When did you first get into Bones and why do you like it??

Hey Everyone! In honour of it being a mere two days before the season premiere, (WOO!) I thought I would create a thread where everyone could share when they first got involved in watching Bones and why they like it so much. (Long narratives about Booth's hotness ARE allowed!)

I found out about it around the time Angel was going off, and I couldn't wait for it to start cause I missed the weekly DB fix. So I've pretty much been around since the start...which is the first time I have; most shows I seem to find late.

Well, I foremost loved Anthropology and reads about it like crazy...but someone suggested I should read Kathy Reichs, and I did. So i frequent her site and stumbled on Bones, in which she referred to as a show inspired by Tempe...and that the character on it also writes. It REALLY didn't take that long for me to be obsessed with it since I was an Angel and btvs fan.

seriously, David Boreanaz were the only words I was about to post here as reasons, but that would mean, i wasn't really trying hard enough, not to mention stating the obvious.

I think I am the only one in creation who didn't start watching Bones for David Boreanaz! And the only one who's never seen Buffy or Angel. I think that those shows were on the same night as my fav show at the time - Dark Angel. Oh well. Anyway -

I started watching because my 13 year old neice begged me to, so as she put it "We can talk about it together"

So I am forever in my neice's debt.

I was obsessed with David while he was on Buffy/Angel then when it was over I fought my crush had finally ended. Then a few yrs later Bones started again, and I still very much think he's hottttt, probably even better than he was back then now i dont think i'll ever get over my crush for him (but thats a good thing

Flipped through channels one night during commercial of other show I was watching and up popped David in BONES. I was instantly attached to the show but I didn't know who "he" was until I went to the BONEYARD one day in January 2006. The rest is history. And yes I only watch the show because David is in it. It is a good show all around but he is the reason I watch

I caught it by chance on TV one night and really liked the cases and Bones and when i saw DB i was like wow!!! Didn't know he was in this! It felt strange to see him outside the Angel role cause i never saw him in anything else :-) Then next week i happened to see another ep and by the 3rd week i was checking the TV guide to make sure I saw it...the rest is history! I guess in my case it was the whole package that got me hooked!
I even have to admit that i only started to think DB was hot in Bones, I liked Angel but more for the storyline, thought he was cute, but not really my cup of tea.... Booth definitely is!! LOL And i love all the charactera on the show.

I remember the day I started to watch "Bones". I had decided to check out the over-the-air channels on the TV. The pilot came on and I wanted to check out more of the storyline. Plus I like crime shows! The premise was great and having a strong woman character that kicks butt is great to show on television.

I found out about it around the time I became an avid fan of Angel - in 2004. I started catching up on the news on the internet so I found out about DB's new project. I was ready for a purely guilty pleasure - watching some show purely for the actor in it. I am very happy it's not that (since, say, episode 4 onward) as there are enough good things about it to make me publicly admit my watching. That being said, I am still watching because DB is in it. period. But the first 3 episodes - I wasn't so sure ... it was hitting us over the head a bit with the catch phrases & Mary Sue stuff. The show got progressively better with every episode since. Which is why I am always amazed by those who mourn the first season. But then again, I'm sure some second season mourners will spring up - no matter what.

I remember watching tv and seeing commercials for the pilot, thought it might be interesting, but never actually watched. A little while later, I caught glimpse of "The Woman in the Tunnel" and thought it was pretty hilarious. It wasn't until last September that I really started to watch it religiously. Also, unlike a lot of Bones fans, I had never watched Buffy or Angel with David Boreanaz. So every cast member on tv was brand new to me.

At first i didnt want to see it i thought it would be a procedural. the i saw Girl with the Graft and i thought it was boring. so when man in the cell aired i thougjt i would give it another chance and i fell in love. then during the month hiatus i bought season one and watch 2 on youtube. I was hooke. Now i am beyond obsessed.

What?! What do you mean Graft in the Girl was boring?! Well, my dear, I completely adore that episode. I think the writers effectively made that pleasant, informative, and heartwarming. I, haven't seen any show tackled this issue of illegal organ trade before (but House was rumored to be into it this season).

I really liked how they played the relationship between Brennan and the Deputy Director in this particular episode, where at first, spurred tension and mistrust that continued throughout Season 1. It's on my wishlist, too, that Cullen will make an appearance or recurring role in Season 3. I'm guessing Amy already died; I wonder how will this affect Cullen and his relationship with B&B and the FBI. Will he finally loosen up to Brennan now that she helped him figure out what happened to her daughter? Or will he be like a vindictive father, on the other hand, that turns him more uptight for the worst? Come to think of it, I should've written this one on "Ideas for Writers."

Yes, Semperance1, I hear ya. Once you've watched Bones, you'll get hooked immediately. Man in the Cell was awesome, I have to agree. But since you bought Season 1 DVD, give Graft in the Girl another view. I guarantee you'll love it this time.

Swear this one's a dirty, flirty, scene...

BRENNAN: So I looked it up on the internet...you can get $10,000 for grafts on the black market these days.

BOOTH: (chuckles) Ten grand. Geez, my bones are worth more than that.

BRENNAN: What makes you so special?

BOOTH: Three glasses of milk a day, I work out and I eat right. (Of course, when Booth fires his charm smile, we're in heaven!)

Love all the different reasons

I actually started watching the show because of David, too. Which in itself is strange because I only knew about him during Christmas of 2004 when my boss, now a friend showed me Buffy; the rest is history.

As time went on, I started liking the whole cast; the forensics was nice too as I have an Undergraduate in Folklore (similar to Anthropology) so the whole studying people angle always fascinated me.

As for how I found out about the show...? Wow...saw somewhere David had a new series and that was it He still brings me to the show; I honestly don't think I'd watch it without him. But I've grown to like all aspects of it.

And yup, the fact that Mr. Boreanaz has gotten better looking with age *whistles* I can be fan girly when I wanna be.

i now like graft in the Girl. In was younger when i first saw it like confused me so u were right better the second time around.
