hehe... I saw it three. 1 for my B-day @midnight, at my friends b-day, and then I forced my parents to take me to the Imax... fun times, fun times...

Re: Harry Potter Fans
See I look at it this way. I started reading the books after the first movie. I loved all the books, her style is fantastic. My favorite book was the third one. I was so excited for the third movie, but then I saw it and absolutely hated it. They ruined that third movie (in my opinion). The third book was supposed to be something that wasn't as dark, almost like a transition story that bridged the gap as Harry got older and she set up for the return of Voldemort. But they made the movie this dark, worthless film. They didn't show them winning the Quidditch Cup... I don't know, I just absolutely hated it. Since then, I've taken the movies as something different, almost like they didn't come from a book. To me they are pure entertainment and I do not think that they can even be compared to each other properly. That way, I allow myself to enjoy the movies. At least I should... I hope.

That's exactly why my daughter loves the movies...she's never read the books, so she has no preconceived notions. And actually, the second time I watched it, I enjoyed it more since I was focusing just on the movie itself, and not comparing it to the book. It's still not my favorite, though...I think I enjoyed the first two more. But I'd say it's third.

Re: Harry Potter Fans
Well, I myself have always disliked the Quidditch scenes (mainly movie) so I wasn't that upset that they left out the Quidditch Cup.
I was more upset that they left out S.P.E.W. in the 5th movie. In fact they wanted to leave out Kreacher (prior to DH book release), but J.K. wouldn't let them.

I liked SPEW, but I think it would have just wasted time in the movie. It would have been fun to see it, though.
I enjoy the Quidditch scenes...probably because I wish I could fly! lol

Actually, just an FYI, but the museum exhibit is in Toronto at the moment. I saw it when it was in Boston, and it was great. I can't remember if they sold those particular shirts there or not, but they did have a lot of things.

Ugh, SPEW. I hated that part of the book. I wish I could smack Hermione in those parts haha.

Oi! You've gotta read the last two books! The seventh book is fantastic! If not for nothing other than the closure. Then again, I'm sure you've heard what happens in the series by now anyway. But they are totally worth the read

I have a friend that's watching the movies this way and after she's seen the last movie she says she'll consider reading the books, the reason why is because she saw the first movie before she'd ever heard about the books and she doesn't want to change her perception of the movies by reading the books. I went the opposite way and read every book I could get my hands on after the first move LOL

Re: Harry Potter Fans
I saw the first 2 movies on VHS (yeah, that long ago) then I saw the 3rd in theatres before I decided to read the books. My Aunt kept trying to get me to read the books, but I kept telling her, "No, I only want to see the movies!" But then I decided to read the books. The best decision I ever made.

Sadly, pictures are not allowed. There was one thing in the Museum lobby that we could take pictures of, but we weren't allowed to take cameras in the actual exhibit. It's a shame, because it really was awesome.willgirl wrote:bones206 wrote:Hey try to get some pics if your allowed!
