The real observant among you (ie. not poly) will see that boys are in no hurry to grow up and be responsible for the world and its mess. Girls, meanwhile, are in a race to prove how quickly they can grow up and have all the fun sucked out of life and then complain whjile they try to clean up the futile mess the "boys" know isn't ever going away.ToZiKa wrote:men are just kids in an older covering...jonezn4Bones wrote:No. It's pretty much universal.magicstar wrote:marty loves his gadgets..he has to buy them as soon as they come out!!!..i think it is a man thing..or is that just a bad steriotype..he is like a kid with a new toy!!!

I was thinking as I was writing "Wow, you're going to sound insane and cultish." But it's just what I believe.

There is a fundamental driving principle for the male mind. It is the goal to be kept in the decision making process at all times. It has been called "efficiency" or "bang for the buck" but basically the goal of every man is to get as much as he can for as little exerted effort as he can. Whether it's a car or a nuclear power plant or a woman - he is looking to have the maximum benefit with the minimum investment. New tools and gizmos and toys always hold the promise of getting closer and closer to that ultimate desire. Total satisfaction with zero effort.ToZiKa wrote:I don't understand why men need all this things....jonezn4Bones wrote:I have lost that "life is fun" thing temporarily and being flat-ass broke doesn't help. But now it makes me observe my friends and see how fixated they are on every stupid thing that comes out. They have to have it immediately if not sooner. I suppose I'll snap right back into that when things improve. Then I'll be keeping a running shopping list of toys.
If you think about all the useful things you could get with the money...

i know its your faith..but i do find these rituals strange and fasinating all at the same time...and i am an atheist fluff...i have my own faith..in family and friends and love..i dont personally believe i need any other rituals other than hugs and kisses from my kids..knowing i am doing a good job as a parent and they are well looked after..i dont personally believe i need a god to tell me im a good person..i have my family for that...just my opinion of course...religions are a fasinating topic to me..and i love hearing about different faiths and such x x
and sweets i disagree slightly on men making the mess..lol..in my relationship..i am chaos...he is the one ith his head screwed on tightly..and sorts me out!!!!

Re: Archive #25
I knew that would come out of somewhere. And yes the effort does make a positive impact. But guys already have a part of them that believes they are supposed to be able to conquer everything, fix everything, be everything and that is a fatal flawed thought that leads to ultimately surrendering in despair to be insufficient to the task, It's the poi9nt of diminishing returns. After a certain level of effort no more effort produce any more positive result. We have Entropy to contend with and it will never lose.ToZiKa wrote:but at least we are trying...jonezn4Bones wrote:The real observant among you (ie. not poly) will see that boys are in no hurry to grow up and be responsible for the world and its mess. They care too much and because they can not roll the boulder up the hill they eventually resign to avoiding wasted endeavors and effort. Experience takes one form enthusiastically taking on the challenges to one day finding that the challenges have gone on ahead without you. They remain virile while you weaken and die. Rosy picture, huh?ToZiKa wrote:yeah but mostly because they don't care what happens around themPolygirl wrote:jonezn4Bones wrote:The real observant among you (ie. not poly) will see that boys are in no hurry to grow up and be responsible for the world and its mess. Well of course. The calmest men I have ever met are the fathers of multiple daughters. Between the wife and his girls he has seen and encountered every imaginable rel and contrived drama. You have to be able to compartmentalize and sort what is essential and needs to be dealt with NOW ans what can wait - sometimes, for ever.magicstar wrote:i know its your faith..but i do find these rituals strange and fasinating all at the same time...and i am an atheist fluff...i have my own faith..in family and friends and love..i dont personally believe i need any other rituals other than hugs and kisses from my kids..knowing i am doing a good job as a parent and they are well looked after..i dont personally believe i need a god to tell me im a good person..i have my family for that...just my opinion of course...religions are a fasinating topic to me..and i love hearing about different faiths and such x x
