Fast National ratings for Monday, June 2, 2008
FOX and CBS waged a close ratings race Monday night, with each network claiming a piece of the title with their rerun lineups.
CBS led the night in households with a 5.3 rating/9 share, ahead of FOX's 5.2/9. However, FOX had a few more total viewers (8.05 million to CBS' 7.91 million). ABC, 4.2/7, came in third, a little ahead of NBC (3.6/6), whose numbers may change some because it had live sports coverage all night. The CW brought up the rear at 0.9/1.
The adults 18-49 demographic was similarly tight, with CBS and NBC tying for the lead at 2.5. FOX was right behind at 2.4, and ABC came in at 2.1. The CW fell below the 1.0 line.
A "Bones" repeat, 4.5/8, put FOX on top at 8 p.m. "The Bachelorette," 4.3/7, gave ABC second in households, although CBS had more viewers with "The Big Bang Theory" and "How I Met Your Mother," which averaged 4.0/7. Game 5 of the NHL Stanley Cup Finals on NBC came in fourth. "Gossip Girl" posted a 1.0/2 for The CW.
FOX stayed in front at 9 p.m. with "House," 6.0/9. CBS was right behind with "Two and a Half Men," 6.5/10, and "Rules of Engagement," 5.3/8. "The Bachelorette" improved to 5.0/8 in its second hour. The Pittsburgh Penguins-Detroit Red Wings matchup on NBC earned a 3.5/5. A "One Tree Hill" rerun closed the night for The CW.
At 10 p.m. "CSI: Miami" (6.0/10) gave CBS the top spot. The Stanley Cup game rose to 4.1/7 for NBC, its best numbers in a couple years. The return of "The Mole" to ABC brought in a 3.4/6.
# Ratings information is taken from fast national data, which includes live and same-day DVR viewing. All numbers are preliminary and subject to change, especially in the case of live telecasts.
