Feb. Sweeps Moved to March

I didn't know if this was really old news (it probably is), but I looked up what week(s) February Sweeps is, but as it turns out because of the whole move to Digital TV in February, that Sweeps has moved to March. The Sweeps weeks are March 5 - April 1, 2009.

What does this means that we won't be getting any new episodes in February also????

I just looked at airdates from Season 1 and they aired straight through February, March, and April. So I don't think it'll do that to us. I'd be POed if they did. All of these breaks are annoying. But I'm sure that's not true. but if we had any theories on when a kiss would be or a meaningful moment would be, then that would occur in March, not February, considering Sweeps.

Lets see...it is becoming very confusing. First they cancelled the December episodes and now sweeps is getting delayed. Personally, I don't think we will be getting more than couple of new episodes in January and no new ones in February.

this is madness.

The decision to move the sweeps was a industry decision,
not just a Fox decision. It makes sense to let the stations get
the digital bugs worked out before ratings begin.

Having never followed a tv series by downloading (I normally just wait for them to be shown on tv over here) this is annoying!! Although British tv does seem to be switching towards showing episodes soon after they've aired in the US, traditionally they wouldn't show a new series until after Christmas, so there might only be one or two weeks where there's a gap. This whole on again off again thing is head wrecking!! How do you guys do it every year??

This is my first season following a show, too. I started following Bones last spring right after watching The Man in the Mud. I hadn't watched Bones in forever. I had been distracted for over a year with baby stuff (my daughter will be 2 in less than a day!!!) so I watched it and remembered liking it before being sucked into the baby vortex. And I was like, "Yeah! This show ROCKS!" and now I'm a total addict.

I sort of fell into following Bones too. I watcehd it on and off. The nature of the show means that missing an episode was never really a big thing (which was perfect for me, cause I am not a big tv peron) and then I received a gift of seaons one and two on DVD earlier this year. Can you say HOOKED?? And now this whole waiting for episodes thing-it's killing me!

this whole "sweeps" system is so weird. shows putting the most interesting stuff in certain months of the year to raise their ratings... how representative is that!? i don't get it.

Is that what it is? They save up the good episodes for certain times of the year?
