Rememberance Day....November 11....Lest we Forget...
I know I started a thread titled this before but I can't seem to find it...
I just want to take a minute today to recognize all of our fallen soldiers from all the wars that Canada and the rest of the Commonwealth have fought in and think of all our soldiers over seas fighting current ones. I do not agree with war but I support all of the men and women laying down their lives for the sake of mine.
Lest we forget....

Re: Rememberance Day....November 11....Lest we Forget...
I'm not Canadian, but my Abba was born in Montreal and he always recited the poem In Flander's Field (which he and his classmates had to memorize) on Remembrance Day. He wasn't here this year, so a belated posting:
In Flanders Fields
By: Lieutenant Colonel John McCrae
In Flanders Fields the poppies blow
Between the crosses row on row,
That mark our place; and in the sky
The larks, still bravely singing, fly
Scarce heard amid the guns below.
We are the Dead. Short days ago
We lived, felt dawn, saw sunset glow,
Loved and were loved, and now we lie
In Flanders fields.
Take up our quarrel with the foe:
To you from failing hands we throw
The torch; be yours to hold it high.
If ye break faith with us who die
We shall not sleep, though poppies grow
In Flanders fields.

Thanks for that Fluff, I love that poem, and yes I too had to memorize it and have recited it at my share of assemblies. It's very powerful, and thanks for posting.
