there are six different towns in texas called Lone Oak.... I'm looking for a town close to San Antonio that could serve as overflow for refugees... so I saw one called Lone Oak and and went to find out how far from San Antonio it was and they asked me which Lone Oak I wanted and I was like... you have more than one in the same state? That's crazy talk.

It's too far from the city anyway. 20 miles...and most people would be on foot... so though it's only 25 minutes in a car... perhaps too far on foot and not so realistic.

well even if I never use the name I want to have a general idea in my head of where it could happen, what's the town like, how many people was it meant to hold, how many people can I cram in... if they don't have a high school I can't put the refugees at a high school that kind of thing.

I looked up the best elementary schools in D.C. for my Bones fic 'cuz I wanted it to be realistic.

Although you have to pay to get at the good stuff. A good free site is craigslist.

You have to be constantly looking for a job, which can be a pain, but the work from home thing rocks!

They have my apartment on life support - running off a diesel generator. So, here's hoping the power stays on.

I really hate plot holes. like more than anything. I was reading a story once and the characters took a little roadtrip... just for the day, they stopped had lunch did a little site seeing and then were home before too late....in reality they would have just gotten to their destination by the time they were pulling up at home after their full day. So I politely informed the author of that little discrepancy and she told me she didn't care... I promptly stopped reading... Because I don't believe they had their own time travel device. And if it hadn't been a large part of the furthering story maybe I could have over looked it... but it pissed me off that they didn't even care. So I try to avoid those kinds of follies.

I believe I was chatting along with you about your vegan diet, Friday night, when mary came in and asked why I was still awake. Just as I began to answer the power for the entire 400 units in this complex went off. It has been off ever since. No hot water, refrigerator, A/C or lights or stove. Lost all my food.
