G-Woman wrote:These are actual instruction labels on
consumer goods:

On Sears hairdryer:
Do not use while sleeping.
(Gee, that's the only time I have to work on my hair!)

On a bag of Fritos:
You could be a winner! No purchase necessary. Details inside.
(The shoplifter special!)

On a bar of Dial soap:
Directions: Use like regular soap.
(and that would be how?)

On some Swann frozen dinners:
Serving suggestion: Defrost.
(But it's 'just' a suggestion!)

On Tesco's Tiramisu dessert: (printed on bottom of the box)
Do not turn upside down.
(Too late! you lose!)

On Marks & Spencer Bread Pudding:
Product will be hot after heating.
(Are you sure? Let's experiment.)

On packaging for a Rowenta iron:
Do not iron clothes on body.
(But wouldn't that save more time?)
(Whose body?)

On Boot's Children's cough medicine:
Do not drive car or operate machinery.
(We could do a lot to reduce the construction accidents if we just kept those 5 year olds off those fork lifts.)

On Nytol sleep aid:
Warning: may cause drowsiness.
(One would hope!)

On a Korean kitchen knife:
Warning: keep out of children.
(hmm...something must have gotten lost in the translation...)

On a string of Christmas lights:
For indoor or outdoor use only.
(As opposed to use in outer space.)

On a food processor:
Not to be used for the other use.
(Now I'm curious.)

On Sainsbury's peanuts:
Warning: contains nuts.
(but no peas?)

On an American Airlines packet of nuts:
Instructions: open packet, eat nuts.
(somebody got paid big bucks to write this one...)

On a Swedish chainsaw:
Do not attempt to stop chain with your hands.
(Raise your hand if you've tried this..)

On a child's Superman costume:
Wearing of this garment does not enable you to fly.
(Oh go ahead! That's right, destroy a universal childhood belief.)

Oh god I laughed so hard while reading this.....
the 'do not turn upside down' ones are like a running gag in my family since I was in the USA
I had pictures of 3 or 4 different kinds of yogurt with an instruction like that on the bottom.....I should try to find them again Laughing

Can someone please tell me why the Mom's who take their kids to the kiddie pool insist on wearing the skimpiest bathing suits known to man. Oh, especially the ones who really shouldn't be wearing them. I am all for self expression, but seriously cover up around the little ones, I don't need to see all God gave you!!

P.S. Just because it comes in your size doesn't mean you should wear it!!!

I have a funny random story that goes with this discussion. I used to work at an amusement park and I was one of the supervisors in the waterpark section. One year we recieved complaints of a woman not wearing any bottoms to her 2 piece bathing suit. Myself and four others, including the manager of the waterpark, went in search and sure enough, a very heavy set woman was standing by the wave pool and it looked like she was only wearing the bikini top that mind you, was straining to hold that part in. No matter what angle you looked there was just no material showing on the bottom half because of her giant muffin rolls. So we rock, paper, scissored on who was to approach her and the manager lost. He walked over to her and we got close enough to watch and hear this unfold. He apologized and said its a family park, yada yada I hate to ask but do you have bottoms on and she happily said of course and proceeded to lift her giant belly roll to show a very tiny white bikini bottom. The mangered quickly said thank you then ran away. I don't know how none of us puke

It's the first day of holidays and i got bored today. So i cleaned my room.. then i thought that i would pack a few things in my backpack for my trip to the US.

Cut to one hour later... i'm pretty much packed but don't leave for just over three weeks. I also think that it's a little heavy.. i need to weigh it.

I was gonna put this in the 'you know you're obsessed with Bones when...' thread, but I couldn't find it. Anyway...

I got my email from redbox telling me that I had rented When in Rome and that if I returned it by 9:00 PM tomorrow, I won't receive any additional charges, and this would be my last receipt. And of course, it reminded me of the Gravedigger...'this will be my last communication'...

I know, that was lame, but I thought it was kinda funny at the time...
