"A romantic comedy with corpses - creator Hart Hanson prefers "crime-edy" - "Bones" may indeed be based - however loosely - on the work of novelist and forensic anthropologist Kathy Reichs. But it was also born out of the creative tension between those who wanted a show that would appeal to the forensics-minded fans of CBS' "CSI" and those who from the beginning cared more about the characters than the clues."
