The mother thing can be tough. I'm closer to mine, now, than I have ever been. She wasn't an influence during the 14 years of my marriage, though. But, growing up I was the sounding board for all of my mom's emotional needs because my dad just has nothing in the way of skills there. I played referee a lot. Acted as mediator because I spoke both male and female. I still share her dreams and we discuss clothes and decorating and her dreams to travel and I fill in the gaps where my dad still really has no idea what she wants.

My mother was wise, however. When I hit puberty and tried to make her my first girlfriend she made sure that was over in seconds. When I brought dates home she would conspire with them against me. One particularly charming comment was as my date and I headed out the door. My mom called after us, "Watch his hands!"

But, sadly to some extent, I am aware that a man's mother and then his daughter may be the closest and purest forms of love he will ever experience. My daughter is my whole world. I miss her every conscious moment of my life.

Men might be possessive but women are extremely territorial. Have you ever seen the Mandarin Chinese symbol for the word trouble? They are a wise people. It's the picture of two women standing under one roof.

Every time I had a new girlfriend and we would be comfortably sitting around all of the meant to seem innocent questions would start about where I got my watch or my wallet or other little items and accessories. We don't pee on things just to mark it.
We have other possibilities.... (god what a word way too many i's!)

I average 4 hours sleep in a 24 hour period. I go to bed somewhere between 11 pm and 3 am in my time zone and snap awake 4 hours later. Last night I think I was asleep by 1 am and I was in here at 5 am. (Just more proof that I am HIGH maintenance) I would sleep 1 1/2 hours more if I were coupled.

wow. I'm impressed. I get about 7 hours of sleep and still need tea to pick me up in the afternoon ;-)

We don't pee on things just to mark it.

I loved being marked that other way. I used to leave the house "pickled" and very proud I was marked as hers. And the only word that uses "I" more than me talking about myself is Mississippi.

I mean I can be happy about some people but there are certain ones I can't stand to see happy
