so let us help you with that I wanted to ask you something, since this is a Bones board, how did you find the show? Is it aired in Hungary?
Only the first season and we were a season behind but those days I didn't know that. I think I first saw the 2nd episode. I liked it but I wasn't hooked instantly. The reason is very trivial and rather foolish. I usually was fast asleep towards the end so I never got to know who the killer was! Then I found YouTube and there was a link somebody added. And here I am. What about you?
My first episode was actually the pilot on Czech TV a year and a half ago and I was instantly hooked. They aired season 1 and two and prepare season 3 for the fall. One of our TV channels started to air bones S1 and S2 as well, but it was almost a year after the Czechs did. There was hardly any press about the show and I wanted to know more so I watched some clips on YouTube -there were links to fan sites... I registered at the official fox forum but didn´t like the atmosphere there, so I´m here

marymageli wrote:To tell the truth if the other seasons were to air, I am not sure I would watch it. You see here everything is dubbed. Not that it is bad since here in Hungary dubbing is done by professional, that is real actors, so the quality is good. But I have very much accustomed to the original voices that it just wouldn't be the same. Anyway, I am an English geek, always looking for opportunities to use English. And this place is a perfect opportunity to use what I have learnt so far, and also to pick up new words and phrases.
I hate the dubbing, especially the Slovak one. And so many good jokes are lost because of bad translation. That´s why I´m trying to find the original episodes on the net

Not a student, not anymore I finished my MBA two years ago and since then I´m working for an economic think-tank, a non-profit organization working on projects funded by UN, EU and other institutions.
I know that you´re a teacher, you keep telling that you have your students - do you teach only on one-to-one basis or also in classrooms?

Good choice, kat. I have never been a member there but of course from time to time I check for new things. I have no idea why some people are so mean to others.
Yeah, YouTube was the means of knowing more about the show. And I forgot. Long before I found the ABY I had found SearchingB. It's not bad but rarely up-to-date. I still check it though, sometimes Lynn, the administrator there surprises me with new things. You see one thing led to one another and here I am.

Both actually. At home it's always a one-to-one thing, but I also teach business English at the uni at the Faculty of Economics. I find it very challenging and I just love it to the fullest! It's highly satisfying when students say thank you for all the efforts you made in class. Extra materials, insights and all. Pure joy. Also, I get updated all the time since I constantly look for new materials, new words and all.
Since you are a non-native English speaker you surely understand the importance of practice, the need to learn more.
I also find satisfaction in writing, but only in academic writing. That was one of my strengths back at uni. But I am not interested in writing in general. I don't have the knack, the drive, the intention. But most importantly I am just too damn lazy to comprise my thoughts and do something about it.

Well, it looks like you´re doing what you like. That´s always the best. And you´re right, practice is very important, that´s why I´m here - watching the original episodes and talking to native speakers is always a good way to practice. I also try to read books and listen to audiobooks, because I want to improve
As for writing, I do not have the patience for it, but I enjoy reading fanfiction

Hello children. I slept very long and a hard sleep that I don't usually get. I am back at page 18 catching up on what I missed. Talk to whoever's around, soon . . .

See you later, karlia and have a good time. Though be careful, too much drink may cause you sleepiness and again you'll miss a baila. lol

Children??? That's very looooow, bonezy. I mean do I sound like a child? OK, sometimes I have temper tantrums, yell and laugh at the same time, but your interpretation of me is just plain wrong. You hurt me deeply. But there is no need to fall on your sword, I will live. Only with a wounded heart!!! :albino:

Hi kat! Here I am. I did not miss what you were saying last night. I'm not going to qualify anything, yet. I will allow that I focused on the negative and didn't address the support of people like you and mary and others.

Re: Archive #16
There is a server in Asia somewhere that has all of the episodes for most American TV, here's the link for Bones
[Only admins are allowed to see this link]
I found it easier to enjoy it there than from youtube.
My financial circumstances have made me forgo cable TV so I always watched the episodes a day after the telecast online (using my stolen internet connection) I've been reduced to a thief.
