What Scene has Made You Cry?
Throughout the whole series Bones has had its moments where it has just made you cry.
I defentatly cried during the end scene in Mayhem in the Cross.
The end of The Wannabe in the Woods
And The season 3 finale The Pain in the Heart
There were also more.
What's yours?

Re: What Scene has Made You Cry?
I've never actually cried watching Bones...but I came pretty close at the end of Mayhem. Man, that last scene was so...heavy. It was amazing. In a sad way.
I rarely cry watching tv shows or movies...I can probably count on one hand the movies or episodes that have made me cry...but that scene in the Fox and the Hound where the old lady leaves Todd in the woods--that gets me bawling every time. XD I dunno what it is.

Re: What Scene has Made You Cry?
Yeah, at the end scene of Mayhem, where Brennan puts the hanky back in Booth's jacket, I had tears in my eyes. I think there was one scene with Cam in the Doctor in the Den - where the salt and pepper shakers are finally reunited xD
And then... er, the last bit of Wannabe in the Weeds and Verdict in the Story. I can't remember but I probably cried at the end of Aliens, too.
I can make myself stop crying - in movies and stuff, I always sort of 'distance' myself - but then it kind of takes away from the impact the episode has on me, so I usually sit it out.

Re: What Scene has Made You Cry?
I have only ever cried once while watching Bones.
I have to say that I have been brought to tears many times.
I only scene that caused me to cry like a baby was that ending scene between Cam and Michelle in "The Doctor in the Den."

Never cried watching this show but I have to say, the scene when Brennan puts her forehead to Zack's in PitH got me pretty damn close.

i've never cried during bones. but i came close in Pain in the Heart, when Booth and Brennan come into the hospital room and interrupt Cam reading to Zack. And when Cam said "Are you sure?" I don't know I got close I was like (breathe caught in throat).

I got pretty close with GG talking to Sweets about his abusive childhood. Great acting from both of them.

Re: What Scene has Made You Cry?
I'm not much of a crier, so to say that I came CLOSE (i.e. tingling sinuses or whatnot) it means A LOT.
The ending of Cinderella brought me close and the ending of Mayhem on the Cross--WOW--even closer. These episodes get better and better.

Re: What Scene has Made You Cry?
I tend to distance myself from shows, too...mostly because as a film student I can't help but constantly watch the editing, camera movements, shot composition, etc. Story isn't necessarily sidelined, I just don't get lost in it like I used to. Kinda ruins the experience...well, it doesn't ruin it necessarily. It just totally changes it. Still fun, though. I have to pretty much watch things twice to get the full impact, and by then I already know how the story goes. =p

My eyes were definitely glistening after Mayhem, and the only other time was the end of Verdict.

Re: What Scene has Made You Cry?
I haven't cried that many times. Misty eyes, several times. In PITH, with the whole Zack situation near the end, and Brennan has her forehead to his? I was bawling my eyes out. That, and Doctor In The Den, the final scene with Michelle and Cam.
On the issue of crying though, I will say that Emily is pretty much awesome at crying on cue. The ending scene of Mayhem when Brennan's perfectly calm one minute but bursting into tears seconds later? So sad yes, but perfect and very poignant.

I don't ever think I cried during Bones.I did have tears in my eyes at the end of Mayhem and maybe at the end of Doctor in the Den.

Her acting skills continue to surprise me, even after watching her for almost 4 seasons. She has a gift.

Re: What Scene has Made You Cry?
I was watching Season Two's commentary by Hart Hanson on the DVD set. He said that they only did ONE TAKE for Emily's crying scene in Stargazer in a Puddle, where Brennan cries while seeing the video of her mother. She's extremely talented.Shakari wrote:MoonlightGardenias wrote:

Re: What Scene has Made You Cry?
Oh Doctor in the Den! I didn't cry, but I was certainly close! Tamara was AMAZING.
Re: What Scene has Made You Cry?
I am an out and out crier. All those episodes mentioned, I cried! Especially remember brying during PitH when Brennan is detailing the flawed logic to Zach. heartbreaking. Lots of others. Can't really remember them all off the top of my head.
It's pretty usual for me to bawl my eyes out over tv or cinema though.
Anyone see gran Torino recently? Came out of that absolutley redeyed!!

Re: What Scene has Made You Cry?
Sometimes I cry, sometimes I don't.
I've started back through the episodes from Season 1. In The Boy in the Bush, when Booth walks in on Bones working with the little boy's skeleton, I watched Booth's reaction. At this point we still don't know that he's a father, but watching it and knowing that he is, adds a whole 'nother dimension to it. I didn't cry, but I did kind of choke up.

Re: What Scene has Made You Cry?
The things that always get me closest are the scenes with strong emotional scenes from the women... since I'm a woman, I think I can empathize more with their emotion. So, when Brennan/Emily cry or when Tamara/Cam cry, it pulls strongest on my heart strings.
Although, at the end of The Bone that Blew where Brennan and Booth are looking at their father & son interacting, it was like they realized that they are family or that they were so close to making that permanent... or maybe it was permanent. It was bitter sweet in a way. So it pulled on my heart strings quite a bit.

What's yours?
Lets see: The first season christmas episode at the end when Brennan reads the card from her parents on the christmas that her parents vanished.
The last scene in the pain in the heart, a given, obivously.
The end scene of the mayhem episode where BRennan tells Sweets and Booth about being locked in the car trunk because she broke the dish.

Nah, thats easy all you have to do is imagine it as your real mother. Actually It would have been perfect to have had Mary Jo play her mother, it REALLY would have tugged at the heart strings.
Making yourself cry on cue is actually very easy. And there's tricks to get the actor to cry. For instance t he series premiere of summerland, they had Jesse mccartney call his aunt when his parents died. They actually told Jesse that his mother was killed a car crash and used that raw emotion to get real feelings. Thats one trick among a lot of tricks you can use.
