Bones Finale Song?

Hey sorry this more of a question. What is the story of the song at the end of the finale? It's sopposed to symbolize there S6 relationship? Was there another song before that one?

The original song that was in the finale was supposed to tie in with S6 however i think they ended up changing the song.

Wicked Game just didn't fit. I have a lot of music ideas which, when cut to film just don't work. And Kandi fit like a glove.

So, originally it should be 'Wicked Game' by Chris Isaak, right? But now it's 'Kandi' by One Eskimo. What if it STILL ties in the S6 (is more compatible with new ideas and the 3rd parties??)? Because if " Kandi fit like a glove", the next season will be...brrrrr! *shuddering*

IF it still ties in then the bits of 'Kandi' we hear (clearly - when they aren't speaking or those that are louder) it's not that bad.

I don't think it's good at all because
"...I heard from Jo about this guy and I want to know what did he do?..",
"I know he called you babe"
meaning there is 'someone else that's calling you baby all night long'

If you watch it again though, you'll notice that that line of the lyrics is not included. Only bits and pieces of the song are used and that's not one of them.

Here's the way i'm looking at it after having seen the end of it at least about 30 times.

This bit:
"You've been my queen, for longer than you know
My love for you has been
Every step i take, every day i live, everything i see."
... is their POV - how they feel about each other.

"And if i get things wrong
Don't want you to think I'm running away"
That bit is again their POV - they both know they aren't really running from each other, just wanting to gain some perspective.

The last bit...
"What did he say? He called me baby, baby..
....
He called you baby, baby all night long
What did he do?
He called me baby, baby all night long
What did he say?
He called me baby, baby, all night long
....
I know he called you babe."
To me, this feels more... maybe hinting that something went on that we don't know about. I'm not taking it literally i guess you could say.


I could be wrong, but i'd rather look at it with an optimistic manner.. i may be being delusional, but i'm okay with that.

I think HH meant that the song fit musically more, not in signifigance, Just the feeling I got because he was talking about it fitting the mood of the scene better than Wicked Game would have.

This part of the song is in the PAST, so it may be talking about a PAST relationship, either Booth's or Brennan's. I'd guess it's like if (Booth) was asking "What did he do to get you"? And maybe in that case it'd be talking about Sully?
Or something like that? Or am I crazy? Too optimistic perhaps?

That's what it really comes down to. Are the lyrics even that important. We all know that HH & Co do things with purpose most of the time but maybe this isn't one of those times. I'm not particularly worried about it or paying much attention to it.
