Bones and Fringe will be a wonderful pairing. For those that haven't seen it before Fringe is like the X-Files only smarter, better written, and less campy (and this coming from a long time X-Files fan). Thursdays should be a killer night for FOX with that tag team combo.

Also glad to see they kept Dollhouse. I like Dushku, and Whedon deserves a second chance after the way FOX screwed the pooch on Firefly.

Now if we could just get them to adjust Mary Murphy's medication on "So you think you can dance?" Seriously, that woman needs to discover prozac, or at least try decaf at some point. I mean, hyper much?

Post by heirofloki Tue May 19, 2009 4:57 am

This is awesome news. I've been practically dancing since I heard this morning. I do love Fringe (wouldn't say it's better written than TXF, though. Not yet), and after that smashing Season Finale, the show is sure to capture some new viewers.

Once again though, sucks for Dollhouse. I do think someone up in management has it out for Whedon. Nevermind the godawful timeslot. 'Till Death as lead-in? Seriously? That's....Harsh, Fox. No

Yeah, 'Till Death as the lead-in is kind of painting them into a corner. It's not really helping matters much that the show has such an original concept and they've stuck in on a real pig of a night. I mean honestly it'd probably do better on Saturdays, but it survived the Friday night deathslot so far. Granted that was with a more appropriate lead-in.

I think the folks at FOX just don't know what to do with Joss' shows. They didn't understand the concept of Firefly, insisted on re-ordering the broadcast schedule so the episodes didn't make sense at first, constantly pre-empted the show or pushed it around for 'special' events that weren't all that special, and then cancelled it because it wasn't building an audience fast enough. I wish I could have seen the look on the programming guru's face when they found out what DVD sales were like, or how well the movie did among fans. FOX basically dumped a show that could have been as successful as TXF for a mid-season replacement that went nowhere.

Sounds like a great plan, to have Bones and Fringe on the same day.
That will give them some good ratings, I'd say.
Now they only have to keep AI far away from Thursdays and I might not have to yell at them next year.....

While I think the ratings were better on Tuesday or Wednesday I am glad to see they haven't changed Bones schedule again. I hope the network will leave it alone so that fans that may have lost track of it this past season will be able to find it again.

As for Fringe...I tried watching. The show just made me feel stupid cause I never understood what the hell was going on. LOL...I don't want to need an IQ on genius level to understand a TV show. LOL

Heh. I wouldn't say it's that sophisticated but it is, IMO, a smarter version of The X-Files. It helps, I guess, if you're familiar with the long standing conspiracy theories regarding the MIB, MJ-12 (Project Majestic), APEN, Project Blue Book, The Greys, Reptoids, Remote Viewing, the "Real" Stargate Project, and a bunch of other stuff. I'm a closet Hodgins with respect to conspiracy theories.

Let's just say after spending three years working in the skunk works for a defense contractor, I'm a little more open to what we call 'conspiracies'. If I said anymore I'd have to shoot you. Wink

I have them too, but I just never seem to get them out and watch them, unless it's to show somebody else (my sis!) You'd think it'd be different since you don't have to sit through the commercials. I think it has something to do with knowing that it's a shared experience - with all the other people watching at home on their on TVs. Corny, I know, but it's the only explanation that I can come up with!!

Yeah, I think DBC is onto something there. I mean my Bones DVD's are in my travel case and I watch them when I'm on the road because, frankly, watching a DVD for 45+ minutes is a lot more rewarding than spending ten minutes figuring out what's on TV in a strange city when you're only there for one night, but when I'm home? They never make the rotation, not unless I need to look at an episode for some particular reason. But when Bones or House is on TNT? I'm so there, tuned in, watching every minute, commercial interruptions and all. It has to be the share experience thing, that's all that makes sense.

I watch them too on TNT. I am glad that Bones is getting up there and people are now noticing it, because it is a really great show. To be honest it is one of the 3 shows I watch on TV. (sad I know, Life gets in the way)

So happy the show was renewed for another season cheers
