Re: The Hero in the Hold-RATINGS
first ratings are in:
With CBS in reruns, Grey’s Anatomy and Private Practice played ABC to a sweeping win on Thursday night. Fox’s Thursday spring line up showed its strength as well, taking second in viewers and both demos as Bones swept the 8pm hour.
At 8pm, Bones is settling in nicely, winning the hour. It was up two ticks in the 18-49 demo since it’s last new episode. Ugly Betty was almost dead even with it’s last new episode, while My Name is Earl and Kath & Kim were both down. Get your Kath & Kim while you can, it’s not coming back. Smallville was mixed in the age demos vs. last week.
Viewers Live+SD (Millons) 10.759
18-49 Rating/ Share 3.2/9
18-34 Rating/ Share 2.3/7

Re: The Hero in the Hold-RATINGS
NICE! It's great to see that the new timeslot is working for Bones--of course, I had no doubts.

Ratings: 'Grey's Anatomy' comes back to life
Feb 6, 2009, 02:40 PM | by Lesley Savage
Grey's Anatomy stole Thursday night with a sweeping almost-proposal from Dr. McDreamy, and a cameo from Kissing Jessica Stein's Jennifer Westfeldt. Even more impressive was the coattail-riding Private Practice, which latched onto Grey's
with a cross-show cliffhanger and almost doubled its viewers from last
week's new episode. In other cameo news, Jon Hamm began his
three-episode arc on 30 Rock -- but he couldn't help boost the acclaimed comedy's ratings. Hell's Kitchen's numbers slipped by about 3 million viewers, but Bones stayed
strong in its new time slot.

Re: The Hero in the Hold-RATINGS
Not bad!!!
(As for Grey's ratings--that show is such a drama, I can't watch it. My brain melts from its stupidity. I hate CSI, but I'd probably have watched that if I was watching TV at 9 PM.)

Re: The Hero in the Hold-RATINGS
YESS.
Maybe if this keeps up, Fox might...*gasp*...let it stay there for more than half a season?
And um...I watched Grey's. Mostly because I thought the whole two hours were going to be Crossover, and I heart Kate Walsh. So I was a bit dissapointed.

Re: The Hero in the Hold-RATINGS
Thanks to Obsessed with Bones for the scoop:
Fox has already weighed in on the ratings jump for "The Hero in the Hold."
Last night BONES opened with a 3.2/9 among Adults 18-49 and grew +7% compared to its time period premiere two weeks ago among Adults 18-49 (3.2/9 vs. 3.0/ and +8% in Total Viewers (10.8 vs. 10.0 Mil.) Even with the move to Thursday night, BONES outperformed its prior season average on Wednesdays at 8p by +3% among Adults 18-49 (3.2/9 vs. 3.1/9) and +10% in Total Viewers (10.8 vs. 9.8 Mil.) . BONES’ Thursday season average so far is FOX’s highest rated Thursday in-season scripted series in four years among Adults 18-49 (since The OC in 04/05) and in 13 years in Total Viewers (since New York Undercover in the 95/96 season.) Last night’s BONES is FOX’s highest rated scripted Thursday 8-9p telecast in nearly three years among Adults 18-49 (since 5/18/06, That ‘70s Show) and in over 12 years among Total Viewers (since 11/21/96, Martin/Living Single). Last night’s BONES outperformed FOX’s prior season average in the Thursday 8p hour by +23% among Adults 18-49 (3.2/9 vs. 2.6/7) and +50% in Total Viewers (10.8 vs. 7.2 Mil.). Finally, BONES won the 8p hour among virtually all key demos. In fact, BONES outperformed its nearest competitor for the hour, ABC’s Ugly Betty by +39% among Adults 18-49 (3.2/9 vs. 2.3/7) and +48% in Total Viewers (10.8 vs. 7.3 Mil.)
(Hopefully this means that they'll keep Bones on Thursdays from now on!)

Re: The Hero in the Hold-RATINGS
I like the sound of those ratings! But looking at Mama's sig I see that Fox must not be too interested in ratings - PREEMPTED in 3 of the next 4 weeks!

I know. They totally suck. 2 American Idols & 1 Awards Show. I wanna gag.
Re: The Hero in the Hold-RATINGS
I couldn't believe it when I saw your sig. So the silver lining on this evil, dark cloud has to be the 6 weeks straight we get after that ... and then maybe even more! Isn't it gonna be a long season this year??ForensicMama wrote:DBCrazy wrote:I like the sound of those ratings! Thought this snippet was slightly amusing:
After Bones premiered on Thursday it took ABC just a few
days to announce that Ugly Betty will be leaving Thursdays
in March.
