Most Hated Episode of Season One

This time I'd thought we could pick our least favorite episode from each season, then do the game to find the winner, er, loser among those for all time worst Bones episode.

Going back to the original rules for this one. When it's your turn, take an episode off the list ... remember the episode that ends up still being on the list will be named the "Most Hated Episode of Season One" so take off the ones you LIKE. You may post as many times per day as you want ... just allow at least 3 people to post in between your posts, so that one or two people don't take over the game.

Also, this is just a game, so have fun and don't get too caught up if someone messes up, it could happen to anyone. Even Brennan. Just fix an error if you see it, but point out what you fixed so we can all keep each other honest.

Yep, that's my favorite episode of S1 in fact, it's just full of great Brennan moments, Boothisms, and of course the B&B chemistry rocks plus the story line is amazing. Shame Hart just had to re-write history for the 100th episode.

Body armor scientist's wife killed, son kidnapped while he is in witness protection.

Show opens with Brennan in her first TV interview which is very funny.

Woman from State Department interviews Jeffersonian personnel for security clearances. Hodgins irritated when she will not interview him because he has already been deemed harmless. When she asks Brennan about something that happened in Cuba, Brennan calls someone who stops the interview.

Booth is a really special FBI Special Agent in this one, a Paladin. A really great episode.

Taking off The Girl in the Fridge - yeah, yeah, I know, Michael sex but it was season 1, and interesting to see what her relationship experiences had been like. Especially since what she said she felt about the relationship, and what we SAW about it (Angela called it) taught me just how self-protective and disconnected she was from her emotions. Then of course, there's that moment Booth sets up to get her to break on the stand. That monologue is AWESOME. Not to mention the way she kicks Michael to the curb - not for lying to her, but for his loss of integrity in defending someone he knew was guilty. Said ALOT about her, I LEARNED alot about Brennan in this ep.

Yep, though the thing that sticks with me from this one is just how much about what he did that we won't ever know about because he wasn't just special forces, he ran black ops. I mean, we didn't have any troops anywhere near Guatemala in the 90's but he was down there popping some guy and that means State was involved (never a good thing). This is underscored from the convo he has with Brennan on the way to rescue the kid:

Booth: Polina didn’t make any phone calls after she was kidnapped but nobody turned it off, when she left her coverage area the cell phone was automatically assigned a routing tower.
Brennan: You could triangulate her position.
Booth: To within seventy-five square miles. There were six abandoned gas stations in that area. There were five urban, one rural. Swat’s going to check them all out but I think it’s the rural one we want.
Brennan: Why?
Booth: Cause I used to do this kind of work.
Brennan: Rescuing people?
Booth: Or being the person they needed to be rescued from.
Brennan: Oh.

The fact that we know Booth was special forces (Rangers) and a sniper is one thing, but this means he was also doing asset retrieval and interrogations (which is actually much messier than just regular wet work) so it's no wonder he left the military with a heavy heart and a guilty conscience. Actually it'd be fun to see that side of him come out to play once in a while, Dark Booth, that's must see TV!
