Re: Movie Reviews!
I went to see Everybody's Fine and it was...fine, haha. It wasn't anything spectacular, more bittersweet than anything and Robert DeNiro did a great job. I'd give it a B-

Re: Movie Reviews!
This isn't a movie review, but I figured that that would be as good a place as any to post it. The Turner Classic Movies channel (TCM) is running a video now, remembering the actors and film industry professionals who died in 2009. Anybody who watches movies, old ones or not, will recognize somebody in this video, some you might not have even realized died this year.

Re: Movie Reviews!
Today I went to see Where The Wild Things Are. I do not think I have ever seen a film that has emotionally effected me so much. It is a fabulous and heart wrenching portrait of childhood sadness, loneliness, anger, joy, comfort and love. Truly wonderful.
I cannot recommend this film more.

The whole clan went to Avatar Saturday night. Everybody loved it.
Visually I don't know that I've ever seen anything to rival the plant life on Pandora - it was absolutely beautiful!

Thanks for this link. We lost alot of great actors and actresses this past year...not to mention the behind the scenes folks. And now, of course, Brittany Murphy is added to the list also.

The whole fam saw Avatar today and it was STUNNING. Visually breathtaking and the story was incredible. I really wanna go see it again. It truly is amazing. And Joel David Moore had a MUCH bigger role than I had anticipated. I think I like Fisher a lot more now that I have seen Joel in something else.

My 13 year old didn't want to go see this one but got dragged to it by one of his buddies. He loved it! He didn't want to. He didn't want to be lame. But he loved it!!

Re: Movie Reviews!
"It's Complicated" is really funny and Meryl Streep is fantastic as usual. But the one that nearly stole the show?...John Krasinski. Spot. On. Perfect. It's a great escape movie if you're in the mood for lightheartedness and if you just love Meryl.

Re: Movie Reviews!
On the other hand, "Nine" was a bit of a disappointment. Sure, it was entertaining (Fergie's song and dance was the best), but there wasn't really any cohesive story to it. You didn't really care all that much about the characters (except for Marion Cotillard, she was fabulous). Kate Hudson was shockingly really good (and she can sing!), but she didn't have much of a role. If you like musicals, I'd say go see it, but just keep in mind that the whole point of it is really just to throw some scantily clad women up on the screen while Daniel Day Lewis mopes about.

Re: Movie Reviews!
Just saw Avatar , which I was going to boycott, cause I was kinda apathetic about seeing it BEFORE the whole Gamer in the Grease thing, however I cowed to peer pressure, and ummm I was glad I did cause it was all kinds of Awesome! The scenery, story and acting were all superb. ( well there was one really over the top character, but hey can't win them all) Definitely a must see. and Joel had a waybigger part than I thought he would, I figured he'd be in like one or two scenes.

Short and sweet: skip "Up In The Air," go see "The Lovely Bones," wait for "The Young Victoria" on DVD. All my most humble opinions

Re: Movie Reviews!
Cup, I read The Lovely Bones first as well and I must say, I was still very impressed by the movie. It really held true to the book. A lot of people aren't liking the movie (well, critics, I mean) and some who have read the book aren't too thrilled. Personally, I don't understand 'cuz I thought it was amazing, but to each their own, right? Saoirse Ronan, who plays Susie, is AMAZING. She just won Best Young Actor at the Critics Choice Awards and she definitely deserved it. That girl is going to be one of THE premiere actors of the next era.
Let me know what you think when you see it!
