sooo, the first ratings are in:

ABC had the most viewers for the first Wednesday of November sweeps thanks to Dancing With the Stars at 8pm. But second place CBS and third place Fox tied among 18-49 year olds. And to hammer home the point of what a v ast wasteland the broadcast networks are among the youth, Fox won the 18-39 year old demo with a new Bones and a repeat of House, though ABC’s Private Practice in the same hour was night’s most watched show among the 18-34 set.
Though Bones had more than 5 million fewer viewers at 8pm than DWTS, it took the 18-49 win for the hour and tied with America’s Next Top Model for the lead among 18-34 year olds.

The "Dancing with the Stars" results show, 10.2/16, easily won the 8 p.m. hour for ABC. The return of "Bones" from baseball hiatus scored a 6.2/10 for FOX. "The New Adventures of Old Christine" and "Gary Unmarried" put CBS in third. NBC's "Knight Rider" had its worst outing of the fall, drawing a 3.3/5. "America's Next Top Model" posted a 2.6/4 for The CW.

A special election-delayed broadcast of the Dancing with the Stars results show averaged 15.6 million total viewers, and thus played havoc with the competition. While Bones (10.1 mil) fought the good fight, dipping just 250K from its last outing, Knight Rider found water in its tank, skidding 29 percent to hit 5.14 mil. Similarly, CBS' Christine (6.57 mil) and Gary (6.44 mil) both dropped about 16 percent. Top Model matched last week's 3.94 mil.

Those are great stats considering a lot of people have been lost since the hiatus!

Ratings: 'Knight Rider' continues to stall

It's not a great sign when a new show that you've given a full-season pick-up falls dead last in its time slot among 18- to 49-year-olds, especially when it's nostalgia-fueled kitsch like Knight Rider. But NBC's stalled drama's 5.1 million viewers, according to preliminary Nielsen estimates, couldn't keep up with Fox's Bones (10.1 million), which took the 8 p.m. hour among young adults, or a special Wednesday edition of ABC's Dancing With the Stars results show (15.6 million), which won the time slot in total viewers.

CBS killed, as usual, with Criminal Minds (14.3 million) at 9 p.m. and CSI:NY (11.7 million) at 10 p.m., winning the night for the Eye net overall. And ABC's sophomore Wednesday lineup continues to falter: Private Practice (9.5 million) and Dirty Sexy Money (a dismal 6.2 million) just couldn't compete.
