I try so hard. I was scarred as a child when my brother said I wasn't funny, so now I try to be as funny as possible. Although sarcasm is my brand of humor and it can be particularly cutting if I don't use all my strength to reign it in. *Sigh* The burdens I bear.

Yeah, I'm in the process of rereading the series to prep for Breaking Dawn. Speaking of which, I should remind my eema (again) to preorder my copy. It is my birthday present after all.

Yeah, read it a couple months ago. Observations: Stephenie had success with the "tangled romantic web" situation, so she tried it again. It worked fine, and all the parties were happy in the end, which gives me hope that she'll be able to sort everything out in the Twilight-verse without breaking hearts. Although, of course, Jacob is the pig I'm putting in for slaughter if a heart does need breaking.

my computer kindly crashed on me.

I loved the Host though I thought that the first part moved too slowly. And I too think that Jacob is in for unavoidable heartbreak... less he finds himself some other girl. Though I am very torn on the whole Bella becoming a vampire thing too. On the one hand I'm all for it, but then I can see where Edward is coming from too. It's messy.

so... Jacob or Edward? I have to ask everyone because my sister loves Jacob and I love Edward.

Team Edward all the way! I like Jacob as a person, but he was asking for trouble the second he started liking Bella as more than just a friend. Really though, Edward is supposed to be Stephenie's ideal man. How can she split them up? Doesn't she want Bella to be happy.
I also agree about the pace of The Host. It could have been majorly condensed.

It's going to be sad if Bella becomes a vampire, but I think that her character was designed not to really relate so well to people. She's not even that close to her parents, so she doesn't have so many people that she would be leaving behind. And hopefully she would outlive Charlie and Renee anyway. This is all horribly rationalized, of course. Nothing's really that simple. Things would be so much easier if they were.

see I liked Jacob as a person in the first book and even into the beginning of the second... but he just reached a point where he was way too immature and whiney for me I guess. At least that's how it appeared to me.

And the thing I don't like about Bella becoming a vampire is that she'll loose all those little things that Edward loves about her. She'll miss out and human experinences and I think Edward is very right in not wanting her to miss out on those things. So I guess I hope that the vampire thing happens not because she wants it so badly, but because it becomes an inevitability... like she's dying and to save her he has to turn her.
