitting there ready to punch out my computer screen or get a rubber and rub the flames out! They even mention the Ultra Violet hue but um, it's invisible to the human eye folks, not blue, you need a flame detector to detect if hydrogen is burning. Also, if it was hydrogen gas, as they claimed, even burning blue, the flames rise with the rapidly ascending gas.

I guess it could have been contaminated and thus the contaminate caused the blue hue...but do we want to give them an excuse?

Maybe they knew they were wrong, but made it blue so that the audience could see it...?

Oh no, you weren't! I assume I also wasn't the only one who was trying to work out if their whole hydrogen gas thing would work. It looked far closer to burning ethanol in my mind, or acetylene than it did bloody hydrogen. Plus hydrogen really would just explode! Can you tell I played a lot with hydrogen in the school labs? (I inhaled it once never again)

hm i loved sweets in this trying to help her LOL (he tried so hard & she disappointed him).
and my favorite part had to be hodgins and nigel-murray with the king of the lab soooooooooo funny (about most royalty being mental incapable due to years of inbreeding).

and wow some big hinting of BB (the car was supposed to be used when hes on the prowl, and he went an asked to borrow it so he could use it with Brennan...hmm?)

Yes, Ethanol! It looked exactly like ethanol. Even the shape and size of the flames. Hidrogen would go boom. I guess we do have to allow them some sort of dramatic license. And Cam's line about the blame the dead body excuse made the scene.

this episode was awesome loved the BB ending.

I didn't really like the episode. Mr. Nigel Murray really annoyed me this time - far more than he ever had before. Other than that, I'm not really sure why I didn't like it. I'd probably have to watch again, but I have no real desire to. This is very odd... I normally watch the ones I didn't care for again.

Probably too much fanfic and spoiler speculation in the break... I'll be better when it's back to one a week!

eta: In the interests of not being completely negative... I liked the bits with Angela - especially when she told Brennan that Booth is not as 'stupid' as he pretends to be around her. That was great.

Hi all-
I have to agree with the previous post...I was very disappointed in this episode. It had one or two good moments, but overall I found it pretty unimpressive. I have my fingers crossed for better things next week.

I liked that Mr. Nigel-Murray was becoming more understandable--that it wasn't just random facts being spouted for no apparent reason, that there was a method to his madness and Cam was beginning to understand despite her frustration with the case. Poor Cam. She needs a vacation.

I like the episode, it doesn't have any big moments (exept ending, I love the ending), but It was good. I especially like Cam and her lines- "I hate this case." And the King of the lab moment- Hodgins rulez.

I've got a little request- what's name of the song at the end of he episode? I couldn't catch the words, cause they're talking to loud. And English is not my native language

jagglebells, I too like Wendell best for a permanent position. While they're rotating though, I don't mind having Nigel or Fisher back. Cam's interactions with both are priceless.

But as far as who's going to be chosen for the permanent position: Clark or Wendell. They're both likable... lack overwhelmingly annoying characteristics... good likable guys who are both pretty cute, might I add...
